Nice people. Great restaurant. We were there in a storm and had some problems with our rooms. The toilet was leaking in the first one, and the ceiling fell in in the second one due to the storm. Unfortunately, the weather was so bad, we did not get to enjoy the pool or the spa because staff could not get there. And the beach was very turbulent and muddy. These people did try hard to accommodate us when their ceilings and buildings did not hold up. We were gifted a lovely free dinner for our troubles.

Beautiful beachfront location. Lush tropical landscaping and rooms are spacious and very clean. Wonderful and friendly staff.

Always love this property and the people! Location couldn’t be better!!

Always love staying at the Bahía del Sol!!

Beautiful small hotel right on the water and walking distance to a few restaurants. Breakfast and drinks weren’t that great but everything else was excellent. Loved that the hotel had water and sand toys for our kids.

It's a nice hotel with a very friendly staff. The direct access to the beach was a plus, though it's not the nicest beach out there. The water is a little murky. There's greenery all around the property, and while it's nice to see the iguanas, raccoons, and skunks around, I didn't enjoy finding cockroaches, enormous butterflies, and crabs in my room. But the staff was attentive and did their best to clear them out of there.
I only tried the ceviche in the restaurant and it wasn't the best.
There's a supermarket and an ATM machine near the hotel, which is great, but other than that, there are very few restaurants and bars nearby. It gets a little boring, especially at night. I had a car so I spent most nights at Tamarindo where there's a bit more going on.

We stayed in this resort in 6/21. But staff now was not as friendly and happy as in 21

Its a totally paradise experience. its not crowded not commercialized, The place is super clean. The greenery, huge gorgeous pool, cute pathways are well maintained. Your beach area is private and right on the beach . Saw other resorts that are closeby and their beaches are not not private . Renting a car was ideal and best way to see other areas of the country. There are few restaurants near the resort that are excellent. The all inclusive breakfast is wonderful.

Nice staff. Lots of mosquitoes.

Property staff was great, walking distance to restaurants.
Concierge was amazing very helpful. Spa services were great as well.
Would have been nice to have pool service and not have to request cushions everyday for pool chairs as well as bug/mosquioto care for property.

It was lovely, really the perfect tranquil beach vacation. The staff was very friendly and attentive to our needs. The room was very modern and clean. The first morning there were some issues with our TV and fan so they replaced both while we were out in the time it took us to go to breakfast! We had a great time and would highly recommend to others.

Nice place, great service (especially Barbara who went over and above for us).
Only downside food in the restaurants could have been a lot better

Our whole stay at Bahía Del Sol was excellent. The room was nice and the staff was very personable. Specifically, Luigi, our amazing bartender for most nights, Alicia who pulled some strings to get anything and everything we asked for and David who helped us locate our lost room key all deserve praise! Great boutique hotel and we would stay there again if given the chance!

Property was great, very nice area with access right off the property to a beautiful beach front! Staff was great for the most part, heard a staff member talking to another and called my wife “gorda” thinking none of us spoke Spanish. She however did and they called her a fat woman right in front of us. Overall great stay and staff, just one pretty rude remark was pretty suprising.

Property has so much potential but is in need of some TLC.
Breakfast was probably the worst we had in Costa Rica. Rooms need repair and proper cleaning. I did appreciate the A/C in each space.
Hotel needs to better communicate with guest. Classes canceled which we found out the day which shouldn’t be a “big” deal but we planned our days around our activities. Live music was the best part of the hotel. Drinks are watered down (just go to the market and make your own drinks). Food was just ok. Take a short drive to Las Brisa’s for great drinks and food!
Property sits right in front of beach which is nice and their outdoor area is nice! Room size (we stayed in a double room apartment) was good size, could easily sleep 5 comfortably! Kitchen has all basic utensils needed to make some meals.
All in all it was okay!

