Check in was simple. Took awhile though as the front desk lady was talking to someone on the phone in the back about Christmas shopping. When we got to our room. Our restroom was dirty. There was hair in the sink and on the toilet(we had a dirty towel as well). The pillow cases had blood stains and stained yellow. With the experience we had we decided to not try the breakfast or pool. Front desk was very friendly though.

Blood on comforter. Stains on sheets. Brown stains on bedding and towels and curtains. Cockroach on wall. Hairs on bathroom tub. Prison pool with nasty murky water. At breakfast juice machine not working. Waffle batter spoiled.

This hotel and room is really gross, and there was a bug in my room as well as dirty sheets, headboards are disgusting, looks like this hasn’t been cleaned properly in years. The staff is nice but I wouldn’t stay here again if someone paid me to. I was scared to touch anything or let my stuff touch anything. The blankets stunk like they also weren’t washed. The staff was nice but I think they live in the hotel, which is awkward. The pool is over saturated with chemicals and no ventilation so it’s really hard to breathe in there. I let my child swim for 5 minutes before we had to leave the room because we needed air. It was also a lot deeper than posted. My daughter is 49” tall and could barely touch the bottom at the 3’6” shallow end. The shallow end ladder was out of order as well. The whole hotel needs to be deep cleaned, repainted, floors redone, new linens and furniture. The lamps had something splattered on them, under the bathroom sink the wall had something splattered, sheets were stained and not changed, blankets smelled like body odor, headboard was sticky with hairs all over it, outlets didn’t work in the lamps. I’m not sure what bug it was crawling on the floor because my husband killed it without the light on. Breakfast waffles were good, coffee was not strong and cereal options were cheerios and Raisin Bran. I tried contacting hotels.com and they couldn’t do anything except contact the hotel, and they didn’t say anything to me to fix the problem.

Worst stay ever! Terrible room, dirty rooms, loud kids running on top of our room. Complained several times to front desk and NOTHING!! Very very disappointed in the entire stay! Elevators were dirty, halls had not been cleaned

The front desk personnel were friendly and accommodating but the hotel is in terrible condition. Door scanners are cracked and broken, garbage litters the floors and elevator, and things are generally dirty and falling apart. My room had an overpowering Smell of mold and mildew and the shower was permanently stained and would not drain. The AC was not working properly and so the room was hot and humid.

Asked for late checkout, was assured I’d have one but right at 11:05 I was getting a call about check out and then when I was in the shower, the maid showed up thinking we checked out already. Kinda hard to understand them. I called a week or so before the stay to ask questions, they only awnserd one question before hanging up. Beds were pretty hard, very springy and I noticed certain spots in the bathroom that definitely needed some touch up attention

Staff was very friendly but the room was very dirty. Both headboards were sticky to the point my hair kept getting stuck to it. The air conditioner looked like it had never been wiped down. We found chips under the table. Drapes, sheets and lamp shade were all stained. I did inform the front desk when I checked out that the room needed a deep clean because of how dirty it was. The room had a strong musty smell to the point the employees had the window open when we checked in.

The staff was very friendly. Sunday morning when we went down for breakfast the owner was very nice and welcoming. Asked if we needed anything or if there was anything he could do to make our stay more enjoyable. This place is very close to six flag and gurney mills mall. So it works out for a quick weekend getaway.

All the rooms on the third floor smelled like mold, and two of the rooms actually had mold on the wall and ceiling above the air conditioning. If you pay the hotel, you get to stay on the second floor, which is better; but if you pay through Expedia or other online service, you get the third floor. Seems only the owner and his kids were working there.

Room was decent. Maintenance was not reachable to fix a problem, so they gave me another room the next day. Breakfast is till 9am. If you go after 8:30, you get scraps or have to ask for food, which they bring out a little just to get by with and sometimes cold because they hurried. Coffee is diluted. Property needs a good cleaning and maintenance.

