Room absolutely stunk of cigarettes. The staff tried their best to freshen the room but didn’t really improve it.

Late arrival and an early start wasnt helped by alot of noise from other rooms until early hours. Sounds travel easily between rooms and floors. Breakfast was disappointing with slow service and disinterested staff

NO HOT WATER FOR TWO DAYS
ITS WINTER!! UNBELIEVABLE!!
There was no resolution to this major issue, very uncomfortable and angry at the fact no hot water!! Which is the basic amenities you would expect!
2.0
No radiators working (5 degrees outside) tiny fan heat supplied which had to be kept on all night to avoid freezing. Cold toast was supplied for breakfast as chef was ill (paid for breakfast as park of the booking). Mould in the bathroom. Persistent dripping tap and leaking pipes. Car park unavailable (chose hotel as it had a car park).

Has to be one of the worst stays ever.Glass over bathroom floor, holes in the walls, ment to be a sound proof room but we could hear the music from the party over 4 floors away, ended up walking around in the town till midnight to get some peace. Staff didn't really care.

First impressions not very good. The reception desk had many tins of paint behind it which looked untidy. The welcome wasn’t great and once I got my room key there was no obvious sign as to where the rooms were on each floor - you had to go through an unmarked door to get to the rooms, hence I had to go back to the desk and ask for directions.
The hotel wasn’t as smart as I’d been expecting but my “Delux Queen” room was tidy and clean with a nice size bed, a good size “smart” TV and a nice view over the River Medway. There was a separate bathroom which was a decent size, clean and tidy, with a shower over bath, however the ceramic tiled floor was cold underfoot, and there appeared to be a small leak of water or condensation around the toilet and sink pedestal.
The breakfast was adequate but far from exciting. It was served lukewarm on the first two mornings however on the 3rd morning it was served a bit hotter. They had apple juice but no orange juice.
The hotel information stated the hotel had free onsite parking but during my stay the parking area was actually closed off for some reason. I did manage to park on the small forecourt though.
I thought the hotel was conveniently located as it was close to the High Street and to the bus & rail stations, and approx 25 minute walk to Rochester’s Cathedral and Castle. I initially booked a two night stay but I decided to book an extra night in order to visit the castle and surrounding area.
I would rate the hotel 6/10

Good value for money

We walked out 10 mins after seeing room it was a disgrace full of damp and freezing cold as they left all the windows open to hide the smell of damp but most of the double glazed windows had blown. Booked a different hotel in the room before handing the keys back and leaving. Would like my money back please.

Simple basic hotel close to Chatham high street. Good TV and WiFi. Room cold (no heating on) meaning towels stayed damp, etc. Breakfast reasonable (bacon, egg, sausage, beans, filter coffee) but seems there's only one person doing the cooking and serving, so can need to wait long time to place an order. Used to better.

Great priced room, with river view.
Overall I am really happy with the customer service from Connor from front of house team on Reception.
Exceptional customer service, professional and always so friendly, a great asset to the hotel.

Little advice, choose another hotel.
On the website/or in the email I wrote them the previous night they forgot to mention that the parking lot can only be used after 4pm.
Room on the 4th floor, everything smells of dirt and very dated (like 30-40 ys old), carpets, bathrooms etc. View to parking lot/back of buildings and fire staircase. Room had a horrible smell, including bathroom that was like bleach/dirty mop mixture. No fridge, no hairdryer. Bed had a big dip in the mattress.
Breakfast room again very dated. 3 different cereal, warm breakfast and toast. No meat cuts, yoghurt.

An absolute disgaceful dump of a hotel. Dirty outdated rooms and staff with no interest or training. They say you can only park your car after 4.30pm which is terrible. The car park at the hotel itself is used for a select few whilst others have to park around the back in an unsecure unautorised car park. It is not always got spaces and there is no parking other than residents parking within half a mile. Never again....and I never normally complain...

