The resort is situated in a good location for leaf peepers. We stayed for the award-winning disc golf courses, and were very pleased with our experience. From day one, it felt like we were at home. There are plenty of activities, and the staff were friendly and thoughtful.

Since we booked through Hotels.com we weren't allowed to use anything on the property without paying, even pools. We were unaware of this when we booked so we had 5 very bummed kids. It would have been over $500 for all 7 of us to have access- not worth it. We ended up driving to Jay Peak for the day and using their nicer water park for much less. Our room was okay. Spacious and clean but linens were dirty & stained, not enough pillows (had to call down twice before we got any) king bed was awful, tub didn't work and shower door was crumbling leaving glass shards on bathroom floor.

We made a reservation for a King bed in one room and a Queen bed with twin beds in the second room.
We arrived to a VERY small condo that had a Queen bed squished into one room and bunk beds on the wall of the second room. NOT HAPPY.
The Resort explained to us, that this was not rented through the resort website. Thankfully, they were EXTEMELY gracious and able to find us something else.
Smuggs saved our stay!!! We were all able to enjoy our Son's, surprise 30th Birthday Party.
If you have a chance, please do yourself a favor and check out the Boyden Winery. It was Amazing!!

Stayed two nights here during the summer as part of a larger trip. After several nights in hotels, it was nice to stretch out in a condo and catch up on laundry. The kitchen was well stocked and we were able to eat in for a few meals. The staff was nice and there were activities for everyone. There were a few weird rules about which pools we could and couldn’t use without paying extra for some sort of card, but that didn’t affect us much. I could tell this place would be a ton of fun in winter.

Enjoyed our 3 bedroom condo. Very large and comfortable for 7 of us. We were close to the fun zone and indoor swimming pool . My daughter and partner and daughter went skiing. Loved the convenience of country store. It was a very enjoyable weekend! The room with 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms was appreciated. Kitchen was well wet!

Close proximity to the mountain but not ski on/ski off so that was misleading.

1st timers, we stayed in a 3 bedroom condo in the Aspens Community and it was great! The resort is beautiful, every staff member we encountered was very friendly and accommodating. Aspens has a heated outdoor pool which was perfect temp and great to relax in while taking in the landscape! Primary bedroom had a 2 person jacuzzi tub-perfect! Resort is well-organized, we will stay again!

My family and I had a great stay at Smuggs. The crisp clean air and natural beauty of northern Vermont is truly rejuvenating. Booking on Hotels.com is a little different than booking directly with Smugglers Notch Resort. I think you are renting an unoccupied timeshare and the price is quite a bit lower than booking with Smuggs, but you also do not get the "Daycation" access to the indoor pool, tubing, and funzone or Mountain lifts. You have to pay for that separately which is actually a big cost saving opportunity as you can just buy it on the days you want instead of every day of your stay. If everyone in your family is skiing and doing activities every day, it might make more sense to book directly with Smuggs. The Wyndham Evergreen condo building we were in was directly next to the Morse Mountain lift and Sir Henry's learning hill which was very convenient. The kids room had a 3 twin beds and the master bathroom included a whirlpool tub that I wasn't expecting and added an extra treat to the stay. My skis and bindings were too out of date to be adjusted by the Staff at the Three Mountain Equipment shop, but they were kind enough to show me how to adjust everything myself (liability issue for them). My kids are only 4 and 2 so I'm looking forward to when they can enjoy a few more winter activities, but they did have a great time sledding on saucers and playing at the FunZone as well as sitting in the whirlpool tub. Looking forward to enjoying Smuggs again next winter!

We had always wanted to go to Smuggler's Notch, but it was always out of our reach financially-speaking. We decided to check out the resort once again while we were exploring lodging options for our recent visit (early November) to Vermont to explore college open houses for one of our sons. Smugg's turned out to be the best option for us! While we weren't there that long (only three days), we had a great time at the resort, especially swimming int the outside heated pool and playing pool and ping pong in the game room. We will definitely want to stay again, but knowing it will have to be in the off-season, which is okay with us.

A very nice and large condo. Patio was very nice.
A bit of a drive to Stowe but worth going throough the Notch everyday.

Loved staying at Smuggs. We were impressed with how clean our room was with all the small appliances, bathroom, and living areas. The beige carpets were a little stained but it didn’t bother us especially since we know it’s more of a ski resort. Peaceful and quiet.

I booked a deluxe condo in August, exactly 2 months prior to our scheduled arrival date of Sunday Oct 10. On Friday afternoon Oct 8, I received an email that our reservation was cancelled due to "unforeseen circumstances" and no further assistance would be given to us to find another place to stay.
Luckily I booked this on Expedia who worked with us to find availability elsewhere, and Expedia covered the difference EXCEPT for any additional resort fees. Those fees amounted to an additional $100.00 more than the resort fees we would have paid for the condo and our room was reduced to a hotel room with 2 queen beds due to availability issues in the area.
While this can't be proven, Wyndham Smugglers Notch Resort is a huge place and I suspect they overbooked kicking us to the curb to make more money at the last minute given this week was peak foliage and all the hotels were charging insane prices (our last-minute hotel-only room charge and tax was $600.00 more than the condo - thank you Expedia).
I would not trust these people ever again and I'm sure they have a lame excuse for their inconsiderate attitude almost killing our vacation less than 2 days prior to our arrival with no help to relocate us. Look elsewhere, next time it could by you.

