Room had a beautiful backlit vanity mirror but unfortunately lights flickered so much it made the lights useless. I would have loved the light up huge mirror to work making it easier for makeup application instead of overhead lights. A Woman checking in before us stated she loves the place I can see why, it has a great location to boardwalk along the coastline best enjoyed during a morning or sunset walk. The boardwalk also had a few benches along the trail to sit and watch the sunset, I would recommend staying there when you visit Cambria for this reason alone. Rooms include the fake fireplace for heat, small closet/mini kitchen with microwave and small fridge no freezer though. Room also offers Lather bath products. I had never heard of the product line but ended up loving how my hair felt and smelled all day so much that I looked up to see if you could purchase online and you can! I'm excited to have the hotels products at home. Also about the secret ---a we met a lady at the boardwalk while sitting on bench watching the sunset, she told us she has traveled here often and loves to visit she said this was an awesome place we agreed with her then she told us to keep it (Cambria) a secret, it quite literally is a gem. I'm glad my husband said he wanted to stay at this hotel it really made our stay feel special for our our 8th Anniversary. We can't wait to stay at FogCatcher soon we even started looking at future dates before even checking out. Book this place don't cheap out.

The location was great. The bed was very comfy, and the fireplace was a nice touch. The closet was dirty and dusty. I worried about dirtying my stuff. The tv options were a bit dated, but it could've been worse. Staff was friendly. Check in and out were super easy.
4.3
Comfy bed, nice quiet room, clean, a generous amount of towels, nice fireplace. Room looked larger in online pics than it actually was, rather expensive for a room without a balcony. Paint and wallpaper peeling in places. Hard water makes showering a little less effective.

Room was spacious and confortable with view of the ocean which was nice being that my wife and I were celebrating our 28th wedding aniversary. The one drawback was after being out most of the morning we came back to find the room undone. Went I went to the front desk to ask about it I was told I needed to request maid service if I wanted the room and bathroom cleaned. I was never notified of that when we checked in the previous night. I was told by the front desk the manager would call to offer a remedy, they never did. Cambria is a favorite place for my wife and I having made this stop as part of our honeymoon 28 years ago. This is one of a few places we've stayed in Cambria. I don't think we'll be staying here again.

Room was clean and comfortable! The property was clean ,quiet, safe, and walking distance to the beach , and dinning places !
Closeness to the beach was what I liked the best 💕
4.3
So worth the money. Easy access to the beach. Will be going back
4.3
This was a great location with really good restaurants and the beach right in walking distance. You can’t beat that!
4.3
The room was cozy and the location was perfect for an our family getaway to the beach! I’d recommend this location.

This property was so cute right in moonstone beach. Our room was cozy and clean and perfect for our night in Cambria. The pool and hot tub even had a view of the ocean. Just walk across the road and there’s a beautiful boardwalk along the beach perfect for a morning or evening stroll. We would definitely stay again.
4.3
Beautiful view of ocean Only stayed overnight Great places to eat within Walking distance. When we needed heat at night the fireplace came on
4.3
Comfy beds!
4.3
Beautiful location, quiet, right on Moonstone Beach. Friendly, helpful staff. Easy walk to Moonstone Bar and Grill. Mini fridge and fireplace in room were nice. Could use an update, windows wouldn't all stay open (push up windows) and sills were dirty. Beds sagged in the middle but were decent. Overall we really enjoyed our stay.
4.3
Front office staff is superb, excellent service.
4.3
Room was cozy
4.3
Wonderful hotel to stay at right across the street from Moonstone beach. We loved the fireplace inside our room as well. Looking forward to staying again.
4.3
Great place to stay. Just walk across the street to the beach

Some rooms are a bit outdated but it’s also across from the ocean. Lots of wear and tear.
I’ve stayed there many times but this last visit was horrendous and the staff was terrible. Unfortunately,on Sat night 7/27 we were running late for check in. I was confident it was ok as most hotels have office hours until at least 10p. Still on the road, we get a phone call that no one would be checking us in. Office closing at 9pm due to staff shortage. Mind you, the courtesy call was 20mins before 9pm. The staff member asked us to go check in at the sister hotel- ocean point ranch. Ok. He informed us, no one would be available at Fogcatcher until 11a the next day. I also asked if we could request late check out? The staff member said yes, to call office at 11. Ok! On our way and if you know how dark Cambria is… ocean point is further down. Fine we did it. I will until almost 11a the next morning. The gal on the phone clearly stated no. So unapologetically apologized. I’d rather her hang up on me to be honest. I then go to the office to check out and again. I told her what had happened and no form of empathy whatsoever. It was almost like she did not believe mme. She mentioned only two people are allowed late check out a day. Then told me to have a nice day. Again. No sincere apology. Not even, in sorry but I will inform the manager. Nothing this was not ok. At this point… I no longer cared about getting an extra 1 hour to check out. Really about customer service. Never again FCI

We had a pleasant but short stay at the FogCatcher, as the half-way point of a Pacific Coast Highway drive from San Francisco to Los Angeles. Cambria is lovely, and the FogCatcher is one of a dozen motel/inns offering the same set-up, directly across the street from the stony beach and ocean.
Two issues took the FogCatcher down a star:
1. We checked in at 845pm without incident, and were given a laminated page with all the restaurants in the area, their cuisines, and closing times. There must have been 30 of them, in small 10-point font. We took this to our room, but by the time we were ready to order, it was 9:15pm. Uh-uh. Everything closed at 9:00pm. Except for one place open until 11:00pm on every day but Tuesday, the day we were there. I was annoyed that the somebody didn't say something when we checked in, something as effortless as “oh and by the way, all 30 of these restaurants close in 15 minutes, on the off-chance you’re thinking of eating dinner.” It would have saved us much grief. So word to the wise on that.
2. Breakfast was also stressful. The FogCatcher strongly recommended their “sister” motel, the Cow Tipper, promising breakfast in their restaurant or delivered to the FogCatcher with a phone call. In the morning I opted to visit in person, but after waiting 25 minutes for my single breakfast burrito, I had to ask for it to go. I can’t imagine it being delivered! Lots of other breakfast options there in Cambria - most with a view, so try them instead.

