We stay here often to visit my wife's mother in Westbourne. Every one is very friendly. The bar is very reasonably priced. Beds comfy and their prices are very reasonable. It's not 5 star but when you only need a bed for the night it's perfect. Yes the hotels a bit tired in places. If you want to pay twice the amount go 5 star but here is good.

Firstly the positives: the room was warm, the shower worked well, the breakfast was good with very attentive waitress service, there was free parking and it's in walking distance of town. However the hotel consists of a number of random buildings and I suspect in a former life it was a university hall of residence. The whole site needs updating as it is very dated and tired looking, but if you need cheap and basic, this is the place to go.

We read some terrible reviews, so dreaded the visit if I’m honest, but I was pleasantly surprised, yes it’s old fashioned but we actually liked that, reminded us of our Nan’s house…. Swimming pool, pool table, table tennis and chess table was a big hit with kids and dads, was in walking distance from Bournemouth sea front…. Will definitely return ❤️

The hotel was absolutely great and a bargain. Good price accommodation and free parking. We went with friends who also had children and they loved it. They made good use of the games room playing pool and table tennis which was great fun for all the family. Staff were friendly and nice. Nice breakfast. The location was great and walking distance to town. Would definitely stay again.

When we arrived we were greeted by very friendly staff. We got to our room and although it was very dated and old fashioned it was clean and tidy. We went to the swimming pool which was warm and nice. The jacuzzi dosent work very well and just made a gurgly sound.
The shower in the room was small and didnt work initially however after about 10 minutes the water came through and was warm… im guessing it took a long time for the water to come through the pipes. During the night the room was very very cold and there was a draught from the single pane windows which do have gaps in. The radiator was not working. I think it may have been on a timer so wouldent work at night but worked in the evening. The bed was extremely soft and comfortable and we had a very good sleep once we had been under the covers and got warmed up. It was nice to have 2 pillows which is rare in alot of places. We would return again. It could just do with modernisation and a bit of maintenance in regards to old windows maybe putting draught excluder brushes or seals around them and the jacuzzi.

Excessively Trickling over head shower, hole in the shower stand. No privacy in the room as the curtains are too short to cover entire windows when slided. Bed side lamps doesn’t work

We chose to stay at Laguna as it was close to family in Dorset. When we arrived, checking in was ok and staff were very friendly. We went up to our room and it smelt of tobacco smoke, and the duvet cover had quite a large mark on it. We went back to reception to report the issues and were immediately given a new room, which was great.
The new room, was basic, a bit old fashioned with the curtain and carpet patterns, but comfortable. However there were a few issues, which we didn't feel we needed to report, but might be useful to know, so they can be fixed. The shower was leaking from the shower head, and was running down the wall and out onto the floor. There was a shower screen, but the seal had come out, so I put it back in, but it was loose, so water still went on the floor unfortunately. The water was nice and hot though. It was great to have tea/coffee facilities, but the cups were dirty, one had lipstick on, and not my colour either! I think the room would benefit from a really good clean, and updating with new décor and bathroom. The carpet in between the two beds had a gripper rod spike poking through the carpet which was a bit sharp on the bottom of my foot. we were planning to use the swimming pool, but when we finally decided to, it was closed for maintenance and the jacuzzi was empty. I can't comment of the rest of the hotel as we didn't use the bar or restaurant.

It is an old school British hotel. The staff was helpful and friendly. Everything is rather old but well looked after and clean. We had a really nice stay there. Maybe the mattresses in beds could be updated for more comfort but otherwise ok. Please have in mind that this is not a luxury hotel so when planning to stay there please adjust your expectations accordingly.

HOTEL IS VERY AGED, NEEDS SERIOUS INVESTMENT. POOR ROOM STANDARDS, AND SMALL SIZED. NOISY AND CLUTERED FEEL TO WHOLE SITE. PRICEY, CONSIDERING POOR QUALITY OF STAY.

Good price, reasonable condition. Good for the younger children with pool and games room.

The hotel rooms are quite outdated and need modernisation.
Our room was a bit small for 4 of us to share and the bathroom was super tiny. Also we were close to the lift and main stairs so you would hear people talking loudly and the fire door slamming constantly. I would have normally complained about these factors but we were there for a couple of days, to sleep and change and head out so I didn’t see the point.
Also one of the bed sheets had ink marks on it.
The location was brilliant and staff very friendly and helpful so can’t fault that at all.

Would like to have had a night porter on duty. Should cater for Vegans at Breakfast, should have couple of toiletries in bathroom, no shelf in the shower or bathroom to put anything.

