Great place to stay
1.5
One of the worst leonardos I've stayed in. No where near as good as any of the others I've stayed in. Just the brand here covering up a poor previous hotel

Room is bssic, but was clean and comfortable
Breakfast was tasty and staff were lovely.
I felt it is overpriced and meal was very overpriced

Room was cold even after heating had been on, key didn’t work on our return had to go back to reception then had to call from phone at the lifts as still didn’t work, carpet had numerous stains on it and there was marks on the wall where something had thrown at wall and had been dripping down it

Easy Check in unlike Premier Inn who are awful. Room pretty much standard for this type of hotel. Bed was clean when I checked the mattress so no need to get the dust mite spray out. Bathroom was nice and when I pulled the shower handle towards me got the shower to good temp first time. TV good but no BBC Red button services. I always like to look at the news and sports results last thing at night and in a morning. Lifts work well no need to use door card to get them to work. Breakfast. good all hot food was warm sausages only thing really hot. but that is the infa red lights too hot things dry up. Some potatoes that were very nice as well. Thick bread for toast as well as bagels and crumpets. Two coffee machines. so one of the better breakfast only down side brown and tomato sauce in bowls to help your self rather than the small sachets put me off from getting some brown sauce. Staff was nice and had a nice chat to Charlotte in Reception Who is a top receptionist. would defo stay there again. And it is near the Sage or Glasshouse as it is now known.

Stayed previously and the room was great. Sadly, room 338 was probably the worst condition room I’ve ever seen. Marks all over the walls and chunks missing out of the desk. Urgent need of a refurb.
The rest of the hotel and breakfast were all great.
Arrived just after 4pm and there was no parking available, very expensive locally.

The hotel is in a good location, had a side view of the river, bed was comfortable.
The parking is ridiculous, no where near enough spaces and no room was driven in to get out again, this should be pre booked only and this advised on booking this hotel.

This is my 5th stay at this hotel and I’ve never had a bad experience….

Amazing stay no problems at all, will 100% be returning in the near future!

The bathroom was absolutely disgusting. The sink wouldn’t drain properly, leaving a murky pool of water filled with grime and backwash that just sat there, making the whole room reek. The towels were covered in mysterious stains, looking like they hadn’t been laundered in ages, and I honestly felt dirtier after touching them. The floors and walls were visibly grimy, and there was mold around the base of the toilet and shower tiles. It was clear that cleanliness was not a priority here, and I couldn’t believe the condition of the facilities.

My only problem was with the breakfast, not enough options for the hot breakfast and £16 was extremely pricey for what was on offer

My stay started of fine but went down to dinner on first night and was told i couldnt eat in restraunt as they had a bus group staying said this wasnt acceptable as i was also a guest. I was then told member of staff made a mistake but 2 separate staff members said the same. Then on last night a gentleman asked for a table for 1 and was told he had to eat in bar as they had a bus party I told staff i heard this again excuses were made.

Lovely and clean. Nice room overlooking the river. Really comfy bed. Very handy for The Glasshouse and the city centre of Newcastle is just a short walk away over the Millenium Bridge. Food is pretty average but nice enough. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Parking is supposedly £8.50 per 24 hours but we were charged just £8.50 and we stayed for 2 days. Very pleasant. Would recommend.

Well located but parking was terrible as had to pay high price next door to park. The other option was to park away from the hotel and walk back with overnight bags

Enjoyable comfortable stay as always, amazing reception staff.

Hotel easy to find, clean fresh looking staff all efficient and friendly.
Rooms clean and have everything you need
Hairdryer tea making flat screen tv
Iron and board, good working showers, working free WiFi
Parking £8.50 for 24hrs
Bar area and restaurant nice and cosy, outside seating for nice days,
Didn’t have breakfast but ate in restaurant at night, food was poor the only downside 4 of us had different choices but was very basic and uninspiring,

It's not a four star hotel.

