The hotel was very clean and the staff were polite. I used the leisure facilities which were fine. The evening entertainment was excellent and the older folk absolutely loved it including myself. Breakfast was well organised and the food was really good.

The property is impressive from the outside, but not worthy of 4*. The room was showing its age, The bath sheet had freyed edges, cups didn't match, cheapest of cheap coffee, tea. One pack of biscuits between two people, Plastic cups for bathroom. Fan didnt work. Staff all nice and polite etx but the room's definitely not worthy of £120 a night.

Absolutely outstanding Hotel 🏨 and surroundings
I can only imagine if I took a tour how more wow it would be,
staff exceptional friendly and accommodating!
Cleanliness of room, dust on top of cupboards a bit lazy!
Some tiles in bathroom cracked needs addressing asap , room 45 asap!!
Outside the hotel as you enter the pillars and archways need a jet wash full of bird poo very unattractive to say the least.
The worst comes last £40 charge for my pets without no prior warning ⚠️ or knowledge!
Some issues that need addressing!
To make anyone’s experience a complete package 📦!
I am so happy we stayed with you & we are very happy to come again as we felt so welcomed and loved 🥰
The grounds are kept to an amazing standard hats off to the up keepers!!!
The singer a lady sang a song gave me goose bumps all the way through OMG
Cake was lovely and thank you for the gift 🎁
Thank you for topping my beer up and making an extra effort the following evening & reading my mind likewise 😉

Impressive
Would recommend to anyone especially if you change the sausages at breakfast time😂 :)))
Thank you so much for everything Teddy&Dogs

Although very nice hotel, I was initially put out as the key I was given, there was already someone in that room!
Although the situation was sorted, being a customer service industry I would have expected a little more empathy from the desk clerk.

Very Good Historical Building, Great Service & Staff.
Touch of faded grandeur, very enjoyable

Lovely place to stay on the seafront. Spacious room, everything spotless, nice breakfast and friendly helpful staff. Enjoyable stay and would recommend.

The staff are always amazing. Rooms comfortable and spotless. Lovely roast dinner xxx
4.3
A lovely hotel a tad old fashioned but all the facilities were there. Breakfast was excellent. Staff were very friendly and professional.
4.3
It was a very pleasant stay my daughter and I had a great time.
4.3
Wonderful traditional Victorian hotel. High ceilings, traditional wood walled bar and loads of space in rooms. Such a change from major hotel franchises and so English in history. Friendly staff, good food and right across road from pier. Fab

All of the staff were friendly and welcoming. Breakfast staff were very efficient. Set in beautiful grounds the building is attractive. The room was great, plenty of storage, enough seating, lighting and power points. Even though I chose a single room, the bed, including the pillows and bedding was all very comfortable and the bathroom was a decent size with a shower over bathtub. I didnt make use of the spa/ leisure facilities this time but would be something I look forward to using on another stay.

I thought it was great lovely clean towels changed every day staff helpful pleasant would stay there again

A lovely little stay in Devon for a one night business trip. Location is excellent and service and staff were wonderful. The hotel is quite old-fashioned but does the trick and there seems to be a lot happening in terms of entertainment. Overall, it was great value for money.
My only complaint is in room 9; it needs a little bit of TLC. There were dust webs on the ceiling, the shower was far too hot and I couldn’t turn it down, and the blinds in the bathroom were broken, I ended up having to put a towel up to the window for some additional privacy.
I would definitely stay again but those finer details just need ironing out.

Fabulous view of the sea and very helpful staff. Good breakfast.