The reception staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean and tidy, the bedding was dated ,pillows like sand bags. Not the hotels fault but noisy people in nabbing rooms after midnight. Housekeeping very good.

The property could do with a bit of a facelift as the rooms are a bit dated.
It wouldnt take too much to improve it all.
The room was all was clean and tidy and good enough for what we needed.
As it was the airshow weekend the hotel was a decent price up to anything else available.
The pool was clean and not busy which our 1 year old loved.
The staff were very friendly and were happy to help where needed.
Overall it was a pleasant place to stay especially for the price

***Wish you all the best - hit and miss with this hotel***The property is a block of separate accommodations managed by the hotel. I was offered a ground floor room in a multi-apartment building with separate entrance. The room had non-working facilities - toilet/bath leaky fridge broken no heating option no soap in shower. Also worse than travellodge as one can hear people conversations clearly because of odd placement of doors. Completely not safe to have a normal conversation. Very unrestful night. Also far away from shops (10-15 min walk). Hotel does provide bath soap at a price but this should be advertised as self-catering rather than hotel rooms. To add to more issues expedia booking states parking included but hotel is used for bus/coaches for mass travel so parking gets taken - and hotel website and confirmation email states parking cannot be guaranteed. I had to park in odd place to begin with and shift twice between night and morning to avoid getting car damaged in night by other patrons. The staff was courteous however decided not to make a fuss and ask for proper facilities as was staying only between night (9pm to 9am). Would not recommend to others if they can get other options because here definitely its going to hit and miss. For the price would definitely try other hotels first which have atleast promise a good night rest and basic facilities - working bath/shower/soap

A bit outdated and found Bombay mix down the side of the chair. No batteries for TV remote but luckily for me I had some. Bed was comfortable and slept well. I would stay here again as I liked the location and the price was good.

The room could do with upgrading and decorating, but it was clean and beds were comfortable. The staff were polite and helpful and it was nice to have a drink in the bar after walking back from the beach. Breakfast was ok for the price and sufficient to start the day.

Old fashioned decor and room keys, thin walls so you can hear everything in other rooms. Bathroom was very small. Hot tub was very loud and looked basic. But bed was comfortable and clean. Pool was good size and quite warm. Located in good distance to the pier and beach.

Property not as advertised, said:quiet (near a very noisy road)
Had entertainment (none)
Bar/public areas not open until 6pm
Said they done evening meals (done none) which isn’t very good if you have 2 small children having to drive the into Bournemouth for food☹️
All needs updating. Very disappointed ☹️ in our stay with the grandchildren.

The hotel is good, with free parking and within walking distance of the beach and town centre. It’s also reasonably priced and has a pool

Unfortunately the rooms standard was very poor(broken ceilings and furnitures), no toiletries (only one small soap barr for 3 people in one of the room). Chocolate wrappers in drawers. Very poor standard of cleaning. A lot of spider webs around. Very heavy and hard pillows and blankets. Toilet cover out of place and not fixed. It's a shame because the Hotel is located in a quiet and beautiful area. It definitely needs an upgrade. Staff kind and nice.

Nice friendly hotel. Very well priced and very clean. It is a little tired and is not a ‘modern’ hotel

Terrible, really poor rooms in fact rooms were crap, moved from 1st room as shower had hot water coming out of both taps.2nd room very slightly better but not clean, very noisy doors slamming all night, floor's creaking in corridor, decent breakfast and friendly staff

Was lovely, kids loved it. Relaxed atmosphere. Pool was great and gardens beautiful and the games room kept them busy in the evening. Rooms a little tired and dated (we were in one of the houses on the grounds not main block. But they were clean and nice bedding.

The staff were excellent.
The general condition of the hotel is poor and the rooms are not really that clean, although the linen and towels were.
I wouldn’t go back unless it had a major overhaul.
2.0 / 10.0
The reception person was very nice and helpful. The first room we had the bathroom was made for a size 10, being a slightly chubbier chap we had to move. The 2nd room had an actual bathroom and not a cupboard with a bath. The room had no Aircon and the hotel had no fans, the 2nights we stayed were some of the warmest of the year so the first night was impossible, the sheets kept sticking to you, we bought a fan for night 2 but it didn't help much.
Overall the bed was really uncomfortable, there was mould on the shower and water ingress in the bathroom. We stayed out as long as possible on the 2nd day and checked out as early as possible when we left.
I would love to say the price of the stay was commiserate of the quality but it really wasn't.

Traditional and large seaside hotel of yesteryear. Room was tired but more than compensated for by the exceptionally friendly staff. The breakfast service by a largely young team was the best I have experienced in years! A great place for budget conscious families.
