The receptionist guy not friendly, I left my insulin at the room and i came back from olten back to luzern to retrieve my insulin and i ran from the train station to the hotel and the receptionist guy was so rude he thought i was rushing him, i was just out of breath because i ran from the terminal worried that the cleaner threw my insulin, he was rude when i was asking him if they already cleaned the room. He said i dont know!!! And just gave me key to the room and look for it .

Check in was at another hotel so we needed to walk to our hotel and then to the check in hotel and back with all of our suitcases
Hotel said it had parking but they didn’t have available

Amazing location. Hotel rooms are simple but clean. I’d stay at this hotel again!

The location was amazing, and the staff was great. The TV didn’t work because of patchy Wi-Fi. It was hard to figure out where to park, but the staff was great once we checked in. The room was spacious

We stayed in the Honeymoon Suite. It was spacious and the view is breathtaking! Would stay there again in a heartbeat! In the heart of Old Town over looking the water front! With a balcony!

Love the different themes of each room and the proximity to the river and shops!

the room was fine and clean. the beds were comfortable.
The strange thing was there was no lobby and you checked in at a partner hotel.
The entrance was in an alley that was usually filled with restaurant employes smoking under the overhang.

Most pictures shown on expedia were totally different to what we got, very disappointing. Room did not have AC which is understandable weather was nice, there was 2 little fans in a closet but none of them worked.

The day we arrived, the gentleman that greeted us was not the friendliest. Some people should understand that if you are working at the front desk you should be nice and welcoming to your guests. I wish I had his name. Later we were helped by a blond guy that was super nice. On our check out Kai was also super nice as well. In general the hotel is ok. Was close to everything. For one night was good enough. We opted to pay for breakfast which was great and the variety was very good.

Nice room for stay in Lucerne. The hotel was in Old Town. Room was quiet at night even with the windows open. Lots of things to do and see during the day. Easy walk to train station and could be anywhere in Switzerland in 1-2 hours.

You can’t beat the location but it’s very noisy. There is a restaurant downstairs and the clock tower. You can close the windows to help block out the noise but then it was way too hot in the room even with the fan. There are no staff on site they are at their other hotel which is also where you check in. Breakfast is also available at a price at the other hotel. Otherwise room was fine and the location is fantastic. They offer valet parking if you arrive by car as we did again at the other property which is about a 2 min walk

Room was very dirty and small. Staff was very rude and not willing to help. No A/c in the room.
Terrible stay. Avoid at all cost

Our room was on the third floor over the kitchen. Dishes banging from 5 am to 11 pm every night. Whenever the kitchen employees step out to smoke, the smoke goes right in the window to our hotel room. The room was clean but that room location itself sucked!

Overall disappointed with the stay. For a foreigner like me traveling to Lucerne for the first time, I didn’t realize that this hotel was difficult to get to. It is located in the walking district so driving your car there was weird as you had to navigate through hundreds of people and tight corners. We also had to park at a different hotel to be able to valet the car, as the hotel itself did not have a front desk. If you don’t have a car you won’t run into these problems.
After that, we go up to our room which was pretty dusty and dirty, more than what I would expect. This hotel was also built in the 1500s so there was no air conditioning. This was a bit of a pain for us as it was really hot out. We opened the windows at night for a breeze which helped.
The next thing was the noise. Even though we were on the top floor, it was very noisy even after restaurants and shops closed. The church bell would ring loudly every 2 hours throughout the night, and the street cleaning cars started around 4am. Overall it was tough getting any sleep.
The staff was very friendly. Everything else was very poor. We are not likely to return, at least not in the summer and without a car.

We stayed in this hotel only for 1 night and this is the worse experienced ever had. We came early and we waited until 3pm before they let us check in into our assign room even though the room is clean. Staff has no customer service specially the front desk one. He kinda rude because he was talking to the customer without proper interaction and not friendly. The room is big but no aircon, only one electric fan that was working and was so hot at night. There is no 24hrs front desk or service desk and no one to ask for something we need. The lift is too narrow and can’t accommodate 2 people with the luggages. I would not happy staying in this hotel & i don’t think this is recommendable to my other frienda who wants to visit Luzern. But anyhow, the location and the place is good, accessible to shopping center and restaurants but little bit far to walk to the train station.

The hotel is very difficult to find . The check in process is very difficult as it is in another location at a different hotel. This hotel entrance is hidden in a tunnel. There is no ac and the windows open up to a very busy plaza with a restaurant below . There is also a clock that rings its bells upon the hour . The room decor was like a brothol including a mirror on the ceiling . Our room wasn’t ready at 3; PM checking , they were mopping when we tried to enter . In the morning the glass recycling truck made a tremendous noise around 7:00 am .

Overall nice stay. Hot tub in the room was nice, odd decor (statues of David and Beethoven?) No air conditioning or fan so very hot to sleep. Otherwise clean and great location right near the covered bridge.

Property is in a perfect location right by the chapel bridge. Large room but could use some freshening up.

