The location is very good. There’s lots of eating options nearby and lots of walkable shopping. The area is mostly quiet and it’s safe at night. We enjoyed our stay and enjoyed the large room we had.

This unique property is beautiful with typical Mexican flavor. It is also located in the heart of the shopping "La Quinta" street. Staff is friendly and specially the night staff, Miguel. He is pleasant and can provide any information you need. There is a secure bank ATM that you can get Mexican pesos around the corner from the Hotel. Our room suit was awesome and clean with new refrigerator and freezer. Microwave and stove. Air conditioner was perfect and crispy cold. Loved the ambiance and the terrace that oversees the ocean. I love this place and will return again. As for beaches need to go to El Canto Private Beach. Super clean, food service and beaches are absolutely clean. However, there is a cost $1000 Mpesos and return back to you $350 Mpesos credit for food or drinks. We will be back.

We had to tell them to fix a couple of things. Miguel is a good guy he helped us out with everything and fixed the things that needed fixing. Other than that it was a beautiful place to stay at. Right by stores beach restaurants.

Stayed in a suite. It was very accommodating. However, nobody cleaned our room until Thursday. (We were there M-F). We had to ask 3 times to get new towels. They seemed understaffed. The area was safe. Lots of great shopping.

We can see why people return to this hotel year after year. It’s a true gem. Quiet, charming, comfortable, and clean. It is very close to everything. Lili at the front desk is so very helpful if you need to plan a special event or excursion. She also arranged our transportation to and from the airport. Miguel is the evening concierge and security. He is also very helpful and so kind. He was always waiting to let us in if we got back to the hotel after the door was locked. Always greeting us with a big smile. The continental breakfast has a nice selection and is prepared daily by a very nice lady who’s name I did not get. This hotel is as it looks in the pictures. Spacious rooms, very clean, and so welcoming.

I had a wonderful stay at this well-located hotel, surrounded by shops and restaurants just a short walk away, yet surprisingly quiet. A big thanks to Miguel on the night shift for ensuring our safety and serving delicious breakfasts. Do need to mention he’s also a great guide. It was a fantastic experience!

We were so impressed with our stay at Acanto!! This boutique hotel is beautiful, prestine, unique and peaceful considering it is in the heart of 5th Avenue and a few minute walk to the beach. The rooftop patio has an amazing ocean view and bbq - eating and lounging area. The pool is situated in the middle of the open sky courtyard and very clean. The staff were very friendly, the included breakfast was perfect, the suite had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We felt very safe - the doors are locked at night but staff there to let you in at any time of night. The shopping, bars, restaurants, beach clubs, beach - everything you come to Mexico for was right there at our fingertips. We will definitely return! Highly recommend!!

Truly enchanting, this smaller and more intimate hotel proved to be an excellent choice. The suites are beautifully furnished with comfortable beds and tasteful decor. A reasonably stocked kitchen with a full size fridge and stovetop. Staff are wonderful and quick to please. Just steps from 5th avenue it was remarkably quiet and calm. Walk to the beach or enjoy the pool in the courtyard. The rooftop patio has a bar-b-que, tables and chairs, loungers and a fantastic view of the ocean. And there is always a cool breeze. I would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends and family.

Loved the location - close to ocean, 5th ave, restaurants, shops and grocery/supplies. Free parking in underground lot. Very nice staff- especially the gentleman who works overnight. Aircon had a hard time keeping up with heat. Not terrible but not great. Room well appointed. Indoor pool is very small. Our penthouse room did not have great view of ocean from room but we did have a roof top patio with great view via a spiral stairs next to room. Continental breakfast was ok. Not the fault of hotel but electric power went out twice in 2 days (8 hours then 5 hours) which of course means no aircon, elevator, lights, etc. hotel does NOT have a back-up generator or flashlights, lanterns, etc. . Some of the beach areas had an unpleasant odor (rotting seaweed/ fish/ sewer). We were advised by friend's who live in area to NOT trust local water- always use bottled water for drinking, ice, teeth brushing, etc. Would return to this property if we came back to PDC … but we’d bring a flashlight.

We had a one bedroom apartment which was clean and spacious. We had a few problems with the shower and toilet which the maintenance staff addressed, but it still was a bit of a problem. The staff were only too happy to help out with information on where to shop for supplies, restaurants and transportation. Unfortunately, the beach was a bit of a disappointment. There is a constant seaweed problem that they are trying desperately to keep clean. Watch out for the service charges for the beach clubs. They charge 500 Mx or $30 USD per person fee plus charges for your drinks and food. We had 2 drinks each plus 2 appetizers and it cost us $90USD. There is NO notice telling you this until the present the bill.

I got a suite that was spacious,,comfortable and had two balconies. One Juliet balcony and one larger one with seating. The rooptop was pretty nice. The pool was pretty but on the small side. Friendly staff. Complimentary continental breakfast. The few cons — shower head needs replacing/upgrading — a rainfall style one would be amazing. More kids on the property than I would have liked. A little noisy some of the nights we were there — from the street outside the hotel. Overall, though, I’d stay again. Reasonably priced, too.

I am really surprised that Wyndham would put their name on this hotel. The rooms are tiny. The faucet in the bathroom does not align properly with the sink making it almost impossible to use without getting the counter all wet. I could hear loud music until 4am, and what sounded like a pump cycling every 3-5 minutes all night long. It was so loud it would wake me up even after I managed to get to sleep. The shower was impossible to turn on without getting blasted with cold water. The front doors are windows that look right in to the bed. The only reason why I am not giving it one star is because the night security guard is super nice and helpful.

I had such a great stay here and will definitely stay again! The room was very spacious and super clean, strong wifi connection during my stay, and the hotel itself is so close to everything. The staff are so lovely, very friendly and always offering to help. The only thing to note is it can get noisy at night due to the location of the hotel.

Carla and Miguel were so helpful and accomodating. The property itself was very clean and well kept, and amazingly, for being a half block off of 5th Ave, very quiet. We had the superior one bedroom suite, which had a private roof top deck. Amazing views from both the rooftop deck and from our living room window. The hot water and water pressure were a little spotty, but we've learned to accept that when traveling out of the US. Who wants a hot shower after a hot day on the beach anyway!

1. Staff was 5/5. Very accommodating and helpful. They don’t automatically clean the room or change towels but have no issues doing so upon request. Beach towels are provided upon request. Front desk ladies linked us up with an affiliated tour operator for discounted Chichen Itza tour (which was excellent). We were allowed early check in and late check out free of charge, which helped us manage our time so much better. 2. Location was 4.5/5. It was just off 5th Ave and about a block away from the beach, but that said, it’s relatively far (12mins walk which feels more like 25mins under a 37C sun) from the ADO station which is where the hub of activity seems to be (buses, ferry to Cozumel, Parque de los Fundadores) and the nearest beach isn’t the prettiest section. Mamita’s is just a short walk away though. 3. Property was 4/5. The look of the whole building is charming (just like in photos). The room is spacious and well-appointed, but the age of the property does show. The light fixtures are a bit dim now, the shower head has uneven water pressyre and there’s a bit of an “old” smell. All in all, not bad but could use an update.
