Very nice property across the street from the ocean and right on the Pacific Coast Highway. Nice clean room and had a gas fire place.

As a frequent traveler to Cambria and Moonstone Beach, I found this hotel not to work at the price point. Other hotels have more to offer, and the rooms are updated. One of the selling points was the ocean view and private patio, but the chairs on the patio could have been more comfortable. The jet tub, which was also a selling point of the room, had mold around all the jets, and the tub was at least three different colors, which, if you're susceptible to infections or prone to sensitive skin, would leave you ill. The room did have a fabulous fireplace, which was amazing. It is the only room point that actually lived up to the hotel's description.

Definitely will come back.
Thank you!

I stayed here for three nights. The hotel has a few years on it but it was in really good condition. Very clean. I loved the gas fireplace.
My only gripe was that the bath/shower water heat was set too low. I love a bath on a cold night but the faucet temp was warm at best and went to lukewarm pretty quick. That is a big thing to me and would actually cause me to hesitate to stay here again.

Awesome Cambria Christmas lights stay

Two negative issues to address first: 1. the insulation in the ceiling was very poor and the people staying there very loud. They moved around at all hours, it was very annoying. 2. The person in reception was rather short with John; he inquired about our purchase of two of the ceramic mugs. She responded that she didn't know and would have to ask her manager but made no effort to do so and did not say she wohld get back to him
He finally told her never mind. This was Friday the 15th of November in the AM. She was talking to another women in what seemed a non business conversation.
We checked in at 4PM on Wed and the women in the reception area was very cordial and helpful(not the same person described above)
The room was great. Loved the fireplace and the nice robes
The bathroom was roomy and the shower was great. Great views from the little patio. Loved the tasting room for
theTooth and Nail winery
The young man working there was very knowledgeable and friendly. We really enjoyed our spemt there.

The hotel was in good location.
It is in poor repair and run down.
Dirty stained carpet in hallway. Old carpet.
Dirty drapes and torn old blackout curtain in room. Very old jacuzzi tub in bathroom, old toilet - difficult to flush. Toliet kept us awake most of the night by making loud noise in the tank… we had to turn the water off to the Toliet to make it stop. We are expecting an adjustment to our bill and told manager will call us. Person at front desk could not help us at check out. Said because we used a “third party” for reservation (hotels.com). Won’t use hotels.com again either.

We had an amazing stay. The front desk staff was fantastic. The location is perfect. We were comfortable and the room had an amazing view. Everything was super clean and it was great to have a tasting room onsite.

The only thing we were not comfortable sleeping with the pillows are hard, ended up using the comforter by folding it in half a couple of times that worked.

The king ocean suite was beautiful, as was the view. We even lucked out with a rare warm Cambria night! The only bummer was no real glassware and our tv wasn’t available until the morning, we use it to distract our dogs but all went well. It was a lovely stay.

Pelican Inn and Suites is a beautiful hotel across the street from the Pacific Ocean. Our suite was lovely with a fireplace, comfortable king bed, balcony with ocean view, microwave, small fridge and coffee maker. The bathroom had a jetted tub and good water. The suite was spacious. It's an easy walk to Moonstone Bar and Grill and not too far to the town of Cambria on foot. The area is gorgeous right by the beach. Pelican has a pool and a hot tub. This stay the pool was not very heated. Before when we stayed here the pool was nice and warm! A relaxing stay here though with lovely walks on the wooden cliff path.

It was clean and the only real problem was that the shower head didn’t put out enough water to wash off the soap! It is getting older and has seen better days. And we probably got the worst room in the back of the hotel because we got in late. The couch has been there too long too!

The pool filter was really loud. Almost drowned out the traffic on highway 1. Maid service was non existent. Never changed the towels. Furniture is out dated and not very comfortable. The only thing this place had going for it was the location. The ocean is right across the street.

I think each room should have at least 2 wine glasses instead of plastic since this is wine country

We stayed 2 nights. The 1st night we had a patio room facing the ocean. The patio is a little below ground level so you can only see the ocean when standing and people walking by, there were many, would look into the room. It was a very noisy room.
The 2nd night we moved to a second floor ocean view room and it was very nice.

The property is in need of an update and major repairs. The carpet outside our room was so stained and dirty. We went pleased with housekeeping. They forgot us the first day and the second time didn’t refill the coffee. I was very disappointed.

It was okay. The best part was we were 1 minute walk from the beach and in the room we were able to see and hear the waves from the room window (it wasn’t ocean view), but the cushion to see out that window wasn’t to clean (so I asked my husband to go to the car and grab our blanket from the trunk so I can sit down and read with that beautiful view and sound) and the fireplace wouldn’t turn on.

This charming beach side hotel was a true delight. It is exactly what we were hoping for...quaint exterior, fresh and clean with beautiful landscaping. The front desk staff was very friendly helping us learn a little more about the area. The room was spacious, the bed was quite comfortable and my room even had a fireplace!! I was thrilled with my choice and would definitely go back! You won't be disappointed!

Location of hotel was great, but the property was very dirty. The room was dirty.

Roomy enough to accommodate 5 of us. But bathroom needs upgrading—no water pressure. Nice view.

HOW is this property rated at 8.4?! That is absurd! What kind of snobby, overly picky guests are writing this crap? My girlfriend and I found Pelican Inn clean, welcoming, comfortable and a perfect place to enjoy the quaint town of Cambria. If you are planning on traveling to Cambria and are considering Pelican Inn but are a little reluctant because of the low rating, take the risk. It's not the Four Seasons, but Pelican Inn should easily be rated 9.4. Thank you for such an amazing stay!

I didn’t feel the front desk was friendly! They are so concerned about the 4:00 check in. One of the front desk employees didn’t really make eye contact he was just too busy! The window seat covers were really stained and dirty. I asked the front desk for wine opener or glasses I could purchase. There weren’t any on site nor did they recommend where I might find the items. I walked next door to another hotel of which I was able to purchase glasses and wine opener. I have stayed at this property before the front desk staff were always pleasant and helpful.

It just needs to be updated a little. The slider was broken and wouldn’t lock and the fan was broken.

I had ordered a room with a balcony with ocean view.. but I got a room with a window ocean view.. ask front desk to try to accommodate and find with balcony with partial full ocean view and I would pay extra but they said they couldn’t accommodate me.. I came from the Central Valley where it’s been triple digits and really just wanted to relax on a balcony with ocean view and feel the breeze and clean air

I would recommend your inn to my friends and family.

Beautiful beach access across the road. The rooms at the rear of the hotel are noisy from the highway noise and had no balcony or view of any kind. Not what I was expecting for the price I paid. Disappointing

I reserved a room about a month before my vacation. When I arrived I was told they didn’t have my reservation. the expensive ocean view room I booked was now full. So they gave me a cheap room with a view of the parking lot they had available. They told me to request a full refund from Expedia. Expedia reached out to them several times and the hotel never got back to them to approve the refund. I have also reached out to the hotel and no one has gotten back to me. Beware… this hotel maybe selling expensive rooms and then placing you in cheap rooms.
