We stayed in a Hayloft suite which was very comfortable and spacious. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful throughout the hotel. Dining was a disappointment as the hotel has very recently changed the Terrace restaurant from fine dining to a more generic and mixed menu shared with the pub. The quality of the new menu was disappointing

A great traditional hotel.
This is what staying in a hotel should be like. Will be back

We had a lovely one night stay. Room was clean and bathroom was excellent with lovely toiletries. Bathrobes and slippers also in bathroom. Bed very comfortable. Complimentary tea, coffee and water, also had homemade flapjacks. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast good with lots of options. In a good position in Beaulieu with a footpath at the back of car park that led to Buckler’s Hard.

Wonderful 2 day stay with family. (6 of us). Excellent service from all staff. Relaxing atmosphere. Comfortable rooms , pretty garden in beautiful location, convenient for Motor Museum. Restaurant very good.

We had a very relaxing few days .. it was a peaceful and calm stay, a great escape from children and busy life.

Amazing service and food in a traditional surrounding. We loved it!

Lovely hotel and room, very friendly reception staff. Had our meal in the pub part, which was excellent (food and service). However the wine in the hotel (not pub) was expensive and not that nice. I left the first glass, but waiter didn’t comment. Disappointing to be charged for breakfast, when only had the small cooked one, which was cheaper than the continental which was included in our package.

Lovely team of people and gorgeous courtyard room

Thank you so much for creating such a wonderful stay.
As usual all the staff at The Montagu Arms are super friendly and helpful especially Emma.

Everyone on the staff is excellent, and the food delicious. We have stayed before and will again. The gardens are a treat, so well looked after, and the gardener is such an asset, we had good conversations with him about his work, and his ethos for the garden, many ideas to take home.

We've just come back from a lovely bank holiday stay. The rooms were clean and airy with everything you could need. The bed was very comfortable and the shower had great pressure. The staff were very friendly. Our dog was very much welcomed and looked after too.

Welcoming, comfortable and great location. However some penny pinching on room service - only two teabags??? However promptly remedied on request. Terrace Restaurant food was average at best and overpriced. Definitely not fine dining that it aspires to be. Overall need to up their game on gluten free options. On positives side reasonable breakfast and Monties pub a much better proposition for eating.

We really liked the character of the hotel. Our room was lovely. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, it felt very relaxed to be there. We ate at Montey's Bar (16 of us). They took very good care of us and everyone enjoyed their food. Great breakfast too. We would happily book again.

Absolutely Beautiful Hotel! Loved everything about the property, staff and small town it's located in. We considered adding on a day to our trip because the experience was so good, but couldn't fit it in to our schedule. The only minor gotcha... the spa attractions depicted in the advertisement are not on premise. You have to travel down the road just a bit to take advantage of them. This being the case, we didn't have time to enjoy the spa.

We got married there 20 years ago and it was beautiful then and still is now. Service, excellent then and still now. We stayed in the new accommodation this time, the courtyard rooms and it has been done very thoughtfully. Lots of lovely little touches…
Fabulous food in the Terrace Restaurant.
A very relaxed stay that felt special and quietly indulgent.

Been here a few times over the past couple of years and it’s always been great and this time was just as amazing.
Great hotel and we had a great room and then moved to another great room, nothing to do with the hotel just one of us had an injury and hadn’t said anything in advance and we needed something different if possible.
Step in Vincent, he was on the front desk/reception and you couldn’t ask for a more caring/lovely person, his energy and thoughtfulness seem to have no limits.
So he listened and then went way out of his way to help.
Breakfast was fab and lovely staff.
Highly recommend this hotel, I will be returning again, hopefully soon!!

Offered an upgrade to Courtyard suite room 24 hours before due to a cancellation, for a reduced supplement, which we were pleased to accept. Very comfortable and modern accommodation - huge and well equipped bathroom and comfy seating area with large smart TV. WiFi was good and the (largely) table service breakfast was varied and cooked to order. All the staff seem happy in their roles and well adapted to cater for customer satisfaction. Special mention to Vincent who made check in so easy. We will be back for a longer stay if we can get a good price for the Courtyard Suites.

