I visited this hotel on business recently and I was surprised how nice it was.
They had made a huge effort with the decor going up the stairs and also so really noticed all the Christmas decorations which made it feel extremely festive and seasonal.
The staff were very friendly and chatty and were also extremely attentive and professional.
Prices of food were on the expensive side however it was of very very good quality.
There were great cooked options on the breakfast menu also.
The rooms were very clean and very cosey, it had a great shower and good automatic lights in the bathroom at night.
They provided coffee, tea & bottles of water; I approved of the water bottles.
The bed was also possibly the comfiest hotel bed I’ve slept on.
In terms of the facilities, the pool was great and so was the jacuzzi, the sauna was a great addition too, with a pool side bar and a very good looking girl working behind it who was nice and chatty.
The gym was very small, and it wouldn’t really fit anymore than 10 people. However it had what you needed for a quick workout and it was good that it was pool side.
Parking was easy and free which was great.
Overall it was a great hotel, one of the best I’ve visited in a while.
Would recommend.

Easy parking just outside the hotel. Comfortable bedroom with a modern bathroom. Great room service food. Good hearty breakfast served in a grand dining room. Very friendly staff, we were made to feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble.

The hotel & staff were brilliant, making us feel very welcome. All the staff were happy and smiley & most willing to help out with info & choices etc. Food was superb as was the ambience of the hotel. Would definitely go back again.

Really enjoyed the quirky interior and relaxed seating areas with board games for amusement. We also loved how doggy friendly it all was.

We had a lovely stay at this hotel, it was a last minute booking to take shelter for some unexpected stormy weather on our camping trip... after many disasters on our holiday, the lovely ladies gave us a complementary upgrade and from there on the service was outstanding. Thank you for saving our holiday spirit! X

Very nice hotel

Unsure why hotel has 4 stars because the condition of hotel rooms and spa was way below average. Photos look nothing like actual condition of facilities.
The spa is very tired and outdated, not looked after as windows were dirty covered in cobwebs and dead flies.
Bedroom was very small and you can hear every noise and conversation outside the room. Shower was clogged took a while for water to go down.
When someone was turning room around they took all rubbish out of the bin and put on the desk; forgot about it so when we came back we found all our rubbish on the desk, so there is definitely no attention to detail there.
Mentioned all this to reception staff, didn’t seem like they cared much.
Overall very below average hotel and facilities, definitely overpriced for what it is.

Penventon Park is a lovely little hotel near Redruth
Redruth itself is no longer up to much, by all accounts, but we used this hotel as a base for travelling around Cornwall, and for that it is well located, as it is pretty central
We chose the hotel mainly as it had EV chargers, which worked perfectly well while we were there
Food was good - Both on the one evening we ate there, as well as each breakfast
But housekeeping needs work. The coffee cafetiere thing has mucky rubbish in it. The bathroom was never cleaned properly. We hung our towels so that they didn't get replaced, but housekeeping folded them (wet) and placed them back on our beds, making them and the bed damp. And one day, housekeeping just didn't come in at all, however it was marked at reception as having had a "light refresh" - which meant no fresh water, tea, coffee, or biscuits, an unmade bed and more damp towels.
But apart from that, we did enjoy our stay ... Just were never sure quite what to expect when we got back

The room was perfectly comfortable but he whole hotel just looks a little tired and in need of a little tlc and a fresh coat of paint . The bathroom tap is incredibly hot to the point of dangerous.

For £200 a night we expected a much better room than we received. Cracked tiles in the bathroom, dirty splash marks on the walls . We tried to have a quiet drink outside in the sun but had to come back in as the locals must use this hotel as there local and the language was disgusting.

Just a really lovely hotel tucked away in Redruth. I'm all about the pillows, these were perfect and the room was very clean and comfortable - short notice stay very reasonable price.

We have really enjoyed our short break at this hotel. Every member of staff was courteous and helpful, the cocktails and food were fabulous and the beauty treatments were lovely. We would return without a doubt!

We stayed her for our wedding night as we live locally.
I booked a standard room, but on arrival discovered that the lovely hotel has upgraded us as they had found out it was our wedding night.
The room was beautiful, comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. The staff were brilliant and we shall definitely be considering returning.

Great stay except for a truly rediculous wash basin in the bathroom. Litterally unusable for face washing or tooth brushing. A marble shelf just above it, preventing your head to be placed above the basin. And then there was of course the insane -separate- cold/hot water tap.
Everything else was really good. Ah, no lifts but only two floors.

Really conveniently located for our business meeting. Staff were very friendly. Pool was a decent size. Very much in need of a refurbishment though, as quite shabby on exterior and pool/spa areas.

Stayed for 3 nights bed and beakfast as a base for visiting family. My room was quite nice and clean but the outlook was awful. Overlooked by another room so felt I needed to keep the curtains shut and looked out through filthy window onto a dirty flat roof with wires everywhere. The bed was okay but the base was larger than the mattress so every time I got put the bed I hit my calves against the base. Plus the base wasn't joined so it made the edges quite sharp. The breakfast was lovely as were the breakfast staff. I have an allergy and my needs were met. The reception staff were not what I would expect from front of house. During my stay not one of them made eye contact or spoke to me, unless I spoke first and I had to pass reception to access the stairs to my room. I regarded that as rude and not what I would expect from front of house. To be honest I should have complained about my room but I didn't feel comfortable making a fuss.
The housekeeping staff who serviced my room was really pleasant so 5 stars to her and thank you.
So, room was clean, location was awful, bed needs sorting out. The breakfast staff were great as was breakfast. House keeping really kind and courteous, reception staff rude and unfriendly. No one is that busy not to look up and greet guests with at least a smile.

Hotel staff were very friendly, a lot going on with a wedding but they seemed to have coped very well .

In general it was a lovely hotel, our only issue was the room was too warm and we were unable to open the window due to the noise from the ventilation unit outside the window, however when the window is closed you cannot hear it. The breakfast hostess was excellent she greeted everyone with a smile and recognised previous guests

It was brilliant as usual this was our second visit. The only thing i would change is the hotel doesnt really cater for disabled people.

Standard double rooms small and not well lit. Vegetarian opinions limited. Did have better option on request as we went as a group. Drinks overly priced. Ordered Virgin mojito was packed with ice. Poor value. Staff were good mostly. Liked the traditional theme. As a vegetarian I would not stay for the food or value content.

Unfortunately a noisy first night due to a wedding. Much quieter on the Sunday. Hotel did give us some discount and a bottle of wine for the inconvenience ( and lack of sleep). Food was very good and couldn't fault breakfasts. May check in future about functions and the whereabouts of our room in relation to other wedding guests.