Staff was very friendly and welcoming. No issues there. AC was struggling - it worked but it probably needed maintenance because it was warm in the room, even with the setting at 68. Sheets were stained on one bed so my sister and I shared the other. Bathroom worked fine, also no issues there. Breakfast options were tasty. Overall, just seems like a cleanliness issue. There were a lot of cobwebs in the hallways and corners inside. Sheets should be tossed if there are obvious stains.

Worst place I ever stayed. Non-smoking room smelled of heavy cigar smoke all night. Window was not locked when we entered the room. Finally got it to close and lock. Tub was so dirty that we did not take a bath. The whole place was dirty and run down for $350 a night. Would have left but I was too tired to safely drive so I slept on top of blood stained quilt.

Upon arrival, we were very excited until we got into our room and realized all of our bedding on both the sofa and the actual bed were dirty and looked used with hair, food and some items that appeared to look like blood dried up. We then requested to have new bedding brought into the room while we go out to dinner. The front desk clerk on Sunday the 21st was very sweet and very accommodating. She reached out to the staff, they only brought one bedding up so then the couch was still without bedding for my children. Then we removed rooms to avoid the issue just to come into another room with dirty bedding, hair and trash on the linen and still no bedding on the sofa. I was extremely upset and felt disappointed after spending the amount of money with no credit or refund option.

I booked a king room and called the hotel in advance to confirm that there would be no concern with our dog staying with us. I was assured that there was no concern. When we opened to door to our room we were hit with an extremely musty, dank odor. We assume that it was largely coming from the carpet which appeared old and worn with tatters at the doorway. I went back to the desk to advise of the smell. I was given the key to check another room. Same result. Checked a third room. Same result. Checked a fourth room that had what appeared to be vinyl plank flooring. There was minimal odor so I returned to the desk to advise that we would like that room only to be advised that dogs were not allowed in that room. After respectfully pressing the matter, including clarifying that a dog is likely to have much less impact to a room without carpet, the desk agent finally acquiesced and allowed us to stay in that room. We struggled to understand how the hotel would be selling rooms that smelled so badly. Overall the hotel is very worn and showing its age. The smell of the rooms was so off putting that it really led us to question the cleanliness and quality of the food served for breakfast. Thus we chose not to partake in breakfast. We were floored that the hotel has a rating of 8 out of 10 on expedia. We travel frequently and regularly stay in mid-range sorts of hotels but do aim for those with 7 ratings. This place fell way below that standard.

We had roaches in our room. Told front desk wed be leaving early and were still charged 3 nights! Very upset. My kids had a awful time at this hotel.. after qe switched hotels everything was much better.

Stayed here as a last resort as everything else was booked up. Needs a serious cleaning deep and thorough. Our room door was not closed as we first went in after checking in. Sheets were stained and we found a couple hairs after pulling down the covers. There was stains and sticky spots on the carpet and the top of headboard looked like it hadnt been dusted in a year. Pulled out our sifa bed and sheet was dirty and had a straw in them. We asked front desk for an extra pillow and wete told they didnt have any. Pool was so strong from chlorine smell as hot in there we couldnt stay but a few minutes. Will not stay here again. The other reviews about dirty and stains on sheets are very accurate. As we packed up to leave we saw a baby cockroach scurry along the wall. Do we unpacked and checked our bags to make sure we didnt take and with us. Very disgusted for the price they charged. Price was double what it is on any other day. I would think that being this close to the mall and six flags that they would be clean and nice but not the case here.

A good centrally-located hotel in Gurnee with a friendly staff, and the hotel is close to all the local attractions. Our group of four had two double rooms, and all rooms were clean and had everything we needed for a 2-night stay. Only negative aspects are that the curtains do not fully close so the room will not be dark; the windows are not soundproof; and you produce a lot of waste with the way they serve breakfast.

We had a sister's trip to the Renaissance Faire for the weekend. The hotel is just average, it is showing it's age. Check-In took a few minutes. My room was clean, but the comforter was stained, there was a big stain in the carpeting and the bathtub could really use some help. The free breakfast was pretty good with waffles, eggs, sausage, bagels, muffins etc. There was nothing special about this hotel and the price was more than it's worth. I won't stay here again.
