Yhe reception staff were both very good and helpful.

Pros:
The front desk staff were incredibly hospitable and helpful with anything I needed.
Rooms look great and everything is clean.
Wonderful location directly across Herculaneum and near some of the best pizza in the world. 8 minute walk to Circumvesuvia train line
Cons:
Very basic breakfast. Wi-Fi did not work on the 3rd day. No view from my balcony.

Toilets wouldn’t flush. Prompted room move and then the management decided they needed the room they had moved is to. So had to move again. 4 night stay 3 different rooms. Really loud area. Bed/mattress in every room was rock hard but the noise kept you awake anyway. Otherwise v well position hotel for Herculaneum which is literally across the road.

Convenient hotel to visit the ruins at Herculaneum and to catch the Mt Vesuvius bus. The staff were great and there is a nice BYO terraza. The room was clean and has nice new-ish floors but the beds were awful - I felt individual springs and when I took sheets off could see the mattress cloth cover was worn through.
The furniture looked like 1970s kit.
New furniture would totally revamp this hotel - the bones are good.

Great place for a night - so convenient being right outside the Herculaneum park and very close to the train station. Free breakfast was a bonus.

Disgusting. Room was so dirty, literal piles of dirt in the corners. No mattress protectors on the beds. Our room was next to the common toilets and it would smell when someone used the toilets. People laughing and yelling at 2:30 in the morning. I would not recommend this “hotel” to anyone else. More of a glorified hostel.

Located right outside Herculaneum and a short walk uphill to the train station this hotel is very convenient. Perfect if you are getting the late flight into Naples as no public transport is available and long distance taxis are extortionate. (This was €65 which was insane compared to the extremely cheap buses and trains in the day however it was over €150 to get nearer Sorrento) We used this as a base for 2 days to see Pompeii, climb vesuvius and see Herculaneum before moving to Sorrento side. The bus to reach the Vesuvius hike was at the train station a few minutes walk away. Hotel was clean, had aircon, a cute outdoor area and free continental breakfast. Very noisy from the street. Take ear plugs if light sleepers.

Right across the street was the Herculaneum Archaeological Area… which was the last thing to see before heading to Naples airport… which the staff arranged a taxi fur pick up in the morning for us so we could go site seeing!

The pictures on the website look nothing like the hotel. The hotel was dirty, worn and disgusting. The stairs that led to the floor where the bedrooms were located was actually a fire escape. Metal stairs with no backing and outside of the building. Not safe at all. After seeing the hotel and the state of the rooms, we decided not to stay. In all my years of travelling, I have never left a hotel.
The neighborhood is not safe. There is no parking other than a lot a few blocks down the street. You cannot enter the hotel unless you ring the doorbell (which we did repeatedly before there was an answer) and are allowed in. Despite the hotel misrepresenting itself in the pictures on Hotels.com, they refused to refund. I wish I had taken pictures of the rooms to prove the misrepresentation.

The staff were helpful and the breakfast was very nice. It is a good location if someone wants to tour the ruins across the street.
Parking cost extra, which was not a problem for us, but the parking area was not near to the hotel which was a bit of a hassle.

The Hotel was right at the entrance to Herculaneum, so that was very convenient. The staff was very helpful in letting us move rooms as our initial room smelled a bit like sewage coming up the pipes in the bathroom. The city itself is a bit run down and the drivers are aggressive, but visiting the ruins was beautiful and informative as we had a private guide.

Nice staff and reasonably clean room. We had the basic so I didn’t expect large- Breakky was ok
But noisy area and very thin walls, could hear everything next door and around us excellent location for ruins so if you’re only staying one night it’s doable.

The first thing to say is "WOW", what a great place to stay - the entire place was beautiful and was such a perfect stop on our trip to Sicilia. The room was so nice and comfortable we didn't want to leave. The food was incredible and the staff was just over the top awesome !!! We are very picky when we travel about cleanliness, value and customer service - we were so pleased that everything was even better than advertised - we will absolutely stay here again when we get the chance !!!! Bellisimo !! Bella !! Perfetto !!

Nice location with very helpful staff.

It’s a unique place because it is right across from Herculaneum, if that is all you want to do. It didn’t seem very safe, and there is not really much else to do. Nothing special, needs updating in general.

This is a great little hotel. There is a little more wear and tear than the photos suggest, but the hotel is incredibly clean and clearly well cared for and my room was very comfortable. The rooftop patio area is absolutely fantastic, and the location couldn't be better for a visit to Herculaneum. I found the staff utterly wonderful to deal with.

