Hotel should be shutdown. Receptionists and Manager have no idea about customer service.
Bed was rock solid. Still in pain 2 weeks after being home.
Radiator screamed at you and sounded like it was going to explode.
Bathroom was sweaty but bedroom was cold enough to keep drinks at fridge temperature.
Breakfast I'm so glad I didn't pay for, £89 for 4 days is how much they charge for breakfast. Which is ridiculous with the amount of cafes and pubs that serve breakfast in the area
The only helpful people we interacted with was the night porters

Overall an okay stay, but let down in two areas. First I always book somewhere with a gym to keep fit whilst I travel. The gym at Muthu is a dark cupboard under the stairs where the staff have to walk through to check cctv and other things. It’s a mess to be honest.
Second, and only something I noticed whilst leaving on the last day. The cleaning team prepare the fresh sheets and towels for each room before departure time and leave them on the floor outside each room. Always great to find out that the sheets you’ve been sleeping in have probably been sat on the carpet in the corridor 🙃

Nice hotel in good location. We stayed here so we could take kids to adventure island. Stayed at radison blue last time which was twice the price and run down in comparison. Location not quiet as good but this stay was much more enjoyable. I would recommend if planning to go to adventure island. Short work and very friendly staff
2.5
A nice room with sea view. We have stayed a few times before, and they have done some renovation. Ideal location for Cliffs Pavilion, easy to park, although you have to pay. Bar area is nice

Nice hotel close to the beach and the theatre . Ideal location .

This is a well placed hotel with great access to the beach. Parking was easy and check in fine. I was disappointed with the 'gym'. Cardio equipment did not have power, there was an abandoned piece of equipment and I dont think anyone should work out there alone, no one would know you were there. The room was comfortable although everytime I used water, there was a loud noise from what I think was a water tank? Decor felt quite modern. Restaurant staff were super polite and it was clean.

Perfectly located, short walk into town, friendly stafff

Great location but hotel very run down. The room doesn’t look anything like on the website but it was cheap and we only needed a bed to sleep in for the night.

This hotel is in need of a refurbishment. Such a nice location but let down by a sense of faulty towers.

Friendly check in room was nice the addition of a floor fan a nice touch the only downer was that they ran out of brown sauce for breakfast (if could think why didn't someone go to the shops and get a bottle)but otherwise a nice stay

Rooms were not as per the pictures on Hotel.com which was unfortunate for the family given that they were expecting a bigger room and a bigger tub

Had a lovely overnight stay. Didn't spend too much time in my room or at the hotel as went to a wedding reception, but I found the room comfortable and staff helpful and friendly. Only found the hotel noisy due to other people being noisy in their room and the corridors late into the night, but the windows were pretty soundproof.

Trying to sort the parking was an absolute nightmare!

Nice sea front location in a quiet part of town. Friendly staff and nice decor in the public areas.
It's an old style seaside hotel but it's clean and comfortable and very relaxing.

Good location, easy walking to the pier. Parking confusing but okay. Breakfast very good. Room not too comfy but okay for just one night.

On the whole ok shame about the lift breaking down twice and having to walk to fourth floor. Shower not great also cold tap hot water came out. The bar limited on wine. The hotel staff friendly and happy to help. View from window was lovely over looking the sea.

The property was completely different to the photos, heard a bird outside the bedroom. I then walked outside barefoot to then stand in bird poo with 2 pigeons walking/ flying around the hallway.
Doesn’t take cash, asked for a bottle of still water and was giving a cut of tap water as didn’t have any, Low on drinks in fridge
Overall about a 5/10

The lack of parking was a problem

It was disappointing that there were no bath towels in the room and it was very hot (the window doesn't open) and the fan provided was tiny and not fit for purpose. The room had sea views which was lovely.

The place was run down
- Old doors chips in the walls
- no hot water
-lime scale on the taps , shower head and in the bathtub
- forgot to give us towels we had to ask
Worst hotel I’ve stayed at even a traveled lodge is better

A long drive to the hotel ,when i arrived i was 5 minutes from when the kitchen closed ,the receptionist asked chef if they could prepare a meal for me and it was refused . I had to have a take out in my room 😩 not good guest service. I wont be staying again .

Average old hotel. Large room with good size bed. Bathroom was small and the toilet took forever to refill making a noise for ages after a flush!
Breakfast was good - full English breakfast with plenty there.
Friendly staff who were very helpful.
The parking is tricky - you need a local app to pay, there are no machines at the front of the hotel for your permit! We had to park down the street in the meter parking area until 9pm. Then parking was OK without a permit until 11am at the front of the hotel. It would be good if parking was included in your booking somehow. It’s OK for locals but difficult for overseas visitors.

Comfortable bed's, hot water, shower and bath, lift

Staff were lovely. Evening meal great but breakfast a bit chaotic.
However when I offered a tip I was horrified to hear from staff that if tips are put on card payment they go to business and staff do not get! I did not have suitable change.
Wake up Muthu hotels. Now we mostly rely on cashless transactions this is no way to treat your staff

I loved this historic hotel which harkens back to prior times. The common areas are fabulous. The lobbies are full of overstuffed chairs, which encourage one to sit, linger and watch people. The breakfast room is full of light, with enough food options to satisfy royalty. Our room was cozy, the bed comfortable. My only complaint was the lav faucets. Note the plural. H & C. Not H/C. No mixer valve.

Lovely old hotel perfect for the Cliffs Pavillion

Great location. Staff were fantastic. Dinner and breakfast were great value. It’s just a VERY dated/retro hotel. Would definitely recommend it and stay again
3.0
Family room is facing to the space between the buildings, which makes the room dark. Also there is no nice view (actually bad) from the window. In the morning the pigeons wake us up.

I had a woderful stay .
The staff went out of their way to make me welcome.
The new chef opened her kitchen especially for me and cooked a wonderful meal for me the likes of which would earn 5 stars in any restaurant.
So mg stay was perfect.
Thankyou

The hotel was fine , beds were really comfortable.
But breakfast was awful. We had full English but it wasn’t nice. Sausage was not cooked enough or the bacon
