Great property! Large, well appointed, comfortable room! Staff are out standing! I would return to this hotel for just the fabulous service!!! The breakfast buffet was top notch too! We had mixed reviews on the restaurant, but it’s worth trying.
I highly recommend this gem of a hotel!

This hotel and the employees are wonderful. San Jose is a busy city. The hotel and all the little touches are lovely. The food and drinks at the rooftop restaurant were fabulous. Kenneth was great to talk to. Love this place and will be back.

Great central location. Good service. Amazing breakfast!

Great place to stay when visiting San Jose. The location is very central- half a block to the pedestrian mall and 4 blocks to the National Museum. Most other sites are also within walking distance. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant and couldn’t have been more pleased. Good breakfast, friendly and attentive staff, comfy beds, hot shower and very clean.

This place had great design, staff, food, drinks. No negative comments

The hotel was nothing like the pictures. The rooms were tight and smelled of cleansers. There was one table next to the beds. There definitely is not a shuttle to the airport and the cars cost about 45.00$ to the airport.
In a better note, the staff at the restaurant were helpful and nice. The steaks were tough but the soup great.
But overall, the hotel is very tired in appearance and
Beds and bedding.
I would definitely not stay here again

The hotel was very nice. We were in the floor being renovated and the workers kept the noise down. Dinner in the terrace was fabulous along with the breakfast buffet. Very nice experience.

I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Presidente! The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly, the room was very clean and comfortable. I ate at the on site restaurant, it was very pretty and delicious! The breakfast also has a ton of variety with a buffet as well as menu items ($18 usd). The location is walkable to many of the attractions in downtown San Jose, although the downtown area is a bit sketchy (not for the faint of heart) and unsafe after dark. If you are flying in/ out of San Jose and need a place to stay, this hotel is well worth the price!

Very cute, quiet, and modern hotel in the middle of all the Centro madness. Walking distance to everything. So clean. People were so nice. The breakfast was delicious.

The hotel lobby is nicely decorated. Room has smell of paint. Restaurant at roof top has no alcoholic drinks and services were a bit off as the server struggled to understand what I needed though he was courteous and trying hard.

The hotel was a surprise because it was so nice and the staff so helpful. The food at the breakfast and restaurant was also great. We had a wonderful time there, would recommend it for anyone wanting to spend a few days in San Jose to see the city and the surrounding area.

Was a great stay in the middle of the CBD. The staff was awesome; if anything was needed, they were overwhelmingly helpful. I would stay here again

Hotel was very nice and updated. Room very clean and staff was friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed the restaurant in the hotel for dinner, beautiful balcony and delicious meal. The only negative is the area around the hotel seems very unsafe and dirty, not the hotels fault but we were surprised by the area when we arrived. Maybe it’s just normal for San Jose but we didn’t feel safe walking around and stayed in our room and decided not to wonder around.

I can’t say enough good things about this hotel. The staff was amazing. We bookended our vacation in Costa Rica by staying a night at both ends of it at the Hotel Presidente. We flew in to San Jose and then traveled to other cities. San Jose doesn’t have much to offer. However, this property really stands out and provides their guests with an actual experience. I wish I could remember the names of the team members who helped us out. They were so friendly and accommodating. I was in CR with friends to celebrate my 50th bday and they really made it special. They put amazing amenities in our room—both times. I never would have expected it, but it was such a nice touch. Their attention to detail was spectacular. When we drove up, it was pouring out. They greeted us at the car, gave us umbrellas, and helped us in with our luggage. The check in process was quick and easy. The front desk staff was incredible. They provided dining suggestions and helped us with directions. What made this place really stand out was how they handled a negative situation. Our room had been recently painted and it still had a very strong paint smell. I asked if there was a way to change rooms (I never want to be that guy)—even if it was a room downgrade. They gladly switched us, and actually upgraded us to a gorgeous, enormous room. To top it off, their breakfast buffet has something for everyone and their hotel bar is amazing.

The property was beautiful and the staff was amazing. We stayed there twice on our trip—once in the beginning and once at the end. It bookended our vacation. For the second stay on our trip, they had recently painted our room and the smell of paint was a bit strong. I asked if there was the ability to change to another room—even a downgrade—and they were very accommodating. More than that, they upgraded us. I can’t say enough amazing things about the staff. The hotel was clean, the breakfast they offered was great, the hotel bar was classy, and the drinks were delicious. They didn’t skip on the details at all. It was pouring outside when we were checking in, and the staff came outside to help us with our bags and gave us an umbrella for the walk in. The front desk team gave us dining and shopping recommendations, and helped us with directions. They were so friendly and accommodating. I would highly recommend.

Part of the hotel was under construction, but it was not a problem. It was a former factory, so the layout is a little strange, but it has a lot of character. The room was spacious, the bathroom was spacious, and it was clean. The mini frig didn't work well enough to keep food in there, but drinks would be fine. The buffet breakfast was VERY good! It is super convenient to the city center; however, that does mean traffic noise early in the morning. We were getting up early anyway, so it wasn't a problem. But if you plan to sleep in and are sensitive to noise, this might not be the place for you.
There is one restaurant in the hotel; a little expensive in my opinion, but the tomato soup was excellent. The staff was very nice. I would return to this hotel.

The staff was friendly and very accommodating. Room was clean but construction noise in room next door at 8 am was annoying. Other than that our stay was wonderful and will be booking it on our return route home.

The restaurant on the roof was stunning!!! And amazing service from the bell staff, and front desk folk. We had an early flight and they prepared a special little breakfast for us!!!!
A little tricky to find/ park, but it’s expected for a dense downtown hotel. Food options nearby are good! And it was very walkable!

We loved this hotel! We were traveling as a group of 3 women and felt very safe staying here. The complimentary breakfast was very good and the front desk was very helpful during our entire stay. I would recommend this hotel.
+ it’s located in the city center which made it easy to walk to all the local sights.
We stayed for one night before catching a shuttle to La Fortuna!

Great hotel, large room, nice bathroom but no closet, although we only stayed 1 night. Staff were nice. The area was a little rundown and felt unsafe.

We reserved a Superior Room, which was spacious and comfortable. The hotel’s restaurant offers delicious cuisine. Its central location makes it convenient to visit the National Theater, Metropolitan Cathedral, and National Museum. There are plenty of nearby restaurants within walking distance. The hotel provides two parking garages equipped with secure sliding doors.Concierges Mr. Fernando and Mr. Gabriel were exceptionally helpful and patient when it came to accommodating our large vehicle for parking.

The hotel really exceeded expectations. We ended up with a huge room which was truly one of the nicer accommodations I’ve had. The restaurant at the hotel was amazing and the staff did a great job. I’d stay here again 100%

The room was very large, quiet, king size bed, with little fridge, two comfortable chairs and small table. The bathroom had a large shower and a jetted tub.
We were very pleased to be so close to museums and the central walkway. We enjoyed exploring the museums, local brewery and restaurants.
We did take a CB kill tours, but didn’t realize the hotel offers this as a service. The restaurant on site was very nice and super friendly fly staff there too.

LOVED this property. The people were great. The surrounding area was pretty dirty and gross, but we found some things to do and some places to eat!

The property was very clean and the central location made going to the National Theater, Metropolitan Cathedral and National Museum very convenient. Very walkable. However, the areas outside the hotel were a little dirty. Felt completely safe during the day. Would not advise to walk alone on the surrounding streets after dark.
