One of the worst hotels I’ve been in years; smelled smoke, very old and broken, terrible old and dirty carpet, small room, … the only good thing, the location.
4.1
This hotel's condition is very old. Small room, only location is good.
4.1
Old but nice hotel and we were on the 3rd floor. The receptionist was kind and helped us store our luggage at the hotel prior to check in. When we did check in, our luggage was already in our rooms, which was very nice of staff. We didn't need the aircon since it was nice and cool outside and we were happy to open the windows.
4.1
Wonderful hotel. Staff were amazing and the room was comfy and larger than most in Europe. Bathroom was very nice. Would stay again.
4.1
Terrible breakfast selection, the worst out of the 6 hotels I stayed while in Switzerland. Rooms are very sparse, NO A/C except for a table fan. We had a newly remodeled bathroom which was nice. Very convenient location.
4.1
Our stay was alright. With no aircon and only one tiny fan for three people, it was a bit hot. The hotel definitely shows it’s age a bit, but was clean and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast was okay, not a ton of options.
4.1
Clean, good staff. Block or so from bus stop to rail and bus station. Station walkable but may want to take the bus with luggage. Bus every few minutes, Hotel only a couple of blocks to lake. Small shopping mall very close. No AC which is a common issue in Swiss hotels. Breakfast good but no hot food items. Location busy so good bit of traffic and street noise when you have to leave windows open due to heat. Would stay there again

Good location. This was our first hotel stay in Switzerland so, not sure if this is typical for the country, but we found the staff a bit distant, though polite. Not overly helpful, so you have to ask to find out the general need-to-knows. Note- our room did not have air conditioning, but there was a fan in the room. Ours was overlooking the main road so it was quite noisy with traffic and rowdy tourist groups. The bathroom was clean and looked like it had been recently renovated Parking is off-site though easy to get to. There is nowhere to park when checking in though if you are travelling by car. I think if we were to return to Lucerne and stay overnight we would probably choose a different hotel.

Great place to stay in Lucerne! It's very close to everywhere you'll want to be-shopping and ferry. Our room was super updated and lovely.

Nice hotel, thank you for the fan.
4.1
It has been an extremely hot summer and for hotels without air conditioning, it is really hard to cool off at night.
4.1
The location of the hotel is excellent. The entire old town of Lucerne is easy to reach on foot. There is a shopping mall including a big supermarket next to the hotel. I would mark five stars if the room would be equipped with air conditioning.
4.1
The hotel is quite run down in need of refurbishment. On entry, the reception was quite dark and eerie and had many surveillance screens behind the front desk, almost like something you would expect in a seedy area. But it was perfectly safe, it’s Switzerland. Rooms are small (at least the twin room I got was), looks a bit different from the photos. Inside was like a room from the 80s, floorboard creaked a little and the room was on a bit of a mild slope as our suitcases kept rolling down.
No aircond (but to be fair was not needed when I was there in June) but the window can be opened to let fresh air in. Water from the tap was drinkable and encouraged so don’t expect to get bottled water.
The location is the best thing, a stone throw away from the main shopping area and the main sites like the Charles bridge and lions monument. But it’s still about a 15 min walk from lucerne main station.
Shower pressure in bathroom was weak.
Breakfast was okay, had quite a variety but nothing spectacular.
For the price paid, I think the room quality was poor but maybe that’s just because it’s Switzerland where everything is just that much more expensive.
It’s sufficient for a transit stay but don’t expect too much.

Won’t be back. Hot weather and no air conditioning. Windows left open, insects everywhere. Miserable.

Decent hotel. Very small and bare bones, but it was inexpensive, so that's a win. Don't expect luxury and it'll be a solid place to stay.
4.1
Great position just a few minutes from Old Town. Parking in public carpark nearby.
No evening meal available but v close to many restaurants. Good breakfast.
4.1
Location was great and walkable to everything we wanted to see and do in Lucerne. This hotel does not have air conditioning and the fan provided in the room was not adequate. It was a failure on my part not to realize it did not list air conditioning as a feature when I booked it. Room was a decent size, included breakfast was fine.

Great location. Easy access to busses.

Check in and checkout was smooth. Lovely breakfast! We would like to make a special mention about Selam who was very active and responsive in the breakfast room. Her service was exceptional. Close to everything - station, most of the points of interest. Several eateries nearby. Highly recommend.
4.1
Great property and pleasant breakfast. Staff was very helpful. Windows were great at blocking street noise. WiFi worked well.

It was a great location. Everyone was friendly and helpful.

Good location. Room had a smell to it so I had to keep the window open for most of my stay.

Hotel de la Paix was an excellent hotel for us - in east walking distance to all amenities and to the train station. The staff at the front desk were amazing. Very helpful and knowledgeable. The beds were very comfortable. The guest rooms are basic, clean, and had every thing we needed. The breakfast buffet was very good - again with great service.

The young lady at the front desk was extremely helpful, unfortunately don’t remember her name.
4.1
Very nice. The room is quite spacious and clean. The king-size bed is comfy and huge. Particularly, the room I stay is with the view of the trees in the main street - very healing and relaxing. The metro is within walking distance. Will definitely stay here again while traveling in Kaohsiung.
4.1
Great service, very accommodating and helpful. I did not like perfumed rooms and my pillow had odd smell. Great location and the complimentary bus pass was a big help.
