The property was clean and quiet. The electricity went out only in my unit at 7am, so I called the number on the office door and texted to report the issue. I in the middle of getting ready for work. I believe the coffee maker caused the issues because it was right after that started the electric went out.

We chose this hotel for a two-night stay for night occupancy only. Our time in Petoskey filled with activities, so just looking for comfortable bedding. Chose the room based on picture, not realizing it was on second floor and my wife does not do stairs well, especially outside stairs. We managed. No one on site, door opened with code. We could not get television reception our entire stay. For older guests not familiar with Roku televisions, I suggest a cheat sheet. Though the room was very nicely outfitted, and the view from the balcony was beautiful I would not recommend this hotel for older guests.

I traveled full-time and I was coming through the area and I needed a place to stay. Easy booking, beautiful property.

Even though it's an older hotel it was very clean and kept up. Very happy with the stay and the location is perfect.

Stayed in Room 1 on 2/18/24. I would have l left a very positive review, but unfortuantely cannot do so. 48 hours after checking out, I found that my torso was COVERED in BEDBUG BITES. I immediately notified Bay Inn by email, but rececived no response. Calling one week later, I was told by an answering service representative (likely based in Asia) that I would have to provide documentation - either pictures of the bedbugs (obviously not possibe as bites never show immediately) or of my body (would involve my stomach, breasts and and buttocks, so obviously refused that). There is no actual person to talk to about this at the property, so no idea if action will have been taken or not. BEWARE! Beyond that (and the murky, cloudy hot tub water), it was lovely.

Loved having our own access from outside. The rooms were in great condition, super cute and comfortable since being renovated. Only complaint is walls are a bit thin, we got stuck with some LOUD neighbors above us. It sounded like they had a big dog that they were playing fetch with and running around. It did not impede our stay, and we also heard no other neighbors.... otherwise excellent all around!! We stayed here to go skiing st Boyne. An easy 20-minute drive with shopping and restaurants in between.

Beautiful Room very modern updates. Very clean couldn't have asked for a nicer room this off the beat motel has a lot going for it including the room we stayed in winter it still was a beautiful. Its just off the main drag so your fairly close to everything and the casino isnt fair either but still have that off the beaten track feeling. The price was right for just a stop off over night stay get up and go in the morning.

Clean and updated rooms. We did have an issue with receiving our door code, but it was promptly solved with a call. As others have noted, the walls are very thin--the guests next door to us arrived very late and we could hear them very clearly. The hot tubs were clean and well maintained.

Lovely little hotel. Room was clean, well stocked with fragrant soaps and delicious coffee and tea. Room had a Roku smart TV which was a nice surprise too. Wish we could have stayed longer. We had fun playing the "Bear" version of connect four too!

I liked the fact we didn't have to check in,they just emailed a code for the door. I don't know if there was someone on site if we had a problem. Also Bay Inn, if you're reading this: put some bottled water in the vending machine.

The room was clean and beautiful, and the bed was incredibly comfy. Really happy we chose to stay here, will be back!

Updated facility is better than my first stay. Hot tubs were nice as well.

We enjoyed our stay, the room was decorated nicely, and we would stay here again. No staff had us concerned at first, but everything was fine.

I wish I would have gotten a single bed with place to sit like in room #15.

A very cute and comfortable place to stay in Petoskey. It was very nicely decorated and had everything you need for a night stay including a hot tub which was a nice addition after a day on the hill. It was a little noisy with the traffic and hearing people through the walls but this was transparent during booking. I would definitely stay again.

The Bay Inn room is was very charming, clean and comfortable. Unfortunately the baseboard heat in the bedroom was not working. Luckily we figured out the electric fireplace and was able to warm up the room. Check in was easy but having someone around would have been helpful with the heat. The off site person did respond with helpful advice about the thermostat but wasn’t able to address the malfunctioning heater. On the whole, love the Whale motif room, terrific bed and great shower! Lovely view too!

The renovation of the rooms is lovely, comfortable and clean. The check-in process is too exact for travelers. Waiting until 4pm exactly. It seems that the code should be ready once the rooms are clean. For the hot tub, may I suggestion, added a fence around them? Maybe a bench to put towels on with wooden hooks on the bench. We travel to Petoskey a lot due to living on an island and this was our first time. Very conveniently located.

Great stay, rooms are clean and tastefully decorated! Plenty of linens.