I loved this place. The view of the coast and wak on the beach right across the street was awesome. We enjoyed the hot tub with a fire pit and heated pool in the evening. The fireplace in the room was nice as well as plenty of room with a sitting area. A desk, fridge, microwave, desk, dresser, large tv ,an area for luggage storage and a decent bathroom with shower tub combination. It showed it's age a little and the bathroom could be larger, but overall a great place. There is room service or a restaurant at sister resort but we didn't use it. We ordered pizza delivery and brought danishes from our trip in through Solvang. Visited Hearrst Castle which was beautiful ❤️

Property is in disrepair. Dirty. Room smells bad. We've been to this property and it was decent. Not anymore..
4.3
The property was nice. Can use some updating in the rooms of blinds, furniture. Overall it was clean and nice.
4.3
The room looked like it had been furnished from Salvation Army…we had a table…it had no chairs…the room was not clean! There was dust on everything!
4.3
The room was good but the property needed attention.
4.3
Fireplace was great
4.3
Large cathedral ceiling rooms, lots of space. Parking at the door at no additional cost. Right across from beautiful and rugged Cambria beach
4.3
My only issue was the ice machine was not always working properly.
4.3
Nice place. Helpful people. Couldn't imagine anyone having a problem with this place.

I love the FogCatcher Inn. I have been staying here with my family since it was first built, and I will stay here again. That said, I am aware of the conveniences which no longer are offered. No daily room maid service. If you want daily cleaning it has to be requested 24 hours in advance. If you want more in room coffee or cups, that requires a trip to the office. The FogCatcher use to offer free breakfasts which was a significant perk--no longer. The management now suggests ordering breakfast from a nearby restaurant named the Cow Tipper. The problem with the Cow Tipper is that they are desperately understaffed. Waits to get service, your food or coffee and pay the bill are ridiculously long. Again, I love this Inn; rooms are comfortable, its quiet, great location and the staff is friendly and helpful.
4.3
It was a great spot. For the money would have thought was a bit more upscale. Not many food choices past dark in the area. Long waits for restaurants in area
4.3
They refused to give me a receipt of my charges even after asking many times. Rooms are old and housekeeping was limited.
4.3
Quaint area, with perfect location!

Unfortunately this hotel is a bit of a dump. Location and view were amazing, but cleanliness was lacking and there is no WiFi, which is a problem because cell service is notoriously bad in Cambria. So even though they have a room service of sorts, you need WiFi or cell service to access it, which we didn’t didn’t know, so the 1st night there we were unable to eat dinner. Also, while we were in the very small lobby, I bought a btl of wine and my guest announced to the guy behind the counter that she was going to take the booze that they had out for sale. Tiny room, as I mentioned, fully expecting the guy behind the counter to hear her, and charge it to our room. Apparently he did not hear her, so the property mgr proceeded to call me and accuse me of, “theft”, when my CC was on file the entire time for him to charge, just because he wanted to feel important, it seemed based on the conversation we had. I was informed that I am banned from all of their hotels, even though according to him, they have video proof that it wasn’t me, “stealing” the alcohol. What?!? Really? So you know for a fact that it wasn’t me, nothing was actually stolen as I paid for it, and I’M BANNED, lol! That’s hilarious. But I wouldn’t stay there again anyway, so we are on the same page👍👍

The room was very good but the check in was diabolical. The reception was closed at 6pm with a sign saying to check in at another hotel with no direction and no mobile phone reception. When we finally arrived at the other hotel, the recptionist was having an argument with a client which was embarrassing to listen to.
4.3
It was nice, the manager was very accommodating. But I did find that under the bed was pretty Dusty, an the vent in the bathroom needs to be cleaned or vacuumed
4.3
The place was great! They charged me about double than advertised so I won’t use your service again. You need to be honest about the booking!
4.3
wifi was almost no existent in our room
4.3
Room with an ocean view, which was beautiful. Easy parking. Older furniture. Beach across the road. Wonderful. We would return
4.3
Good place to stay and relax.

Be aware that you may not actually stay at Fog Catcher Inn and breakfast delivery may not be available. At check in, we were told that an accident occurred in our room at Fog Catcher so we couldn’t stay there with two beds. BUT they are part of a large group of hotels on Moonstone beach so there was a room open at Cambria Landing. I was skeptical but didn’t have the energy to fight it. We were shown the Cambria Landing room and it was fine but the lobby smelled strange, no onsite pm lobby coverage, no pool available at this location-only 2 small hot tubs. Breakfast next day was a fiasco-QR code for restaurant didn’t work and they didn’t answer the phone. I finally reached a very helpful manager who discovered they were out of many items so turned off all delivery access including website and phone! My skepticism about Fog Catcher’s room having an ‘accident’ was on target as I saw another gentleman being led over to Cambria Landing on day two and heard the same spiel being delivered to him. Overall, Cambria Landing is an OK place and we had a nice stay but it was not what I booked.
4.3
Clean quiet and safe room within walking distance of a nice restaurant.
