Great service! Very clean and very nice people . We had lots of fun and ate & drank lots! Look forward to coming back with the family soon!
3.0
The beach and pools were nice but rooms and food was just so-so. We found better food eating street tacos than just about anything this resort served. Even the specialty restaurants were nothing great.
This was our first time at a resort like this and most likely will be our last.

The food is not good and the restrooms are not open all the time and the liquor is cheap

Pro: relatively cheap, nice beach, safe neighborhood.
Cons: buffet is always the same and nothing is really tasty or good to talk about, you can't make reservations in the menu restaurants, swimming pools open til 9am and close 7:30pm( all of them), guests can only obtain towels for swimming pools one per day( if they are soaking wet, good luck).

Worse hotel. Stayed in many Riu hotels. This has been the worse so far. The reception staff are fine but Managers are very unprofessional, rude, and absolutely not helpful. Would not stay here again! Would not recommend at all.

Service and security was very good!

Stayed at this property for the Labor Day weekend. The higher level staff (Supervisors and Managers) were absolutely unprofessional. I have stayed in multiple Riu locations but this was the worse. The front desk staff were very rude, food was disgusting, the place was very old, ceiling was peeling in the lobby. The last night that we were there, at 1:30am the emergency alarms sounded and there was a spanish announcement which of course we did not understand. They never announced anything in English which you would expect in a majority tourist resort and English is a universal language. We all walked to the lobby and no one was there to announce what the emergency was. We had no choice to return to our room and wait to see what happened. Very unprofessional!

Spacious, nicely decorated. Large rooms, contemporary design. Comfortable beds, large bathrooms, new appliances. Beautiful territory, very green. A little crowded at the pools, but there is enough place for everyone. Nice beach and easy access to ocean swimming.

I liked our view and the amenities but disliked no room service but it still Didn’t dampen our opinion on the resort. Very nice pools, good beach access, delicious drinks and food.

Our stay was incredible! Not only is this a truly all-inclusive experience, but the staff is amazing! The dining options were extensive, the pools and beach were clean! The service is outstanding! I would not hesitate to book with them in the future, thank you for such a hassle free and wonderful time!

The pros: they have daily entertainment that is actually fun for everyone in the family. Kids are welcomed to the night shows and events. The area is safe and I’d encourage folks to leave the resort to see nearby towns and eateries. About 40 min to PV via car. Lots of taxis and Ubers if you don’t want to rent. Clean, consistent, lots of pools and right on the beach.
The not great: this is nit picky but it’s a bit dated. Not terribly so but it’s obviously a refurbished hotel. Still nice accommodations if you know that up front. The other thing is the food. I usually don’t like staying at all inclusive because I like to explore the cuisine of a country so the buffet style food was like eating at any buffet in the US. The options were basically the same every day and that got boring. And like most buffets, food was bland. No one got sick, which I guess is the draw for folks that worry about eating abroad.
Lastly, pools were HOT. Like I was getting into a hot tub. I’m guessing they just get solarized from the sun because even the beach water was very warm. We still got in anyway so you do get used to the temp.
Overall, a nice resort that is in a safe and nice area. But try some food out of the resort for some delicious food.

Firstly, I would like to commend the housekeeping team for their exemplary service. The individuals responsible for cleaning my room were consistently polite and ensured that my room was immaculately clean on a daily basis. Their professionalism and attention to detail greatly enhanced my stay.
However, it is with regret that I must bring to your attention a less favorable aspect of my experience. The bartenders at the swimming pool exhibited behavior that could be described as rude and lacking in customer service. This attitude was noticeable and detracted from an otherwise pleasant visit to the pool area. Overall, my stay at your hotel was enjoyable, although marred by the aforementioned issue. I trust you will address this matter promptly to maintain the high standards of service that your establishment is known for.
Thank you for your attention to this feedback. I look forward to a continued positive relationship with your hotel in the future.

The property is nice, however we had a not so positive experience at check in. The young lady who checked us in was not very friendly and we had asked for a double bed and she insisted that they only had a king bed. It really messed up the mood of just arriving at a resort for a stressless vacation... I had to ask for a supervisor before our problem was resolved. The buffet is decent but it was a bit dirty around certain food stations. The ice machines did not work on any floor and we had to go down to the lobby to get ice. Overall I would give it an 3 stars overall. The waitresses, bed maids, and bartenders were excellent and way much friendlier than the front desk staff. The pools are nice but way to hot and the beach area was very nice also. I have stayed at other Riu hotels and this one was by far the one we liked the least.

My stay here was okay. The staff was amazing but not all restaurants were available as they continued to rotate them. Long wait times and we were not able to eat from all of them. They charged us $165 dollars for bed sheets since there was throw up residue on them due to being sick from the food. Unbelievable

We had a great experience. The staff were amazing the food everything good. The only downfall is that when you are in the pool they serve the same food over and over. It would be nice if they would offer different food or give you the option to order from a menu

Property was nice . Front desk workers charged me extra for a dirty towel wich made no sense to me because that’s why it’s an all inclusive , it should le include the cleaning of the towels, in that case n xt would not me I will take my own towels.

Riu Vallarta was a nice place to stay. I have stayed at various Riu resorts and I cannot complain. Overall a good experience. The food is probably the part I liked the least but that's with all of the RIU's I've stayed at. The alcoholic beverages were also a bit weak and watered down, but once again... that's all I've ever experienced at these type of all inclusive resorts, so I knew that going into it. However, comparing the RIU Vallarta with other RIU resorts, I did feel the resort was understaffed. In the dining buffet area, it was difficult at times to find someone for a drink or even a simple napkin for that matter. The pool area also lacked service. I am not sure if this is a post COVID thing, but service in pool area used to be excellent (at least at other RIU resorts). Now we had to wait in a very long line to get a drink. Not sure if this is just a RIU Vallarta thing or if it's all RIU but I did notice that difference from a couple of years ago. With that being said, I would return to RIU again.