The Good: Generally clean for old property, beds comfortable
The Bad: surprise charges (additional taxes/fees) at check in, had to check in at a different location from the hotel, very hot with only 2 small fans, mimimal outlets, room over very busy restaurant and staff took breaks and clean up below window resulting in lots of noise early morning/late nights, employee cigarette smoke rose into our window. Would not stay here again.

Convenient location in Lucerne Altstadt. 10 mins walk from Lucerne HB station. Friendly staff (reception is in the partner Hotel Krone close by). Very small lift to bedroom floors. Reasonable sized bedroom - Farmer themed, with multiple cockerell figures on the walls - a bit starnge! Farmewr room is located at the back of the property overlooking roofs and an alleyway - no vista! The wardrobe had a digital security safe for storing valuables. Bathroom was clean. Shower (over the bath) was okay, but no dedicated shower (cubicle).
No air conditioning - expected in all decent hotels nowadays, and given it was 30C ambient temperature. Flies flying around room and some dead on the floor. Had to keep window open for some ventilation but with curtain across to prevent heat build up in the room.
Breakfast was at the nearby pertner Hotel Krone - resonable choice and decent quality. Out of choice, I would not stay at the Hotel Magic again, but would consider staying at the partner Hotel Krone (having previously stayed there).

Very tight quarters. Only a place to sleep. Positives: was clean, comfortable bed. Negatives: Thought we paid all costs but were charged additional tax at check-in. Very hot with only 2 small fans. Had to open window which was above a busy restaurant with late night/early morning noise and smoking staff directly below smell rose into our room. Bathtub a fall hazard. Would not stay here again.

Great location, but was a very confusing check in process as was hard to find where to check in. No AC, so it was hot, and at least they provided a fan to cool off the room

A little awkward that it’s not in main hotel but still a great room in a great location! Everything was walkable and the staff was very kind!

We booked the lotus room. It was very spacious and well kept. I was pleasantly surprised by the size of the room. The room however is located in a different building and you need to go to alstadt Krone for Checkin, checkout, breakfast etc. Given that the reception is not in the same building, it was inconvenient to walk to a different building to get any amenities if needed. There was no parking nearby and valet parking was not available due to an event the day we checked in. However the staff was helpful in giving directions to a parking garage nearby. It cost us chf 26 to park overnight. It would be nice to have some arrangement for the staff to bring in extra towels etc without needing to go back and forth.
Overall we had a good experience.

The room was a bit odd in terms of decoration and layout. But everything worked, it was quiet and clean and well located. Amazing bar downstairs adjacent to the hotel enterance. 2 electric fans were provided in the room and this is a key feature in hot weather. The room was more of a suite with a large sitting room. Great view of the square and nearby church (thankfully the bells do not sound at night).

Disgusting hotel!!!
There were 5 sizable spiders hanging in the ceiling on top of the beds which I won’t expect in a city hotel! More to come throughout the night which we can’t sleep at all! The trash in the hotel hasn’t been cleared and with the rubbish from the precious guests! The lamps is broken. No lift to my room as it is in the roof top. The staff is very rude!
I suppose to stay 3 nights with fully paid and non-refundable but we still decided to move to another one as it is not acceptable to stay there!!!

Most ideal location, interesting theme room decorations, a bit inconvenient of checking at a different location, don’t expect to have recomendations from the front desk😅

The Allstatd Magic was a real FIND! It is the ❤️of Lucerne under the city clock! The property was well kept, clean and the staff were extremely forehand very helpful! We were able to walk everywhere and felt safe at all times! Wherever we went, we were welcomed and English is not a problem as many at least know enough to respond. I highly recommend the Alstadt Magic for its fun atmosphere, but also because it caters to your every need!

This hotel is horrible due to ridiculous service, poor condition and dirtiness of the room!
There are 5 sizeable spiders (3cm-4cm each) in my room hanging in the ceiling! The staff at the reception thought that we were overreacting and being rude to us! I know it maybe common in Europe but I guess this should not be expected in a city hotel. I am disappointed with the staff as he felt annoyed and was arrogant when dealing with our problems. His attitude made me feel that I am only exaggerating the poor condition of such hotel. He failed to comfort us as a guest and we had to bear with his worse attitude towards us.
He took a picture of the spiders and claimed that the housekeeper didn’t do his job! Unfortunately, there were more spiders over the night which we could not rest at all! I did ask the staff if I could change another room by paying extra. He just quickly turned me down with a rude manner!
The trash bin in the toilet had not been cleared where the rubbish from previous guests remained! The lamp was out of order. The room is at the roof floor which we could only be reached by stairs.
Although I have booked two more nights and fully paid for this hotel, I still decided to book and moved to another hotel even though I know that I won’t get any refund!
Don’t book this hotel. The service is ridiculous and it is so dirty and in a poor condition. A separate complaint email will go to the hotel!

The check in is actually a block away in a different hotel, so it is not convenient at the first.

Great stay here. Room was a little rundown but clean and had everything we needed. Helpful staff at the Hotel Krone (the other hotel closeby where you checkin and checkout).
