If you want to relax but at the same time be near to the beach this is your place, clean, safe for kids, very good restaurant and service
5.0
The restaurant staff were extremely friendly and helpful with what my kids needed. My son was not feeling well and they were able to get the food he needed. The property needs some changes like doors still using key based systems (it was way too old and hard to operate), bathroom tiles, fixture etc were quite old.

Everything about this property was great- it was beautiful and clean and had a unique design and quality customer service. We did have a very strange/negative experience upon checkout however. The hotel charged us $20 upon checkout because a clean wash cloth was accidentally brushed into the trash can as we were leaving. This strange charge was enforced with very little explanation or prior notification. This experience just as we were leaving left us with a negative impression of what was otherwise a very lovely stay.

We originally found the restaurant La Palapa during our first trip to Costa Rica and fell in love with it. We have been "saying" we wanted to stay at the hotel for a few years. This finally happened for our 5th anniversary and again a week later with friends. It won't be our last. The rooms are comfortable, although the beds are a little on the stiff side. And note, the king room reserved was only a queen. But for a couple of nights, it was doable. The rooms are roomy, the showers are hot, and the amenities are good. Each room has a small TV, a safe, and even a cooler to take out by the pool. The staff is beyond accommodating, friendly, and helpful! Did I already say the restaurant is gluten-free and amazing? The veggies come from their organic garden, and their ingredients are fresh. We have yet to have a bad meal. Breakfast is included in the morning. We now live in Costa Rica, and there are many great places to stay. Hotel Cuna del Angel is at the top of our list—a great little boutique hotel outside Dominical.

I arrived to the property and they told me I had to pay for my room, when I’m fact it was prepaid and use Expedia points. I was refuse check in or any benefits. Took me a long time to get wifi because I was not consider a guess to be able to contact Expedia. They refuse to help or contact Expedia and even after I show my own credit cart statement showing payment and Expedia recite.
I was treat it as if I want it to steal from them. Them they put me on a floor where there was no easy access next to the kitchen and food smell was very strong. Staff was rude even after Expedia agent help me. Next day they were still rude and I had to ask for my free drink and they told me they had to find out if I rate the drink. There is was no benefit. Horrible experience. My money and Expedia points were wasted and a very uncomfortable experience. I feel i trough my money and points away. Very disappointed.

Really lovely, intimate retreat. Staff are all friendly and attentive. The restaurant is convenient and truly wonderful. Probably our favorite option for dining in the area. Such amazing attention to detail throughout the grounds, and even the raw botanicals shower products were a delight to use. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a serene retreat after a day of surfing or enjoying the national parks (the staff provided us with a list of nearby beaches with information and directions to find them). There is a shuttle to Domi I think, and saw some taxis lift a few guests but we rented a car as it was the easiest way to access all the surf spots and parks. It was easy to park and 24 hr security so your things are safe

Very Beautiful Nature setting. Rooms were great. The air worked well. Toucans are plentiful. If I had any beef at all I thought the food menu was a bit overpriced and limited. I mostly ate at nearby Soda's and other restaurants in Uvita. But I would most certainly stay there again.

The food was so good. I felt that it was almost too beautiful to eat.
Make sure you have transportation if you do travel here as there are no beach shuttles or help to any place except the hotel...and the beach is fantastic..just gotta get there.

This property is a total disappointment. We had to find another hotel, because the property itself was unacceptable as a 4-star hotel. Firstly, most of the food we ate in the restaurant was disgusting. Secondly, the rooms are very dated and the lighting awful with “cool” (instead of warm and welcoming) light bulbs with very low lumen ratings, so at night the rooms felt like a set in a horror movie. They also waste copious amounts of water in the rooms, with shower heads and toilets that are heavy flow; there is so much water coming out of the shower, it’s almost uncomfortable. Thirdly, the pool and hot tub are unheated, with the front desk citing “because of the weather.” My sister got in a couple of times but it wasn’t comfortable. An unheated hot tub? I don’t understand. I had a screaming child in the room next to me on my second night, and the front desk was reluctant to move me, although they did. They also claimed to have “dealt“ with said screaming child, but the child could be heard from many places on the property, screaming at various times during the day and night. I’m talking about a young child, not a newborn baby, who needs food. Finally, the hotel refused to refund our money for two rooms for two nights, stating that it was because we booked through a third-party site. The woman checking out on our way out, who was also complaining, was also refused a refund.

Last time we were at this hotel was 11 years ago, and it hasn't changed much. The hotel looks tired, it definitely needs upgrades. The toilets in our room barely flushed and based on the size of the water tank, it certainly wasn't eco-friendly. There was also a terrible sewage smell, not sure if it is their septic system or from elsewhere but it needs to be looked at. The restaurant staff were very nice and accommodating.

Not sure what all the ravings are about.
The hall way is dark, the room smells very musty. The bathroom is outdated. The staff is nice and the parking for those who drive are good.

For those that appreciate an eco-boutique hotel with superb gluten-free cuisine, this is the place to stay in Uvita/Dominical in the South Pacific of Costa Rica. Truly a gem!

My wife and I were on a romantic weekend get-a-way. This hotel was pleasing to the eye. Tastefully decorated, and clean. The price was reasonable for a hotel of this kind. The food was amazing, but also a tad pricey. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this place to friends and family.
