Photos of room were not honest. Room was outdated, the ceiling had brown stains, the walls were dirty, furniture was old, the room smelled like cigarettes and it was supposed to be non-smoking, the outside area by our sliding door that lead to pool area was dirty with tall weeds and debris from trees.

I was excited about my stay at the quaint hotel. Unfortunately, it wasn’t very good. We arrived and no one was at the front desk. We rang the service bell, but no-one came. We waited about 20 minutes to be checked in. After we checked in, I asked for a 2nd floor room. He said no because they were sold out. I didn’t see any cars in the parking area though. He put us right by the lobby. There was a lot of noise, it was difficult to get a good nights rest.

Place is rather swanky! Comfortable bed, nice bathroom and location is great. Lots of parking and quiet area. This need to upgrade the walls and get new furniture and man! Place would be even better.

Hotel is nice for the price. Very clean and quaint. Staff were very friendly, efficient and professional

Room snelled heavily of bleach and cleaning chemicals upon arrival. Floor was sticky, room dingy. Once the cleaning chemicam smell wore off, we could smell human urine in the room. Thin walls, people walking around above us all night, yelling in the hallway outside, undercut on door to hallway is 1/2" and sound passes right through. Outdated decor, uncomfy bed and pillows, weird location, lots of strange people hanging around at night. Pool and jacuzzi were okay, but again dirty. Left 1 night early because we could barely catch any Zs here. Cough up some more money and get a better 2 or 3 star spot closer to town for same price. This place needs to be bulldozed. Staff was friendly! 1 positive

Run down hotel, carpet doesn't get cleaned really stinks I'm the whole hotel, asked for conjoining rooms and clerk said there was none but our room had a door that was to another room so was bummed that they didn't want to accommodate and lied about it. Our toilet seat had indentions on the seat that were weird and off should be exchanged, looks nice in pictures but it's dingy, dated and dirty.

This hotel Catfished us. The pictures they posted are not reflective of what it looks like at all. The photos make it look like a resort. In reality, this hotel is old, funky, and gross. The hotel owner knew it too when I said the images didn't match up. They will take your money and make you get a refund through Hotels.com. Unacceptable.

Knowing the hotel under the old ownership as Rose Garden Inn, we were positively surprised about all the changes: new floor and carpet, modern room design, comfortable bed, daily room service. Even so all the Roses around the property are gone, there is an attempt for a new garden. Pool and jacuzzi are still exceptional. The plants are a little cut back but will grow. The blooming Oleander around the courtyard is spectacular. Everything worked fine, the staff was friendly, the room was clean. Only suggestion is the change the window curtains. We had a restful stay and love the location. The breakfast place next door unfortunately closed, so there is no breakfast at this location.

This place was not at all impressive as we thought…rooms were not cleaned well..room service was not available…our linens were not cleaned even after explicitly requesting room service…hot water was not available…we will definitely not return back when in SLO!

Beautiful pool and hot tub. The room was fine bed was comfortable but the sheets, blankets and curtains all had huge stains and the cleanliness wasn’t totally there.
3.5
The staff was friendly and accomadting. The pool area was amazing. Building was old but room was updated

No hot water and half of the outlets did not work. Lamp shades were broken.

It was clean

The rooms were subpar. Cleanliness is obviously not a requirement here. Most of the outlets in our room did not work. The hair dryer did not work. The so called upgrades are not up to par. Management was disrespectful…as a woman booking the hotel the manager refused to speak with me and only would communicate or even look in my husbands direction when speaking. Only upside to this hotel was the hot tub and the size of it. There was plenty of room for our family of 4 to enjoy it with another family of 6 in it as well. The beds in the hotel are extremely uncomfortable. The shower curtain doesn’t even fit the shower size. Definitely don’t recommend booking this one. Thankfully our trip was just an overnight otherwise I would’ve been finding a different hotel.

