I stayed at Basecamp on a solo trip for a couple days. They are very efficient with checking in and checking out process. The room was clean, comfortable and very cute. There’s a coffee shop and brewery on the grounds that has live music. Cute seating area outside with a couple fire pits. They are also pet friendly. I’ll definitely stay here again.

Great location! My husband and I stayed for five days for a vacation away from the kids. Our hotel was right next to all the hustle and bustle. Service was great and friendly, they kept it simple and communicated via text which was convenient since we were out pretty much early every day and stayed out all day exploring so asking for more towels was done via text. The room was clean and the decor was cute and rustic, I enjoyed the art work hung in our room. The bed and pillows were the most comfortable I’ve had at a hotel believe it or not. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Great stay and great experience.

Clean room, friendly check-in clerk, good atmosphere, convenient location, more quiet than expected, a little old and slightly run down but overall we liked it.
4.2
Good spot! Really dug the vibe of the hotel. The onsite brewery, cafe, and beer-garden where bonuses I was unaware of when I booked the room. Only wish there was an elevator. (I was with my dad who cannot walk well.) But he managed the stairs ok. Keep that in mind if you are a parent with strollers for the kids. Honestly though - it was no major issue for me, and I would stay here again.

The room was updated in a cool, rugged mountain motif decor. Very clean! Wi-Fi was very good! But it’s not great if you to bring your own food. Thought there was a small fridge, there was no microwave to heat food.

Loved everything about this place! Staff, room, on-site parking and brewery/beer garden with live entertainment, location across from Harvey's Amphitheater for the concert and walkable to other food, shopping and entertainment AND the beach!! Will definitely stay here again!!
4.2
Great location-a few blocks from the beach and also next to beer garden with music. Base Camp offers two hot tubs and several viewing platforms. Some rooms offer a private balcony. Very helpful staff.
4.2
This hotel was great! Location was perfect. And the staff are amazing!! Will definitely stay here again.

We went for a concert at the outdoor amphitheater. The location was amazing!!! We were able to grab drinks from the bar before we took a quick walk to the venue. We were also close enough to the strip to grab a late night bite and walk back safely. Slept like baby angles and got up to fresh coffee and amazing breakfast offering. Homestyle pop tart is were it is at. Will definitely stay again.

It was unique place that offered fun little perks. Within walking distance to Lake Tahoe. We had an issue with the AC in our original room which they immediately corrected by giving us another room. Very cordial and accomodating staff!

The adjacent bar and grill was good. Location good. First floor room not too private. Quiet at night.
4.2
Friendly staff, lots of stores and restaurants nearby. Room was clean. There’s a coffee shop and brewery on the property which is great. Brewery staff were rude (not the hotel’s fault). Downsides to the stay: AC unit didn’t work too well, and bed padding sagged a bunch.
4.2
Staff was helpful. Norepair perso n at prop.Funny smell in room, no directions how to adjust fan, a/c. Shower head inconvenient.
Buzzing/whining noise 2 nights.Refrig.in one of rooms did not work.No coffee machine, no tea available.paint coming off on shower floor. Would not stay there again.

This “hotel” was more of a glorified hostel. The one positive was the location to the Lakeside Beach and the $5 voucher to use for the beach you can get from the front desk. When researching places to stay, their competitors said that only one car was allowed per reservation and so when Basecamp didn’t have that listed, I thought we could have two cars parked on property. When I checked in, I learned that wasn’t the case and one of the cars had to be parked off-site, either in a street or in a casino garage. The front desk receptionists were not warm, welcoming, or understanding. The room was clean but dark with poor lighting. There was a weird window from the bathroom into the hallway which we kept closed. There was an automatic scent sprayer that I didn’t care for the smell. The area around Basecamp is full of other hotels, some pretty rough looking. Every night, the neighboring restaurant hosted a wedding so we could hear the music. Lastly, every night we were there (and at least a few nights before according to the other guests), a bear came down to tip over and go through the trash. This “hotel” may have a price tag that is less than other the other places, but I would suggest to not stay here if you want a quiet and comfortable trip.

The property was very unique we loved the closeness to the town and the Brewery onsite was awesome !!!

This hotel was wonderful. We were there for the American century golf tournament at Edgewood. The hotel is on a perfect location! We were able to walk everywhere. We were arriving really late in the night and they have a wonderful late check in process. The coffee shop there has great coffee and breakfast items! Staff was always super nice! We would definitely stay there again and highly recommend it! It has that perfect Lake Tahoe feel and atmosphere! Loved the outdoor space with the brewery!

