As on previous visits, the staff were uniformly helpful and friendly.
Bar/restaurant serves a good range of evening meals.
Metro line 3 (linking Airport to Syntagma and Piraeus) is within 10 minutes walk

I had a great stay. Everything was perfect to my tastes. The staff was congenial and attentive. My room was one of the cheaper spaces so it was smallish but just right for my needs. The complimentary morning buffet was unusually good, and the nieghborhood was very nice... nothing could have been more to my liking. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars on the top line was that it isn't really what I think most people would think of as a 5 star facility. It is more like a 4 star facility that does really great work. I'm happy I stayed there and completely recommend the place

I pass through Athens regularly for work and like staying at the Athinais. It’s right on the Metro line to the airport, in a busy and safe area. It’s only 2 metro stops from Syntagma and 3 stops from Monastiraki (Plaka), so you’re out of the most crowded tourist areas but still can reach them quickly. And they are always well run - clean, secure and the staff are very helpful.

Convenient location, near the center of the city, metro station is nearby and bus stop is just a few steps away, very friendly and helpful staff, clean and quiet room, very good breakfast and very safe area.

The staff warm and helpful. Location convenient. Hotel cafe fine with pleasant homemade cakes.
The rooms are in need of renovation. Room had old smell to it. AC made noise. Bathroom dated, tub shower didn’t work easily. Had to request slippers, and extra towels.

I arrived a little early for my room to be ready at 3pm, but when it was ready about 20 minutes later, I think that I got the best room in the place: top floor and with an excellent view over the city. As always, the staff were very courteous, the breakfast buffet was wonderful, and I know that I will be back again. For these reasons, and because it is on the subway (Metro) line to/from the airport, it has been my go-to hotel in Athens since 2017.

Convenient Athens hotel. Close to public transport and walking distance to restaurants and many other amenities. Rooms are standard and spotless - very clean. Lifts are small though. Breakfast is awesome! Staff are lovely and very helpful.

Well situated within 10 min walk of metro accessing old city.
Staff was excellent.
Great breakfast.
Hotel needs a little renovation, especially carpeting in hallways.
Street is noisy and traffic can be heard in rooms unless you are in back or high floors.

The Athinais Hotel was excellent. As a solo traveller the room was very spacious for one person. Breakfast was also excellent. Location to two public metro stations (7 min each way) was also very convenient coupled with the 5 day metro pass you can get for 8.50 Euro. A great place to stay to explore the city from if you are comfortable with using public transit and want to be removed a bit from the wall to wall people of Syntagma Square.
The area around the Athinais hotel was a bit narrow with tons of cars parked so having to walk on the roads behind the hotel had to happen (also there was a lot of graffiti but thats more of an Athens thing) but there were plenty of amazing restaurants right around its location.
Overall the hotel was amazing and i would highly reccomend staying here. I know I will be next time I find myself in Athens.

Best breakfast buffet in Athens (and I've been going to Greece for almost 40 years now). On a very busy street, but all the rooms have good soundproofing and are quiet. A/C works well. Very friendly and helpful staff. My go-to hotel in Athens since 2017.

The Athinais is a very safe and clean hotel with super friendly staff and a good location (close to metro). There are restaurants and grocery stores nearby and you can get all over the city via the nearby metro, which is relatively easy to use. The internet is decent and breakfast is included in the price. The price is very moderate for the amenities, although some courtyard rooms have funky views. I was able to book a tour with pick up and drop off at the hotel, even though it is a smaller hotel. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I’m sure I’ll return to Athens in the future and I would definitely stay at the Athinais.

They allowed early check in as there was availability and we found answers to all of our questions about the city transport. Quiet, clean and comfortable room, great breakfast with traditional Greek pastry and fresh orange juice. The location is not at the heart of the city, but the metro station is 5 mins away and the bus station is 2 mins away just in front of the hotel. Syntagma is 10 mins by bus and 15 mins by metro including the walk.

Is a very good choice if the location that you will be works. Is a good value for the price and loved the breakfast .

wE HAVE STAYED AT THIS HOTEL ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS/ IHE ROOMS ARE VERY GOOD, THE MEALS ARE FINE AND THE BREAKFAST EXCELLENT. IT'S QUITE CLOSE TO METRO STATIONS AND BUSES AND TAXIS ARE READILY AVAILABLE.THE STAFF ARE FRIENDLY AND VERY PROFESSIONAL AND THE PRICE VERY REASONABLE.

The hotel is very conveniently located and usually priced at value rates. Nevertheless, while the common spaces are renovated, the rooms are outdated/old (but well maintained). The breakfast is basic (not even a juice was on offer), while the staff could be friendlier.

Very well located. Good bars and restaurants close by. Easily accessible by the metro. Close to the center

The main reason for my choice was , proximity , since I had to work on an office on the other side of the road. The room was spacious and big enough for a single traveller. Adequate cleaning everyday. Personnel was helpful , friendly and professional. Breakfast with good variety and really tasty . The hotel is really well taken care of. Location is really convenient with direct metro to the airport and really close to Athens downtown . The area around is safe with a lot of options for food and drink .

The Athinais is an affordable hotel located literally around the corner from various sit-down eating places as well as walk-up
eateries serving Greek favorites. There is also a small grocery store nearby. The US Embassy, Megaro Moussiki entertainment hall, and a subway station are all in easy walking distance. The hotel's rooms are good-sized and the sleeping rooms as well as the bathrooms are kept clean and tidy by a very thorough maid staff. The beds are comfortable and the rooms have good sized closets, a room safe, and clever pieces of furniture that do double duty, such as the luggage rack with drawers beneath. Rooms also have a container to collect recyclables.
Depending on your reservation, breakfast may be included in your room rate and some rooms have balconies that face the highway but are still nice to take advantage of on a sunny day. I had to make two separate reservations but upon my arrival the hotel connected them so I would not have to check out and check back in mid-stay. There is also a small cafe operating near the lobby that serves coffee drinks and sandwiches. I highly recommend this bright, clean hotel and plan to stay again!

It's clean and comfortable and not bad for a night or two, however it's pricey. Their food menu is a tad boring and breakfast is somewhat limited. I guess this can apply to all of Greece, that is, you CAN'T enter most places WITHOUT a covid vaccine. If you don't have a covid vaccine, Athinais requires you to get a pcr or rapid test every other day for as long as you're there, absolutely ridiculous! Would not stay there again.