This was very disappointing. Nothing was open. We paid a resort fee for absolutely nothing. We chose this place so we wouldn't have to leave the resort and learning that nothing would be open upon arrival was not ok (and this was a very busy travel weekend). We were told that they can't staff the place. That's completely understandable, but we should have been told ahead of time and should not have to pay a resort fee for nothing.
The rooms are outdated, but fine. The carpet was wet and dirty. The microwave was filthy. We won't go back. We'll stay in Stowe instead where we can find a grocery store. (We bought cheese from the country store that was spoiled and other items which were out of date)

The Smuggler’s Notch was such a beautiful area, and Wyndham’s place had a significant impact on having all of the comforts of home right at your finger tips. The place was clean, spacious and welcoming. This was our fourth time back with Wyndham at this specific location. My friends and I had a great time there. Highly recommend!

Overall I felt the area was nice, however I was disappointed that all of the restaurants except for one was closed while I was there. I attempted to go the one open restaurant and was told they were so busy and they could only offer me take out that would take at minimum 45 minutes. I think I saw literally 3 tables with people at them when we went inside so we opted to go into Stowe to get food when we wanted to stay in. Also the complex I stayed it was incredibly muggy when you walked in.

Great space. Clean and comfortable. Kitchen worked great. Not enough plates, though. Bathroom was big and clean with lots of towels. Living room was comfortable. Bed was comfortable but the pillows were a little too hard. Lots of extra bedding. The windows were hard to open and close because the furniture was placed right in front of them. Check out time was too early and they have you empty your own trash cans, which was weird. Balcony was nice. The heated pool could have been warmer. The address doesn't work in the GPS and sends you to the wrong place, just plug in the title of the resort.

Everything was fine except the temperature in our room was too hot. We turn the thermostat to off but the base board heaters were still on. We had to leave some windows open to cool down. Which worked but seems like a waste of electricity.

The room was nice, but had a two major issues. First was there was a small window AC in the living room area that was supposed to cool off the entire condo, including bedrooms. Very insufficient. In 2nd bedroom, there was such poor airflow, I had a hard time falling asleep, I felt suffocated. Second was in the room the TV is 90 degrees to the living room area. At night when relaxing it was useless. Why not put it over the fireplace? Stupid room design. During registration, I was surprised about the $55 per person, per day, just to use a swimming pool. I was told it was part of the “resort day fee”. This was for outdoor pools in September. Really?
The “straw that broke the camels back” was I turned in my room keys and before I even made it back to my car I was called by the Resort informing me there was a $50 “Resort Fee” owed. I went back inside and ask what the fee was for and they just said “Resort fee”, use of the “Resort”. I said my use of the resort was only the road the the room, but they just insisted I pay this “Resort Fee”.
I have family within 30 minutes drive from here, and will be looking for somewhere else to stay next month. and I highly recommend staying elsewhere.

Checkout here said 11 am, cleaners came into our condo without announcing themselves at 9 am. I asked the front desk and they said 10am. I also was not aware of a $57 smuggs guest service charge and did not get a smuggs pass for any activities such as disc golf round.

Hotels.com and Windham are not in the same page about the package of what this hotel resort has to offer. If I had to use the the pools with the slides I had to pay over $80 per ticket every day and I was told was part of the package

While not their fault, a child drowned and a massive water slide area was closed. We were obviously understanding so we went to the next best one. It was closed due to unclean water at the bottom. I don’t see why they could y have cleaned it overnight. The staff were immediately trying to sell us on a time share, weren’t friendly and we’re rude when we told them what their own staff told us over the phone that they then denied. And contacting them via phone as a Expedia resi was awful. A total nightmare. The overall pool and water slide areas weren’t that clean or updated. Daily passes were crazy expensive to use the facilities and many items still not included. Overall disappointing. We won’t return.

The tub was covered in pubic hairs. The pool, which was advertised as part of the appeal of this place was not included and would have cost my family nearly $400 to use (some kind of all inclusive day pass for each of us)
8.0
I bet this place was truly spectacular once upon a time. There are many things that really need to be updated, not just for looks but for safety. The room was clean-ish, unfortunately there was mold in the bathroom shower stall and dirt/hair in many crevices of the bathroom. One MAJOR complaint is that it advertised 8 pools and waterslides, they fail to mention that unless you are a timeshare owner, you cant use them. You get access to only one pool as an outside guest. If you want access to the fun ones, it is over $70 a day PER KID! Not to mention over $90 a day per adult and every single person must have a pass to even enter the pool area. Customer service is severely lacking. We were never told this prior to or at check in. It wasn't until we were turned away at the gate that we were made aware. Overall, still a decent stay. The size of the units are great, the layout is perfect. Unfortunately not at all soundproof and if you're as unlucky as us, you'll be up all night while those above you stomp around and you can hear every conversation of your neighbor. So much potential at this property, they need to update it, clean it better and work on their transparency and communication!

Excellent place to stay. Clean, quiet, spacious and comfortable with lots of additional amenities. Great price with a lot of living space. Beautiful view of the mountains. Very close to Stowe Vermont. Marilyn our travel host was friendly and very helpful. We would consider staying here again! Best bang for the buck.

Booked this room thinking it was a hotel, upon arrival I learned we had been placed in a two bedroom, two bath condo as this complex is a time-share property (this was not on he Expedia booking site). Anticipated a high pressure sales pitch now that we were (h)booked but the opposite occurred. Staff provided info on the time share for us to review and told us to enjoy the stay. The condo was perfect and the in room laundry provided us the opportunity to wash our clothes. Very family oriented and I would definitely stay again.
