Most of times most places are good but few are exceptional. This is definitely one of the exceptional ones.
I just returned home after a visit to Latin America. While staying in this hotel, I had a medical situation that I had trouble dealing with given I knew nothing about the country and place nor did I speak Spanish. The hotel manager and his staff went way beyond their duty. They upgraded my room so I could have an excellent view of the entire city. The hotel manager even went to pharmacies for me. They also managed to get a doctor to come to see me. Their kindness is very touching and I will always remember that.
Also, the view and location is probably as good as one can get in Valparaiso.

A true gem. We love it. The staff was amazing. Got upgraded to a spacious room with a balcony overlooking the city. Best view in town. Much better than many of the other views from restaurants and cafes. Staff very helpful and charming. Amazing sunrise views and beautiful tranquil evenings. I would come back any time. Made our Valparaiso all the more enjoyable and fun. Thank you 🙏

Pablo the manager made the stay exceptionally good. Gave good tips on where to go and made stay a cultural experience.

We feel very lucky to have been able to reserve a room with a lovely panoramic view of Valparaiso and the bay. The staff were amazing, and the location excellent. We happened upon the Concepcion funicular, an inexpensive way to get down to the harbor area. The neighborhood has many walking tours to look at the street art. A shout out to the staff—Karen who checked us in and was so helpful, Pablo the manager and Melissa on the afternoon shift. Loved this hotel and would choose this one again.

Great location for exploring Valparaiso. Lots of restaurants nearby. Breakfast was great and staff extremely helpful.

Excellent included breakfast. Beautiful views. Steep climb from the harbor.

Great location with lots to see by walking and many of good and inexpensive restaurants nearby.

Friendly helpful service, nice location, good view, safe and very close to walking distance to sites and restaurants

Excellent location, close to many restaurants and small shops. 10 minute walk to the waterfront.

It was a very good trip. Be aware that there was no tv in the room. Also the hotel is up in the hills so be prepared to walk the hills. The breakfast was excellent. We waited till exactly 3 pm for our room. Since the house is from the 1890's bathroom is different. Overall great views from the outdoor patio. Only suggestion would be to add king beds instead of queens.

We stayed for a night to take our cruise in Valparaiso. It was a great place, located in a nice and walkable area which is a touristic attraction due to its street art (graphities). The hotel staff were super kind and the rooms were comfortable. If you are planning to take a cruise, you'll be 10-15 min driving from the port.

Once the front door opened it was so impressive. Tall ceilings and beautiful furniture. The view was just magic. The staff were very friendly and our breakfasts delicious. The location was also great. The only downside is we could hear every movement from the room above and around us as the floors are wooden. The neigbour and their dogs were also very noisey (they started to party at midnight to around 3.30am one night). I think this is just part of living in Valparaiso so I would suggest just accept it and enjoy everything else this place has to offer.

We were amazed by this hotel. It dates back to 1890 but it is in a great condition and everything is done so nicely and beautiful. It has a great charme, much light and fits the description of a „Boutique“ hotel. The host is so welcoming and nice and has a lot of recommendations for the area (to do, and where to eat). The view from the terrace is incredible. Breakfast on the terrace is awesome.
The hotel is situated in a nice area of Valparaiso with colorful houses and lots of nice cafés and restaurants to sit in.
We loved every bit of our stay here and definitely recommend

It is in the best part of Valparaíso, the safest area with excellent restaurants near. The staff is helpful and all speak English. Sophia was my favorite, she was kind and helpful. Pablo the manager was like a long lost friend. You choose your own breakfast options. The value here is incredible. I would return in a heartbeat.

The manager was outstanding, Pablo went out of his way to make our short stay fun and enjoyable.
Its in a great location, but is a pretty basic place without bells and whistles.

This is a quaint and cosy boutique hotel in the heart of the old town of Valparaiso. An excellent spot for those looking to enjoy the city, its views and experiences.

Excellent location. Beware of using Google maps to access this hotel, it may take you down some ‘interesting’ roads. Floors creak a bit

The very friendly staff and the great service! We also liked the atmosphere of the house and recommend it for anyone.

This has been by far, the best option as a stay in Valparaiso. With their peculiar colonial setting and decor, this place is magical. Their rooms are comfortable yet historical. The breakfast is nice and satisfying. The staff is absolutely delightful. I would say, in fact, this is the best hotel I have stayed in Chile. The view towards the sea and the Cerro Alegre. Wonderful location for either business but especially for personal travel. 10 starts and more!

