The room itself was nice. The bathroom was a little outdated and the room was quite echoey due to it being quite empty. The main issue was how cold it was! We went when it was stormy and not only was the window broken and not able to shut properly but there was no heating and all we had was the thinnest duvet. Will not be visiting again.

This time I went for the expensive room and it was great

The whole place was very tired. The emergency exit signs led to no access stairs. So in the event of an emergency it could really delay people safety.
The only catering available was breakfast, which was passable.

Nice room. No food available in the evening. Very noisy at the front from the main road even though window was shut. Water too hot to have a shower or bath. Couldn't get mixer tap to work first thing in the morning. TV was very basic and wouldn't update guide

The hotel looks as though it is derelict. The hotel is very poor corridors smell damp as did my room, the bathroom had black mild everywhere. I would not recommend.

The room its self was tidy but the bathroom was something out of nightmares! Mould city! The main beds where clean so not to bad. Didn’t cost a great deal and did us for 1 night. The hotel was dated and the staff were really helpful. All in all I have stayed in worse for more money so not too bad.

Great size room, clean & friendly staff. Only downside was the limited bar/drinks options.

We had some delay with check in due to staffing issues. However, the hotel was apologetic and gave us complimentary drinks and breakfast. Can’t ask for more!

Have just woken up exhausted from the worst nights sleep. Me and my 4 year old arrived at 4pm. The entrance was grubby and staff were smoking outside. We got taken to the room and it has about 15 flies in there and was so grubby. I thought for £70, as long as the flies are gone I can handle it. I told reception as we had an appointment for 5 and they said they would sort. We arrived back at 21.00 and there was no joke about 20 flies, the window was broken so didn't shut so we had a to wedge a towel in it and spend 2 hours getting rid of flies. No one was at reception. I spent the night on top of the bed as it wasn't clean but at least it was comfy however no one's door shuts properly so everytime someone leaves the room you hear a huge bang and I could even hesr upstairs pee every hour.

Great stay, very nice hotel, brilliant service from the friendly staff. It’s not the most modern property but had some great character.

I stayed for 3 nights, the room itself blew me away with the furniture and decor, it was really beautiful, bed was very comfy.
On here it says air conditioning, this is one of the main reasons i booked as i have fibromyalgia, there was no air conditioning, i asked at reception and was told that what was on the listing was nothing to do with them and only the privileged rooms had it, she did however give me a fan.
I had a shower on first night, the bath was like a slip and slide, consequently i fell badly getting out and have chipped my cocyx, i told the receptionist, she really wasn't interested, i suggested they put mats in the bath, she then gave me a brand new one stating that not all guests want them, surely having them in the bathroom as an option would be a sensible idea? Lastly, i thought my room would have had housekeeping services, but sadly not which resulted in me leaving bags of rubbish next to the bin, i ran out of toilet roll and milk, i wasnt aware that i would need to run to reception at 4am when the paper ran out, this has always been replenished in every hotel ive stayed in, i shouldnt need to be going to reception asking for basic items that should have been in the room.

Checked in to the hotel and was allocated a room where the bed had been slept in and dirty towels on the floor, clearly not cleaned from the previous guest, went down to reception and offered a free breakfast even though 5 minutes before when we were asked if we wanted to buy breakfast for the morning we said we wouldn’t have time for breakfast then offered an alcoholic beverage, thanks but I don’t drink, anyway I was given another room, get to the room and it’s nothing like the photos on hotels.com, this hotel is nothing like what is advertised on hotels.com and to be honest when we pulled up we thought the place had been shut down, getting back to the room, the shower was scalding and couldn’t be turned down so couldn’t have a shower, the noise from corridors was unreal, up and down all night constantly banging doors and shouting and to top it off when I finally did get to sleep at midnight I was woken up by someone trying to let a couple of women in to my room, when I shouted out to him what was going on he said sorry he was from reception then I really was fuming and couldn’t get back to sleep so definitely won’t recommend this hotel to any wanting a good nights sleep, I booked another two rooms for colleagues who were on a different floor and they also struggled to sleep with people banging doors all night and shouting

The girl on the reception was asking too many personal questions. This is not the first time I stayed in that hotel. This was my third stay but I experienced this first time on 25th August. She asked me questions what she was not supposed to ask. Unpleasant experience.

Would not put my dog in this hotel - grotty, dirty, unsafe glass missing out of the windows, mould in the bathroom,
untold amount of stains on the carpet - outside looks like it should be demolished - felt very unsafe so my company booked me another hotel which incurred extra cost.

The hotel was probably very successful in its hey day and is absolutely massive. Perhaps too big for the owners to fully maintain. Brutal answer being it is quite dilapidated now and appeared shabby, however we booked this at very short notice to attend a music concert nearby and after paying £48 for a double bed with an en-suite and a tv (and a window that actually opens properly!) I think it would be fair to give a review that highlights the fact that what more can you really expect for that sort of money. In terms of value I would say it was excellent, despite first appearances. The room was clean, there was towels and shower gel so I would say that was extremely good considering the pricing

The hotel has seen better days. Plenty of parking. Check in was great. The receptionist was friendly and really helpful. My room was in a fairly quiet area of the hotel. I slept pretty well.
The problem was the hotel is very tired and in need of some investment in the decor and housekeeping. During my couple of nights stay all that could be watched on TV was YouTube. (For gods sake don’t look at the history). I also discovered dirty socks behind the bedroom curtains and a used condom in the bin. Everytime I went to reception there was no one there to report it. And no housekeeping was undertaken during my stay. There are worse places to stay and if you need somewhere cheap for a couple of nights this is it.

I was on the top floor with only one accessible stairwell and no functioning lift. The room had not been cleaned with any eye for detail as was exemplified with a single sock on top of the panel heater and in the top, left hand drawer I was met with 2 opened condom packs.
The property overall is in dire need of a makeover, especially on the exterior but I have a feeling that the ownership would be looking to spend as little as possible.
The location was quite good and central.
Still in Summer yet there was no A/C and not even a fan provided in the room.
The shower was quite powerful yet the gap at the bottom of the glass screen meant the water pooled on the floor very quickly.
The bed was at least quite comfortable leading to a decent night's sleep.
Breakfast was passable.
Overall I feel a little catfished as the photos depicting the rooms and place in general were well angled but look filtered when compared to reality.
Parking was very ample.

A little better than the hotel I stayed in last time in the area, nice welcome and room seemed ok. Rather noisy on Fri esp from rooms above, but guess the hotel can't do anything about that, nice breakfast for £10 extra per night. Nice bath and shower a fairly comfortable bed, key didn't work second night so a trip back down to receptionist who was quite helpful.
