The food was amazing at every restaurant, all the staff was great and i couldnt get everyones nambe but everyone should get credit, they were always checking in on us even if they weren't out waiters, the playmakers were great, the room was great. We will definitely be returning.

We are returning guests of Desire Riviera Maya and this was our first time returning after new section Eden has been opened. We were assigned a spectacular spacious room with a pool that we enjoyed each night for our private experience. The new lobby bar area has amazing acoustics so music sounds incredible and that elevated the whole evening entertainment experience. The staff was incredible as usual: Manuel and Africa constantly running around the pool checking on each and everyone to ensure no one is missing anything. The bartenders Jonathan, Ivan, Luis and Jorge (makes AMAZING Old Fashions) made sure my tequila shots were chilled and pineapple slices freshly cut! Guadalupe, Elena Jasmin and Eunese always greeting with heartwarming smiles and welcoming. Managers Alessio, Miguel, Daniel, Andres are seen on property throughout the day ensuring everything is running smooth. The original side of the resort is now more quiet but we loved going there for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Special THANK YOU to Ana from Premier and Marta from guest services! Vacation would not be the same without “Welcome Home” and beautiful greeting smile of Ana. She always greets us with our favorite drinks and Marta ensured we get our VIP room upgrade. Thank you, ladies! Desire has been our “home away from home” for past thirty adults only trips and we are looking forward to many more in the future, as everyone working there are not just staff, they are FAMILY! Miss you all already! ❤️

Desire is lucky that they don't compete with another brand or resort that offers the same "lifestyle" vibe, Beach area is full of seaweed and trash, I didn't see anybody cleaning/removing the seaweed during my 4 days stay there, main pool didn't look that clean to me, after a 3rd day of my stay I did see a someone cleaning the pool properly when they should do it daily. main Jacuzzi area is kind of nasty, you will see couple interacting with each other and not cleaning themselves before they get into the main jacuzzi ( roof play area) Staff was incredible and food was ok.

The new Eden area is really nice. The nightly shows are awesome. Theme nights are really fun. Our room was very dated and in need of a make over. Food was decent, but nothing special. The beach is a 0/10. Completely full of smelly seaweed, super narrow, water was also full of seaweed, such a shame.

Atmosphere has changed, could be good or bad depending on personal preference. The new addition has added extra capacity and the interactions with staff which we loved have deteriorated considerably because they are taxed for time and energy. Good luck to the property, we won’t be returning any time soon.

As a recurring guest we were disappointed with this las trip to eden. Our breakfast took 45 minutes to get our coffee at the new restaurant at eden. We requested ice to our room to enjoy a bottle of champagne in the new room and it never arrived. The pool at eden was super cloudy and had green algae on the pool walls i was worried Id get a yeast infection the whole time. With the new addition the original pool and amenities were a ghost town they need to somehow bring the charm back and livin up the resort by using those spaces. Many couples mentioned the resort lost its soul/intimacy but i think this can be fix by creating opportunity's to bring people together. We stayed in the new rooms and paid the upgrade yet we never got pool chairs the whole time we were there. We had to put our towels in the floor along with many others. Not worth staying at eden if the desire guests have the ability to use up all the chairs not worth spending 1000’s more.

Our suite in the new Eden area was wonderful! All the new areas of the resort are excellent and a welcome addition! The resort needed some renovation, and the new areas are spacious and decorated well. The jacuzzi area is nice and big, MUCH better than the old space. Overall the resort is clean, and well maintained. The staff does a great job- from the service at bars and restaurants, the playmakers, the housekeepers, butlers, and front desk staff- good people and well trained. We appreciated the action during the day at the pool and at the bar and disco at night, but the best thing is- you can go to your room and it is quiet:) We also really appreciate the quick check-in and check-out AND not being bombarded (at all) about buying a membership. Well done DRM, we'll be back again!

We did like our stay, just were not "wow'd" enough for the amount paid. Thankfully we got an upgrade (btw - elevator was broken) into a room in Eden, which was very nice, but without it I would've felt very disappointed with garden unit for $1K/night. New entrance/lobby is not impressive, weird "naked"/not decorated, drop off circle on the hill... The absolute best part of this establishment are the employees, all of them, from gardener to concierge, to cooks, cleaning people and servers, literally all workers are very nice and attentive, they create very comfortable atmosphere. Food is great, drinks - not so much, while the liquor variety is good, the mixes and juices used are poor quality. Separately about the disco club. Not sure if its done purposely, but the music gets very very bad around 12.30am and then club is completely cleared by 1am. Huge disappointment. Really a dealbreaker. Now, "playroom" at the disco is another disaster, whoever designed it and didn't prioritize upgrading it in years, has very little understanding of what "lifestyle" is. Having many available and unused spaces on property, they should definitely convert those into various playrooms. Overall the resort has a disjointed feeling.