I would like to thank all the staff for their professional and friendly service. The breakfast was excellent. I will be back

A good budget 3 star hotel right on the sea front which is punching above its weight in terms of cost to value given. I stayed for 6 nights in January. All staff I spoke to were friendly, outgoing and professional-easily comparable to more expensive and chain hotels There was ample free parking on the hotel grounds. The connection strength and speed for the free Wi-Fi was good in all the areas of the hotel I went. The room was comfortable and clean, with servicing each day as standard. A small but useable gym+pool is available for a small fee (I was given complementary credit for x3 uses during my stay which was a nice touch). Irons are available on request for those needing to press clothes. The included cooked breakfast was good quality, much better than I have had in some more expensive hotels. Evening meals in the hotel seemed expensive, but you are on the seafront, so within 5 minutes walk there are lots of options. The only thing that I think could be improved on is if breakfast started at 07:30 not 8:00, for early risers and those wanting to get out and about on their travels. I would stay here again, as it offered excellent value and ticked off all the things I needed from a hotel.

The staff are amazing

Distinctly average, appear to be on cost saving measures. Service poor apart from Receptionists and Becky.

A last minute booking for a business trip. What a great find. Fantastic Staff, both at Checking & out, and also in the restaurant. Also the food was not only very tasty, but great value.
This will be my go to place when I am in this area.

Comfortable bed and warm room at a cold time of year. Breakfast was very nice. Top man Paul, a star in the Dining Room. Friendly and helpful staff in general.
Leisure facilities available at this hotel. Pool and Spa. Unfortunately I had a bad throat at the time of staying, so wasn't able to make use of these.

The service at the Palace Hotel is exceptional. All the staff are polite and friendly while remaining professional. Our room was clean (as was the hotel overall) and extremely comfortable. We stayed B&B and the breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice.
4.3
Beautiful hotel if you love old architecture and beautiful art. The restaurant staff were so friendly and I have to mention Paul who was clearly dedicated to the hotel and guests.
4.3
Staff were superb, very helpful, food lovely. Everyone was friendly and welcoming.

If you are over 75 this is the place for you. Unfortunately I am not!!
Don't be tricked in to booking in for dinner the restaurant was not as busy as we were lead to believe. There are some great places within walking distance.
Breakfast was a bit disappointing there are a lot of supplements on items (you have to pay more).
We were also woken up at 0700 both morning by someone slamming a door several times below our room which I think was the kitchen.
4.3
Perfect location and spotlessly clean. We had a lovely big room with sea views, (see picture), king sized comfortable bed and bay window with arm chairs and coffee table, which added to the ambience.
A lovely stay for my birthday, thank you
4.3
Disappointed with the breakfast especially as it cost £12 through Expedia. Never a had a boiled English breakfast before…and never will again. Have had better breakfasts from the Little Chef in the past and trust me that is not a compliment. At least it wasn’t big enough to be unhealthy.
4.3
Clean, quiet and lots of free on-site parking. Wi-fi is not great but the restaurant is fabulous. Well cooked, piping hot food and with plenty of choice. The staff are friendly and helpful, especially the restaurant manager (or head waiter, I'm not sure). My only moan is that it is not obvious how you get to reception! For 1st time visitors - looking at the front of the building it is down the right hand side. Great location overlooking the beach and close to the pier.

Comfortable and quiet room in a good location

The room was gorgeous, as were the views. The staff were very helpful and the breakfast was delicious.

Our stay was amazing

Spar close to early and hotel needs abit of a make over .Breakfast could have more continental layed out .
4.3
We had a wonderful night, the room was huge, the bed was big and comfortable, the bathroom was large too, the room was realy clean. Complementary tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits were also in the room. A trouser press was in the room if needed. Breakfast was included, if what you wanted wasnt on the menu and was a reasonable ask, they did it for you. We are going back for another stay later this year. Oh i nearly forgot, if you wanted to use the spa it would only cost an extra £5, treatments were extra.
Thank you so much for our lovely evening and morning. See you soon.
4.3
Excellent one night stay in sea view club room. Added the 4 course evening meal at an additional £19 each and it was delicious and amazing value.
4.3
A super place to stay, either for business or holiday. Plenty of easy parking. Great staff and breakfast. A place to return to.

Just a break for a night