There are hotels near Basecamp where we could have stayed but we chose Basecamp because of its local feel and not stuffy. We got vouchers for a private beach and reasonable prices for the accommodation and coffee within Basecamp. The place has seen better days, for sure (y’all really need to remove the pee smell on the stairs and clean the spa and small pool) but it’s still a good place for a family getaway in South Lake Tahoe

The lamp by the far bed did not work, neither did the light on the dresser. the shower leaked, we had to wiggle the faucet. neighbors through the (heat?) vent in the wall were noisy.
the blanket on the bed was twin size, not full, barely covered one person.
clean room. would have liked another lock on the door.

Just really nice

We requested extra pillows and extra towels. They didn’t answer, we called and they told us we have to go to the front desk, it’s a inconvenient since we were tired after a long drive. Towels had yellow stains. No body lotion, shower had yellow stains, there was not a blow dryer, not even a sofa. Tv was really small. And when we try to order food from the restaurant downstairs THEY WERE NOT TAKING ORDERS ONLINE. Then we headed downstairs and got the nutella toast, and they were not toast, it was ciabatta bread.

Honestly Basecamp was better than I expected it to be. Everyone was friendly and kind, check in and out was easy. The fact that they have food on the premises was great as well as live music. I didn't realize how close it was to stateline which was just a bonus. The only complaints or concerns I had was we were in a family room in the 3rd floor and maybe they just don't really want kids on the property but to put a family in the 3rd floor with tons of luggage due to you know traveling with children was a little difficult. We did know that there was no elevator but just seems like poor planning on Basecamp. Also they knowingly out us in a room where the power goes on frequently when you use the hair dryer, I did see this on another review as well. But overall I would recommend this place for anyone's next trip.

Many activities and staff is friendly and helpful.

Me and girlfriend enjoy our time here. It was clean and family friendly. Very convenient to the downtown casinos and beach. Definitely recommend it.
4.2
We have been here before but it definitely seemed a bit rundown this time. The workers were constantly cleaning throughout our stay but overall the facility seemed like it was lacking care and maintenance. The hallway on the 3rd floor smelled like human urine (much like walking around San Francisco). Again, the workers were constantly cleaning but I think it just needs a complete refresh in some areas and new coats of paint. We enjoy the amenities and location. There was a lot of smoking and vaping both onsite and at the brewery which was disappointing. Many of the shared deck areas weren’t really set up or made to feel inviting. The staff was attentive and helpful. The coffee shop and brewery are great amenities.
4.2
We liked the location and the fact no one comes into the room unless requested. The common area were very nice.
The small hot tub needs to be updated badly. Cracks and peeling paint. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Great place to stay!

The hotel has a cool vibe, I loved the ambiance and the access to the brewery was a plus!
Nothing against the furry little friends but our room had a horrible stench, it smelled like doggy paws a.k.a Fritos” I soon realized that this hotel was dog friendly and came to the conclusion that maybe that is why our room smelled bad. As soon as we opened the door the smell would just smack you in the face. It being summer I felt like the smell was just trapped in the room, keeping the AC running seemed to help alleviate the smell.
The shower curtain in the bathroom also smelled like it wasn’t properly washed. I’m really sensitive to smells and this was a bit of a downer. Other than that the hotel stay was a good. Staff was friendly and the breakfast was great!

Room #330 Power outages twice when we were using hair dryer. We ended up no hair washing while we stayed.

We stayed in the Deluxe room with the king size bed. The room was cleaned and comforting, and even had a mini AC for the room. Overall, it was a great place to stay just can be a bit challenging finding parking, especially at night! It also would have been cool to have a microwave, but that is no biggie, I’d for sure stay here again. Friendly staff, clean and comforting. Only thing is if you have young ones just keep an eye on them, at night me and my girlfriend came across a large Raccoon on the stairs leading up to our room. There was another set of stairs to use so we have no complaints about it, but do want others, especially with kids to be informed. Thank you Basecamp for a safe night at Lake Tahoe.

Good value

Be careful when making the reservation through Expedia, since the hotel will charge you the full amount again the day you check-in. They said that the authorized amount during check-in was only for 'safety', but they ended up charging basically the full authorized amount.

Loved it. Will be back again!

Our bathroom had a sour, mildew smell when we came in. The hallway outside our room also smelled like urine. We weren’t staying long so we figured we would tough it out. By the second night, the bathroom smell was overwhelming. We opened windows, ran the bathroom fan, and kept the door closed. We felt like to got worse overtime. When we checked out, I told the staff member at the desk to check before the next guest arrived and she seemed to not care.
