The good:
The staff is EXTREMELY helpful! They communicated very clearly through Expedia how parking worked, and that we needed a reservation with a garage 100m away. We also needed to register our car license plate with the city, as the hotel is in a controlled traffic area. The hotel managed the city registration and parking registration for us! Also, directions to the parking garage were perfect. Parking and driving in Ortigia can be challenging, but it's not nearly as difficult as in central Palermo, for example.
The property is an older hotel with "classical" decor, but it's in really good shape. It's very close to the water in the Ortigia area of Syracusa, which is an historic, walkable area. Everything was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good and equivalent in style to other hotels in Sicily.
The bad: Not really bad, but weird? The staff brought up an oscillating fan with a misting feature to help cool the room. It seemed the hotel (and room) had central air, but I guess they don't turn on central air in April? Maybe they wait until summer. Anyway, the room got hot during the day, even with the fan, but we opened the windows at night and let the cool air in.
Also, we asked for restaurant recommendations nearby, and it seems the staff doesn't eat out nearby that much. They did point us to one street and marked a few spots on a map, but couldn't remember the names. We did find an excellent restaurant (Scuola Alimentare) and wine bar (Evoe).

The staff was so friendly and capable. Old time luxury. Needs a bit of a facelift but it’s worth every penny (or euro). Beautiful view!

Nice and cozy hotel kept in the old style. The staff is really nice and serviceminded.

This is a small seafront hotel in the old town of Syracuse. The staff were very friendly and helpful, but perhaps its top feature is the breakfast room not on the ground but on th4 top floor, with excellent views both out to sea and over the old town.

Lovely hotel in ideal location on Ortigia (Siracusa.)
The staff is outstanding, especially Francesca.
Breakfast is a bountiful buffet, on a terrace overlooking the sea - just beautiful.
The hotel is elegant and comfortable. The bathrooms are particularly nice.

Most wonderful old Italian elegance with all latest upgrades. Service at checkin was wonderful. We had booked 2 nights separately. Manager Francesca went above and beyond to coordinate in same room. Breakfast was spectacular! Location was perfect. Highly recommend!

The property amenities are not as advertised. It is not a 4 star. No restaurant, no spa, no piano bar

Really looking forward to comeback.

We were greeted on arrival by a staff member who provided free valet parking for our car, not a small thing given the available parking in Siracusa. We had a large, lovely room overlooking the sea. The included breakfast was very good.

Amazing Property. Best Location and Views in Ortigia. The property really needs to Brag about the Amazing Location with breathtaking views. Service was impeccable. The breakfast was top notch. The rooms were comfortable and nicely decorated with top quality appointments. This is a true standout.

The oceanfront location is fantastic, especially during a historical scale storm. The island is not big, all attractions are within walking distance. The rooftop deck is another plus for viewing the surroundings. The staff at reception are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is also impressive.
I found the hotel itself becoming part of the scenery when searching thru Google picture of Ortigia island.
5.0
The location was great the staff were very accommodating and the views of the water were spectacular. Ortigia is a magical place with great restaurants, shopping, and even some ancient ruins.
5.0
Great location on Ortigia. Staff extremely helpful.
Valeting parking if you request this in advance. Be aware parking on Ortigia is hard to come by so avail yourself of this !
The room was spotless, excellent Jacuzzi shower.
Breakfast good quality and plentiful.
There is a roof Terrace with amazing roof top views over the historical centre.
We would certainly recommend

My first thing to say is, do not book this hotel, look elsewhere. We booked this hotel based on there being a pool and a roof terrace as are listed in the description and shown in the images - both of these are closed...I paid more expecting these and feel completely misled.
The location is nice, so just book another hotel nearby where things aren’t falsely advertised.
The breakfast isn’t good, and a huge concern is the cleanliness of the property. Go elsewhere.

The Hotel Livingston is a wonderful place. Right on the sea wall with spectacular views. Whilst the room we booked wasn't available, the room we had was extremely nice with a small balcony. The staff were terrific with special mention to Theressa, who resolved our room change issue, and Paulo who was fastidious in his arranging the limited parking. Thank you for a relaxing 3 night stay - we plan to return.

I have booked rooms for me and 2 colleagues. All with the option to use the swimming pool and so. We paid the higher price but could not use due to Covid-19. Better would be to cancel that option at the moment …
It is a nice hotel, old fashioned, at the seaside. Good few to the sea.
The breakfast was good, and the personnel friendly and very helpful. If I have to stay in Syracuse again, I will book here.

Had a water view room...amazing! Older hotel that had a few minor room issues, but overall a very pleasant stay. Great location. Some reviews speak of parking issues. We pulled up next to hotel and had a valet take the car to park within minutes. No additional cost for parking. Would stay again.

Great located. Is an old old building but the hotel is well adapted to the building. The decoration is updated and old fashion. The gym is sooo small. But the room , the bed and the bathroom so comfortable. The breakfast delicious. The have parking on site so is sooo convenient! And free!
5.0
I could fish from the room, it was that close to sea. Nice sauna facilities. No good TV or internet in room. Good size room with balcony, superb bathroom. Disappointing food in Sicily...small shrimp, bland sauce and flavors, salty, fishy tasting seafood. My wife sent everything back ! She makes much better Italian food !
4.0
good location and very nice and upgraded. The reception staff should place the customer first and get off the computer or talking to other staff when a guest approaches (1-2 minutes is too long). Breakfast was good but they ran out of items and didnt replenish, even when we brought it to their attention. A bit noisy at night.