Brilliant value for money 2nd stay here we will be back

The bed was seriously broken in the first bedroom I was allocated, to the extent that I cannot understand how the staff could have made up the bed without reporting it.
The hotel was rather in need of an overhaul generally.

Excellent customer service from Conor on reception.
Very accommodating, helpful, friendly and professional.
Great view of the river and onsite parking which is a bonus!

The staff were friendly on check in, giving all the information I needed. However, the room wasn’t exactly what I was expecting for £60. The mattress was very worn and the pillows very firm. Despite the listing, the rooms were far from soundproof as I could hear the tv in the room next door. It was an okay room but you’d fair much better at the Chatham maritime travelodge for the same money

I have found my stay good.
The manager Layla and receptionist Conor very accommodating, friendly and helpful.
Free onsite parking which is great bonus.

I knew this was a budget hotel when I booked it, so I did not have expectations that I would have of a more expensive hotel. I booked two separate rooms. Both of our rooms had terrible beds, such as no padding between springs and top of mattress and an actual horizontal crevice in one of the beds.
The breakfast was cooked as advertised. There was no working coffee machine and only a thermos of hot water for tea. When I asked for a paper napkin, I was pointed to a roll of paper towels on the counter. I would not stay at this hotel again
2.0
Room not overly clean, very noisy with soil pipes from other rooms running through it, no soap or shampoo provided and generally very tired hotel in need of at least a repaint.

Ideally located hotel for local wedding

Before we travelled I rang to confirm we had a twin room, was assured we did, on arrival it was a double so we had to be given a different room. First morning found the shower hose was split so shower didn’t work properly which we reported but nothing was done about it.
On the plus side, the beds were really comfortable.
Won’t be back.

We liked the location but not the area, as
It felt unsafe. Hotel was okay the staff were very friendly and helpful but don't know why the reception staff had to also serve at the bar as well as heating up food that guests bought from a takeaway.

Good price. Not fancy. Practical for low budget travellers.

Very nice staffs and very good breakfast.

Reasonably cheap option. Perfectly decent rooms and staff all friendly enough. There was an issue at times with the lack of staff trying to run the reception, bar and deal with all others issues but other than that we had no serious complaints. Yes it looks a little tired in some places but it is clean and the car park is a real bonus. I would book the more expensive rooms if possible (they are not expensive) as the standard double can be very cosy with only just enough room to walk around the bed. The bigger rooms are a significant upgrade. I'd stay here again without pause. Very good value for money

Very helpful

Tiny room, window only opened an inch, small ineffective fan. No toiletries supplied, only available if you wanted to purchase separately. No staff on reception or in bar when we went down to enquire about an extra fan and a hairdryer. More like a hostel than a hotel.

Tired and in need of redecoration and upgrading. Cold water tap would not turn on. Did not expect the room that is used to advertise the property but expected better than the room allocated.

Place looked very tired not that clean but staff were friendly

Room was dated needs a good refurbishment

Not to happy about the breakfast in the morning as you have to wait a bit longer than it used to be,the reason being it used to be a buffet breakfast which was great,,Also evening meal was advertised But cos the chef went on holiday the meal wasn’t covered by anyone…
4.0
It was welcoming.

This place was brilliant I’ve booked another weekend
6.0
OK room but generally scruffy and a terrible shower. Breakfast room was not cleared away with crumbs everywhere, but the food was fine
2.0
The hotel was not as advertised. This is not hotels.com fault, I think the hotel have been selective of which room they took a photo off. This hotel seems to be used by contractors, this isn't a problem but dont expect boutique or chic, expect rough and ready. The room was basic, ok but not was expected. Little things like some bleach in the bathroom would make a huge improvement. The hotel itself was scruffy, the staff were rude and did not care. Breakfast was appalling, nothing worked, the food was terrible.
8.0
Plus side breakfast and parking included
Very friendly staff
Rooms were tired but clean
Room service was a bit lacking as in beds not made and towels not changed on third night
Overall good value