Very friendly staff. Front desk workers were always so accommodating and helpful. Everyone on the property spoke both English and Spanish, so it was very easy to communicate with staff. The restaurants were always well staffed and offered delicious options. The parking lot attendant was very friendly and they guard your car 24/7. Never once felt unsafe on this resort. The semi-private beach was also beautiful. Thank you for the hospitality!

Bahía del Sol was a beautiful property with lush landscape beautifully maintained. The location right on the pristine beach invited long walks and solitude. There were many areas to relax and read or sun in. A great swim up bar with great staff. We especially liked our friendly bartender Ruben! Al the staff was friendly and helpful. The room was large and had great design with a free standing tub and a large shower. We were served a delicious breakfast every morning with fresh fruit and ordered off the menu. I would highly recommend staying here.

The Staff in this hotel is amazing. He had to leave early in the morning and they prepared a breakfastbto go for US. The go far and beyond expected. Highly recommended.

Always enjoy staying here.. have stayed many times… Wonderful location

The hotel was in a great location. I felt very safe. It’s not a five star luxury hotel but it’s very close. It has everything that you need. The staff were great. Don’t lose your towel or they’ll charge you $20 which I was not happy about. Because I left it out by the pool so I know a staff member picked it up. I would definitely go back to this hotel.

Beautiful compound right on beach. Very friendly

The staff was friendly and the property location was great. We had a problem with the door to our room. The staff attempted to fix the issue and was clearly frustrated with it. After finally correcting the issue after wasting nearly two hours we went to dinner and came back to the door not properly locking once again. They did agree to move our room but would have separated us from my elderly parent who needs assistance. Nice people but property needs more upkeep.

Great service; nice room for family. Loud music at a neighboring property until 1am but not the fault of the hotel

Great property, disappointed in the room and didn't get any VIP amenities that we were aware of. Massage therapists were awesome.

very pretty hotel in amazing location. Walkable to many restaurants, bars and shops. Room spacious and clean. Would recommend highly

This hotel was exactly what I needed to decompress and relax before returning home from a retreat I hosted in Tamarindo. Potrero (where the hotel is located) is really quiet and offers limited options for restaurants and shopping - which I like. This is the perfect relaxed get-away!
3.0
Hotel is great location if you are looking for beach access and to explore Potrero. Unfortunately front desk male staff very rude upon check in when asking very simple questions. Other staff quite friendly.
4.0
Beautiful beach front and view.
Rooms felt more rustic than anticipated and more bugs in this area than a little bit west down the beach. Food mediocre.
Convenient for the small town and grocery store nearby.
5.0
Great location with a large crescent beach. Enjoyable walk both morning and evening. Chaise lounges overlooking the rolling waves under the palm trees. Off the beaten path. Lovely little beach town.

I loved our stay at Bahia del Sol! It was on Playa Portrero and near some fun restaurants we were able to check out. The grounds (e.g., pool, swim-up bar, restaurants, lounge chairs, etc) were all well-kept and enjoyable. Would definitely recommend this place. The concierge was very helpful and knowledgable!
5.0
Spacious, clean and efficient property. Very helpful, friendly and polite staff - from reception, to wait staff and bartenders. I would highly recommend this property as on of the best in the area of Potrero, Costa Rica.

Hotels.com and Bahia del Sol combined to lose my "confirmed" reservation. Neither has taken any accountability for it. The hotel blamed Hotels.com for not noticing that they had not confirmed my booking. As such, I would advise folks to book directly with Bahia del Sol -- research rates on Hotels.com and then book directly with the hotel. It was an absolute nightmare and very expensive to have to book again at the last minute. We lost a day of vacation and Hotels.com has not answered me. The staff at Bahia del Sol were nice about the screw up, so I'm hoping if they are upset about this review they will urge Hotels.com to take some accountability and reach out to me. It hasn't happened yet. (They offered to get back to me in "48 hours" when it happened, which is a joke since the original stay was for 3 nights)

Great staff, from the security guy on the door, the counter girls and the customer service!
