Another outstanding stay, 10/10! Keep up the excellent work!

Absolutely stunning boutique hotel, rooms amazing, bars classy and the terrace restaurant was great. Will be back soon!

By far the nicest hotel I’ve stayed in, we had a king size bed which was stunning and there were 2 different really cool bars which we tried. The staff were friendly and both bar tenders in particular really looked after us. We want to come back again.

Strange setup with a bathtub in the center of the room, but everything else is very good.

Friendly and welcoming on check in, room was ready early and was absolutely gorgeous, such comfortable bedding and room had everything we could possibly need and more.

Great lication. Loved the very unique rooms and The Gin & Juice Bar

This hotel is stunning.
I always generally book thought hotels.com but do feel you get preferential treatment if you book direct with this hotel and now no for next time.
I booked the second room option up and it said separate bath and shower but there was no bath in our room.

The room was amazing. Ceiling was at least 12’ high. Unfortunately, there were two problems with the room: it smelled musty and the toilet (a Crapper) did not flush well. By the way, the shower was incredible.

Incredible stay in such a lovely room, lots to do in the area too for nice drinks/dinner/walks

Absolutely Incredible Stay. We visited No 131 for my wifes birthday. As we arrived anc checked in the staff were so welcoming and carried out bags to our room. We went for the deluxe double and it was gorgeous. An old building but very stylish and clean. The weather was very hot when we visited and there was an aircon unit in the room which was a fantastic thought.
We also ate at the restaurant there and the food was phenomenal, one of the best meals we have eaten. The staff were so knowledgeable and helpful, food and drinks were great.
Will definitely be coming back and use this hotel and whole venue for special occasions.

Lovely hotel, very disappointed with room. Room not as described on Hotels.com

The attic bedroom was difficult to access and claustrophobic. The staff were excellent and alternatives were found. Dinner was most disappointing and one plate was returned uneaten. Perhaps we were unlucky !

Excellent hotel right in the centre of Cheltenham

Great stay always!

A really comfortable stay for our baby moon. Extra pillows as requested. Amazing bar and restaurant. I’ll have to come back for the sushi, post baby.

Friendly staff, great location and really useful info sent through in advance. The hotel also called beforehand to check we had parking info and if we had any questions. Room was well resourced (we even had a hair diffuser attachment to the hairdryer!)

Room was amazing. Hotel is a little unusual without a main lobby so just be prepared for that. The staff was really unfriendly and unhelpful. It felt like we were inconveniencing them by just being there. Not the type of service you expect for a nice boutique hotel like this

Great period hotel. Rooms have a fantastic bed, top notch in room tea and bathroom amazing.
TV in room brilliant too.
Bar downstairs but did not use.

Breakfast is a la carte and lovely
Expensive, no gym

The room was horrible. Really hot with useless air conditioning. Bed and pillows too soft. Property had no lift

This hotel is lovely. My room was absolutely gorgeous with a wrought iron staircase leading down to an equally gorgeous bathroom.
I had dinner at Yoku and lunch and breakfast at The Terrace. All of the meals were really nice. It's in a great location too.
(Good, discreet management of security around recent public disturbance).
Am planning to go again.

Such a tasteful and well executed hotel. All the little thoughtful items even down to the hand soap. Highly recommend!

Beautiful hotel, great location, considering there are steps everywhere it would have been nice if our bags were automatically taken by a staff member and brought to the room.

Wonderful vibe, luxury boutique

This is a lovely boutique hotel in the heart of Cheltenham and it was central for shopping and nightlife. The hotel itself was a hub for eating, drinking and socialising, which was great when you wanted to be part of everything but it did mean that we could still hear all of the noise & music when we went to bed at 1am. We fell asleep eventually. However, the room and facilities were super and we still enjoyed our stay. Loved the decor and the atmosphere.

This is a lovely hotel in an excellent location, staff were good and the one problem we has was quickly resolved. would stay here again.

This hotel has exquisite attention to detail. Not only is there a hairdryer, but it is a Dyson. Not only are there q-tips, but they are sustainable and presented in a corked glass tube in a fabric bag. The towels are large and luxurious as are the robes. The milk for yiur complimentary tea comes in a foil topped bottle, the sugar cubes are the same brand I choose for my home. The bathtub was huge and had a basket to hold the provided (excellent quality) bath salts, wash cloths and my book. The toilet was separate from the sink and bathing area which I really love. Even the wall paint had a luxurious, suede-like texture. We ate at the restaurant 131 and were served by Lara who was truly excellent. Friendly , knowledgeable, helpful and professional. The food was first rate from the crab gazpacho to the double Gloucester souffle to the steak frites to the lemon tart with rasberry sorbet. I had the Paloma cocktail and it was on par with Colin's concoctions at the Hemmingway Bar in Paris, or The Ramen Shop in Oakland. I love this place and look forward to returning as soon as possible.

Very disappointed. After working a long hard day at the Town Hall nearby, really wanted to unwind with a quiet beer and relax. Fridge in room full of cocktails in cans but not a beer. Hotel bar - closed (looked nice). Bar in basement - no beer, plenty of overpriced gin though. Really strange. The room itself was nice but ridiculously hot, could barely sleep it was that warm. Great bathroom however. On arrival a lady checked in moments beforehand - struggling to get a large case up their staircase - none of the staff offered to help. I’ll stick to the Queens next time. And their car park?? It’s just the road outside.

I have stayed in a few hotels in Cheltenham over the years and 131 is just fabulous. Lots of quirky charm and really wonderful service.

Although pricey, the rooms are far more high end than the Queens. I had a fantastic room. Brilliantly comfortable. Only gripe was a really noisy family with young children next door.

We had an amazing stay at Hotel 131 The Promenade, recommended by a friend who also had a great experience. We opted for one of the high-end rooms, which was huge with an amazing and extremely spacious bathroom. The hotel staff were very attentive and the service was excellent. The atmosphere was very buzzy, with bars and even a DJ outside, making us feel like we were at a beach club.
As a couple, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to return. The hotel is very fun and beautifully decorated. The only minor drawback was that the room was quite dark, even with all the lights on, and the corridors had some marks on the walls from suitcases, which affected the presentation slightly. However, apart from that, we will definitely be rebooking.
Highly recommended for a vibrant and luxurious stay!

Lovely building walking distance to shops and restaurants, room was lovely, very comfy too, restaurants were great and a really nice breakfast, will definitely return , recommend asking for a quiet room which we did .

The hotel is in a central location with restaurants and shops either side. The staff looked after my son who suffers from severe food allergies. Ahmed, was very attentive and helpful! Thank you :-)
However, it is very noisy until the early hours of the morning. It is not a cheap hotel and we did not get a good nights sleep because of this! There needs to be a restriction on the timings for the bars downstairs as the noise seems to be a common problem.

This looks like an amazing hotel and once I found reception, through the restaurant I had a friendly welcome. However if you want a restful nights sleep I would steer clear.
The ac makes a lot of noise. I turned it off but it kept making a noise. It eventually turned off.
It turned itself on again( the noise not the actual air) at around 5.20 in the morning like the most annoying alarm clock.
I phoned reception and he managed to reset it outside my room. Just as I was was sleeping again it turned itself on again so loud.
I gave up and checked out. I told the new receptionist but they didn’t seem bothered. Save your money and go elsewhere if you want a restful night

The outdoor bar Gin and Juice was a tropical paradise with fun cocktails and a lovely garden setting. The Japanese restaurant was also excellent. Staff were very friendly and our room was large and beautifully appointed. We'll plan a trip to Cheltenham just to stay in the hotel again!