Location, location, location.
This place is AWESOME. If you're looking for a great Valparaiso experience, this is the spot. The top floor has a balcony that looks out over the bay and Valparaiso, awesome for both sunrise and sunset. The property sits on one of the main hills in the old part of Valparaiso and is walking distance to anything you'll want to see. The employees were awesome, and most all spoke English. The hotel itself is gorgeous with lots of character, and the room was comfortable.
Parking is a bit sketchy. You'll either park on the street, or they have a lot nearby you can pay to park in. I chose to park on the street, but was worried about the car because of all the break-in stories.
A few things could improve: the breakfast left a lot to be desired (cold meats, cheeses, grains and yogurt). The coffee was good though! I also thought the shower might be tricky for some people to get in and out of. But really, you're not coming here for the breakfast or the shower, you're coming here for the view and Valparaiso!
I will be back!

Booked to spend the last 3 nights of a 3 week Chile Argentina tour here. Booked a room with a balcony and the view of the bay. The view is stunning, with the balcony perfect for lazily watching the sun set with a glass of wine. The hotel as a whole is nicely furnished, with various bits of furniture. Fruit and drinks are available as required for free from the downstairs open lounge diner. Staff very helpful, including an elongated translating series of phone calls trying to sort out a hire car problem!
The hotel is on a narrow ish street (though not the worst that there are around there) and there is usually a couple of places to park. They also have access to a couple of 3rd party-owned off road parking spaces which cost 15000 peso/night (book ahead). The location allows you to instantly wander out into the historic, heavily be-muralled Cerro Allegre. Most of the nicest parts are within an easy walk, easier going down than up obviously! Breakfast is fairly limited, which reflects the small amount of people staying. Scrambled eggs are available if you ask. All good for me.

checking out of hotel we paid cash. the front desk person was very observant and nervous. in fact she walked outside and watched us for 5 minutes when we got into our car accross the street. my wife had taken cash out of her backpack which she brought into the car with her. we left the hotel and shortly were followed by a red car. when we reached the intersection to leave the Alegre i was watching for traffic and a man walking bumped into our car and walked away quickly. he had stabbed our tire with a knife. apparerntly he got out of the red car unnoticed by me. down the road when i noticed flat tire we pulled over. i noticed the red car turned on street behind us out of sight apparently the men jumped out there. when i started to repair the flat. suddenly there were a few "helpers" as I jacked up the car one kept suggesting "your wife should get out of the car, it is dangerous". foolish me agreed. one guy distracted her with conversation and i was watching tire change. i think the car door was left open. anyway one of them slipped into the front seat and grabbed her backpack from the floor and my cell phone. in retorspect it seems they knew that she had a backpack in front seat and there was money in it.. on top of that the front desk person acted very nervous when we were checking out. i think she called in the wolves that were waiting nearby and told them about the backpack with cash that my wiife had. my friend from Casablanca called later and said she was very nervous

In the middle of the pintoresque Cerro Alegre, close to restaurants the true boutique hotel offers a great stay in its old, beautiful updated house/mansion, flooded with natural light. The wooden floors still creak, just adding to the charme of the place. Personnel is very friendly and helpful. Good breakfast, tea and coffee available around the clock. Nice terraces with the Valparaíso view. Definitively the place to get see and live Valparaíso.

The staff welcomed me and made me feel very welcome. In particular, they were very kind in solving a booking problem that was actually my fault - but went out of their way to resolve it.

We enjoyed our stay here even though we were the only guests. It was not the high season. The breakfast was very enjoyable offering everything you need or want. We were upgraded to a room which had a magical view of the sea. The staff were very good. Just a hint. The hot water needs to run for 15 minutes to have full heat. Otherwise a lovely stay.

Quaint Neighborhood

The hotel was extremely comfortable - lots of places to sit and chill inside and outside if you wanted to rest from walking up and down those hills! Located near many good restaurants and local art and craft shops. The staff were very friendly and helpful in booking restaurants and providing tips for places to visit. This was more expensive than some hotels we looked at, but we thought it was well worth the price. Valparaiso can be tiring (all those hills in the heat!) and this was a welcome cool oasis where we could relax and rest up before dinner.

Located in a very cool area on a hill, this hotel is obviously an old house made into a hotel. Unfortunately, there is no elevator. Be aware, if you are on the 3rd floor.