Fantastic stay, Roberta at reception was so friendly, welcoming and ready to help with all enquiries.
The room was clean, comfortable & the breakfast, whilst basic, was a good start to the day. Thank you for letting us order extra cappuccinos.
Would definitely recommend this Hotel, its proximity to the ruins site could not have been more convenient.
A great stay, thank you!

The hotel was super cute. Breakfast was great. Staff were amazing. Not the most convenient location if wanting to visit naples via piblic transport but great for pompeii and other sites in the region.

Great location for Herculaneum and ten minutes walk to train station for Naples or Amalfi coast
3.0 / 5.0
The room I purchased was not the room I was provided. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The elevator only went to the second floor. The front door locks behind you so you have to be buzzed in.

Such lovely staff and always so helpful with information on how to get around amd places to visit. Perfect location, literally just across the street from the roman ruins of Herculaneum, a short walk to the royal palace of Portici, and 2 train stations where you can easily get trains to Pompeii in 20 minutes, and Sorrento or Salerno in an hour and then on to the wonderful day trips along the Amalfi coast by bus or boat, and also to Naples in 20 minutes. Highly recommend

The Good: The reception staff at the hotel were brilliant. They were happy to get the double bed re-made into two singles so that me and my two kids could each have separate beds. They were also really helpful when it came to lending us a corkscrew, plates and glasses so that we could eat a supermarket meal on the terrace.
The location was great!
The breakfast was decent.
The less good: There was a real shortage of sockets in the room to recharge electricals - you had to unplug a light to plug in a phone. Also, the power was very slow - it took ALL night to charge one device, so it was tricky to get anything charged up properly.
The decor was a little tired & it was quite dusty under the beds.

Can’t beat location for archeological site. Used hotel parking which is further than it seems. Get staff to load map on phone. Room 211, many steps, renovated. Many places to walk for food or drink. Good breakfast.

Clean, bright hotel with lovely outdoor rooftop lounge. Nice breakfast and helpful staff. Excellent location for trips to visit Herculaneum.

Friendly staff, comfortable room, good breakfast and ideal base to visit herculaneum and pompeii! Right across the road from the gate to herculaneum and you can wander in and see the site from above-magic!!

The staff at Hotel Herculaneum are very very friendly and helpful.
To go to Napoli you need a car or you can go easily by train.
There are plenty of pizza places around, next to the hotel there is an Italian tavern with specific local Napolitan cuisine.
We were very happy and we recommend

Everything about my stay was great. The staff is incredible. They were the friendliest and most helpful. I highly recommend this hotel, and wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. I was floored by the level of service.

Staying in Ercolano and at this hotel was a very fortunate decision.Driving to Ercolano to stay, we were driving and avoided any confusing traffic. (We chose a, January visit which was a really good idea.)
This hotel has parking a block away, which you arrange by contacting the front desk staff. They are friendly, helpful and speak English well.
The hotel is directly across Hurculaneum! Our room (201)looked over the front gates.
Clean hotel, not fancy schmancy, but comfortable. Excellent price, and of course, off-season.
I ssuggest staying a few days... Hurculaneum one day, and train to metro to Naples and the Archaeological Museum. Train station is an 8 minute walk away, and takes you to Garibaldi/Central station, with Metro L1 to stop Museo. ( Metro was beautifully clean).
Hotel also has beautiful outside area for breakfast and lounging, but didn't relax long enough to enjoy. Next time!
Having trouble uploading photos. Too bad. Have some good ones.

The room was very small. Could barely walk around the bed and was worn. Frig didn't cool. Not what we expected from photos. The front desk lady was rude. The maid and food service staff were great and the breakfast was nice. The location right across from the ruins was perfect. Noisy at night with fireworks. It had lots of stairs and no view.

The property itself was fine. A bit outdated and older. Overall perfect for what we needed. Not the cleanest place and the area was not very busy and not well lit at night. It did not feel unsafe though. The area was not easy to get around without a car.
My biggest issue is with Expedia as what we booked was not what we recieved at the site and ended up having to pay more than we already paid because our booking didn't match the actual property.

Hotel was very nice, only slight issue was we were missing one curtain so it was bright, but it didnt bug us enough to bring it up when we arrived. Would recommend

The staff is so very friendly and helped me arrange a taxi for my early morning flight. The area felt safe, multiple little places to sit down in eat within walking distance and could pretty much overlook the little cafes from the balcony in my room. Bathroom in the room is a little worn but ok for my one night quick stay. Would recommend!