Ghetto! Sorry if that offends anybody thats stayed there. It would be different if it was on the cheaper side a night but it wasnt, guest that were staying there were super rowdy partying all night our room was ok i guess except for the fact that you fell like you stepped in 1970. I will never stay here again

If you want a place you can party and be in the pool/jacuzzi past midnight, then this is the place! There is no staff available from about midnight to 8am. I was locked out of my room for three hours and nobody answered the front desk phone number or the bell at the front desk from 5am until 8am. I literally sat in the hallway for three hours. Other than that… it’s an average place and priced appropriately.

Did not feel the safest here. We had to move rooms because the sliding glass door was extremely hard to open and close, basically coming off the tracks. Glass mirrors were cracked and items that were supposed to be secured to the walls were not making it very unsafe, especially if you have children. Could be a very nice hotel but definitely in need of some renovation. Pool and jacuzzi were great but the area needs some cleaning. Wouldn't stay here again.

They are still remodeling the property and had a wet paint smell in the room. The room was mostly upkept and was nice.

Dirty, noisy...would not recommend!!

expedia promotes hotel offers free breakfast included, and hotel doe sent offer breakfast, Expedia should current the information because its not the first time thies happens.

The advertisement of the property was nothing like the actual property

Room was good, pool was good. Property sort of needs some maintenance but overall it was good.
3.5
Staff was very friendly and helpful

They were very accommodating with letting Us have a early check-in we were traveling and we wanted to just check in before we went out for the night! The spa is nice and clean as well! We would rent again!

Thanks for keeping the pool open later. Coolest hot tub ever! Friendliest night staff. Comfy bed and pillows.

If you are looking for just a place to sleep, then this is your place. Nothing like the photos on the website. The hotel exterior is run down, but the rooms seem to have been renovated. There’s nothing near the hotel to walk too and didn’t appear safe after hours. Cleaning Staff was very nice. Maybe in a few years of full remodel, the hotel will look as it is advertised.

Had to change my linen myself upon arrival. Room looked as if light dusting was only done. Overall you get what you pay for.
3.5
Very dirty place. DO NOT BOOK HERE. Pictures shown were not as is.
3.5
It's a 60-70 year old property. It's scary and dirty. It looks like a handyman renovated the property.
3.5
Calle Joaquin is perhaps the worst lodging accommodations I have had this summer.
It was dirty, chips of paint were missing from several places on the walls and furniture, the lamp shades were stained, the toilet in the bathroom was crooked, the shower head was a drizzle, and the entire hotel and room itself was misrepresented because the property and room were not pictured accurately.
3.5
Nice staff clean room but some of the remodeling needs work stuff broken and water stained roof

Owner was great and had awesome experience!

The hotel doesnt have any elevators. We booked the room with two queens and 3 guests and only 2 towels in bathroom. There were no plug outlets anywhere near bed and table in between beds with clock was unplugged because no outlets. The outlets behind TV had a power strip for it, mini fridge and wine fridge and micrwave. When checked in at 10 at night, clerk was having personal conversation for 10 minutes while i waited behind him. Also after carrying all luggage and baseball gear upstairs to our room, our room door stays open and doesnt shut automatically.

Very nice and affordable 👍
3.5
Dirty…spoiled sheets, hairs everywhere, dead spiders on the floor, sticky counter surfaces, peeling wall paper, rusty appliances. Disgusting!
3.5
Hotel looked runned down; room was clean but sparse; no hangers for bar; bed was terrible, sounded like it was put on crates and VERY NOISY, taking away possibility of good sleep or other possibilities. Pillows were like large rocks; they were extremely large and there was no way to use them for sleep. Walls were paper thin. Not the absolute worst place we stayed, but second to last.
3.5
The hotel needs major up grades. I found a spider in my room and the whole room smelled.
3.5
Friendly service. Spacious, clean room. Lovely pool. Will definitely stay again on future beach trips.
3.5
It's a modest hotel. No frills. Pool and jacuzzi were nice. It's located just off the freeway so there is some traffic noise. Good for the price. Close to SLO, Pismo Beach, San Simeon & Cambria.