I've been to this hotel a few times now but the last couple of times have been disappointing. This time I was put in an accessible room (I'm not disabled so didn't need one). When I questioned this at reception I was told there were no other rooms available. I checked in a little after 6.00 PM so I find it dificult to beleive the hotel was full at this point. Normally this wouldn't be an issue but I was staying for 3 days and didn't want to take up an accessible room should someone genuinely require it.
Not only that but the room was bland and uninspiring. The bathroom was like a hospital bathroom and I'm pretty sure if I was disabled I would have been disappointed with the lack of decor.
The TV picture also kept breaking up (happens a lot in hotels and is really anoying as they don't do anything even if you report it).
Other than that the view from the room was good and the staff were generally freindly.
The Bar and restaurant were short staffed though and there were often queues to get served.
Parking is restricted and there are only very few spaces available. There is an alternative next door but this is expensive. Another alternative is available but I think this is a short walk away from the hotel.
I don't think I'll be staying here the next time I visit Gateshead.

My stay was amazing, the staff were friendly the place was clean from outside the hotel all the way to the rooms we stayed, nice view good privacy close to the town centre and the location of the hotel was just perfect. The staffs at the bar were nice and funny,

not much choice for dinner

Nice hotel with pleasant staff. Room was spacious and comfortable but looking a little dated and tired, needs a refresh. Stayed here before on the other side of the hotel and the rooms seemed much better. Very short staffed in the bar though.

Car park at hotel full , had to park beside college. Checked in online but still had to give details of room occupancy , abrupt receptionist said checkout is 11am tomorrow …had to correct her & say we were here for TWO nights ! Booked room with river view … window looked out onto car park & buildings but if you stood to left of window you could see millenium bridge & small part of river ! Room was tired looking with paint spots on carpet, veneer chipped off table, bathroom functional but some rough maintenance . Not a very good sleep in one of the beds as felt it was leaning to one side , checked in the morning & the bed only had castors on one side ! Told reception next morning & it did get sorted …they took all the castors off !! When we checked out the girl on reception was pleasant but not once did she ask if we’d enjoyed our stay … I think staff need more training in customer service .

The reception staff and bar staff are soo helpful. I have been a few times and normally visit as the rooms are great if working, comfortable beds. And the staff look after you, they even upgraded me to executive room which I’m grateful for when wanting to work.

Our second visit here and again the service was exceptional. The staff are so friendly and helpful, the wheelchair accessible room was spacious, perfect, the hotel is spotless, the food gorgeous and the bar staff entertained us.

Room was very clean, staff were very helpful and friendly

The property needs an upgrade. For instance, there is no USB plugs to charge mobile phones and the rooms are somewhat dated. The staff was friendly and the hotel is located near the millennium bridge with ease access to the north quay side.
1.5
Advertised on site parking is limited and narrow spaces. Nearest public car park some distance away uphill.
Was kept awake from 6 am every morning because our room was next to the stairwell. I reported to the front desk that the self closer on the fire door needed to be adjusted to stop the door from slamming but nothing was done.
Corridor light shone brightly under the bedroom door. Alarmingly, this showed that the gap between the floor and the door was about 14mm - far in excess of requirements for fire and smoke protection.
4.0
The room was overlooked not only by other parts of the hotel but adjacent office block.
Breakfast buffet, items not replenished and felt lack of attention. Had to leave through back entrance due to front being “wet” but it was wet inside entrance lobby!

The reception service are soo polite and accommodating

Myself & my daughter had lovely stay. Great location. Only disappointment was the staff upon arrival. Uninterested and unhelpful. We felt as if we were a n inconvenience and o there evening! This was our first trip “up north” and we were expecting to experience the jovial Northern welcoming we have heard so much about! Bar and restaurant staff were amazing though!
2.5
Late check in served it's purpose and the hotel is surprisingly close to central Newcastle! Easy room to have a good, solid rest and friendly, helpful staff.

Good value for money. Very clean, bed very comfortable.