Courtyard rooms were spacious, well equipped and fantastic bathroom

A beautiful building in a lovely setting. We felt so relaxed from the moment we entered the garden from the car park. On a sunny summers day/evening we enjoyed sitting around the outside terrace overlooking the gorgeous gardens. Our room was the best we have ever stayed in. So much space, everything immaculate. So lovely to have the choice of bath or separate shower unit.

ideal location for my trip
very good attentive and friendly staff

Our third stay here, we love it. Could spend hours sitting in the garden watching the birds.

Lovely hotel. Friendly staff, great breakfast, pretty garden, superb Sunday roast in Monty’s next door.

Staff were all friendly and very helpful.
We stayed in the deluxe suite, very clean and comfortable. I would recommend a stay.

good stay friendly staff, Paul the bar man was outstanding. Close for our visit to Beaulieu motor museum

The hotel was amazing! Excellent breakfast lovely refurbished room. Staff were great. One of the most welcoming hotels we have ever stayed in. Beaulieu itself is a small village with a few shops and a good base for exploring the New Forest
4.6
Very lovely hotel to stay at. Clean, quiet, upscale but in an old world way with character and charm. Definitely would stay there again if similar price point was offered.
Set in a beautiful village.

Staff very friendly. Building great. Pool was not on site(10 minute drive) and no available for children. Bar a little staid

Wonderful room in hayloft suite. Friendly staff and wonderful food.

A warm welcome. A comfortable room and a good dinner at the pub.

Perfect stay from start to finish, food and service was brilliant. Wine slightly overpriced but great selection.

Our stay at the Montagu Arms was superb. The quality of service was truly exemplary. The staff were attentive and genuinely seemed to care. Their attention to detail made a real difference, with, for example, complimentary tea and coffee delivered to our room in the morning. The breakfast was also delicious and all the staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

We enjoyed our one night stay immensely, the building, the grounds, the staff were all excellent. We look forward to visiting again

We stayed in Hayloft Suite 1 (40). Stunning duplex room. Bedroom and en-suite on the lower level and lounge upstairs. Overall the room was very clean, but we did notice a few areas that were missed. The glass panels on the stairs were dirty and water had been left in the coffee maker and kettle. The instructions for the coffee machine were missing detail such as how to open and load the pod section, but with a bit of trial and error we worked it out. The bed is super comfy. The bathroom is huge with a huge tub. The room was always tidied each morning and refreshed in the evening. All staff were really friendly and helpful. Special thanks for re-booking us into the restaurant last minute after we initially cancelled. Our plans had changed for the evening. Special thanks to the Chef too for being so accommodating with my fussy eating. I don’t eat fish / seafood or Asparagus and was struggling to find something for starter. The waiter and chef sorted me out with potato cakes with a beautiful sauce and veg. Chef also very kindly cooked my duck the way I prefer it - not pink! Sorry we didn’t catch their names. The gentleman barman was simply great too. He makes a fantastic classic champagne cocktail and the best whiskey sour I’ve ever had! Thank you to everyone for such a fabulous stay

A very unique property. Absolutely beautiful. Staff couldn't do enough. Location is incredible. Monty's for dinner was great. Loved all of the stories and pictures lining the halls. Room was big, comfortable. Will definitely be back!

I had a lovely Superior room overlooking the garden.
Lovely bathroom. But heating would not turn on and also the bathroom was chilly!
Staff were very friendly and helpful and I had a lovely celebration meal for my birthday with my friends. I do think the menu should be changed or at least a chef's special choice daily!

Lovey hotel, well situated to spend a couple of days in New Forrest. All staff very friendly and helpful. Room was comfortable although curtains a bit tired. We had a nice view across the river much bird noise to awaken us in the morning! Restaurant service good and food adequate after long country walks. No other dining options within walking distance.

Really excellent staff who couldn’t do enough for you. Food at the Terrace Restaurant was outstanding. Rooms were clean, spacious and well decorated and access to the Spa at Brockenhurst a real boon in the winter. The hotel is excellent value for money too.
