The hotel is well-located less than a 10 minute walk to the main strip but in a very quiet area just uphill. If you don't like walking uphill or downhill this may not be the place for you, but I found it very convenient. The room is clean and simple, pillows are comfortable, water is hot. The breakfast is great, it actually includes a small portion of eggs with the usual pastries and tea/coffee. The view from the breakfast room over the town and onto the lake beyond is gorgeous.

Breakfast service is very good! The property has a very nice view and staffs are helpful with taxi services! but it's facilities need to be improved like the sink in the bathroom water drained very slowly!

We had a great stay at South B&B in El Calafate. The place is conveniently located close to town and with easy access to all the shops and restaurants within a short walking distance to the Main Street. The breakfast served at the hotel each morning was super fabulous. We had a great time at this hotel.

Very beautiful place. We stayed in el
Calafate before and this place is just the one!

I loved the hostess. Lucia,
The place was very Artistic and funky. The breckfast was wonderful.

Accommodation simple but clean. Fantastic views. Friendly staff. Good breakfast.

The view from the rooms are excellent. It's good to stay for one-two days. The staff was very friendly! The breakfast was nice, but a bit poor.

When we arrived the room was not available at the time it was supposed to be. We were then told (after we had checked in and paid) that the room we’d reserved wasn’t available. Instead of the double room, we were put in a room with two twin beds and a bunk bed. We were told there was nothing the staff could do. We tried to be understanding, but it was not worth the almost 100 USD per night to stay in what felt like a dorm room in a cheap hostel. There are plenty of other places in town that are a much better value.

Very friendly, helpful owners. Big room, lovely views. Breakfast not great, and shower was only lukewarm.

The B&B is very nice. Beautiful views of the mountain range and lake. A ten minute walk, including two sets of stairs, to the center of town. Very clean and breakfast is provided. The hosts are not very friendly.

We had the best experience here! This is the best place to stay in Patagonia due to the view from up on the hill you get, as well as it's walking distance proximity to downtown. This is a simple B&B that has everything you need and gives you a true Patagonia experience without the bells and whistles. The owners take you under their wing and make you feel like their children for the duration of your stay. They make you breakfast every morning and will even pack you lunches for your excursions each day. They booked all our excursions for us and gave us dinner recommendations for each evening. I will be back to stay here for sure!

Ideal location with nice view, easy to walk to city town. Clean and tidy, also very nice staffs. Will be better to provide walking guide back from town . Overall comment is good to stay.

South B&B is run by Javier and Andrea who are brother and sister. Plus Pablo who takes care the breakfast and three dogs entertain guests. We stayed for three days total but in separate stays. We enjoyed the family atmosphere. The view from the hotel is superb. The rooms were basic but sufficient. January the day time was long so we had plenty time to enjoy watching the sunset of El Calafate. They both speak Spanish, English and French and help guests for all the bookings. It was our base to travel around Patagonia and we had good restful days there.

Nice hotel for trekkers. Good breakfast. Better rooms are on upper floors to avoid early morning noise near the breakfast room. Location is good for people capable of climbing the hill from downtown and those with a car.

They (Javier y Andrea) were such lovely people. Funny and great hospitality. They helped us arrange our tours and helped us in English. Even though we didn’t speak Spanish they helped us in anyways they could. We will definitely be back.

We stayed here early December and had a really great stay! The hosts (brother and sister) were super helpful and helped us book trips both to El Chalten and The glacier national park. We only stayed 3 nights so being able to book the trips easily was awesome. Thank you so much for a lovely stay. Very clean, decent breakfast and short walk to centre of town

From our understanding, siblings, Javier and Andrea, own the place and are available throughout entire stay for food , drink and excursion accomodations. They help with taxi's, transports, translation, and booking. Would recommend to friends, family and strangers

Cute place with friendly hosts. Great views of Lago Argentina from all rooms. About 10-15 minute walk from town center/restaurants/shops. Comfortable memory foam beds but pillows are rock hard.

Mooi uitzicht vriendelijke mensen, maar kamers zijn wel erg simpel. Bedden met lakens en dekens niet meer van deze tijd. En 1 persoons befden ook niet meer.

I like the owners of the property, they were very friendly and provided excellent service to us. The property is very nice and clean and it offers breakfast at no cost. We had a beautiful view of the lake and the town, everything is walking distance. Lots of restaurants to eat and also lots of stores for shopping.

This is a good Budget B&B. Quite easy walk into shopping area. It does have great views of El Calafate and the lake. Lots of lists with rules!!
2.0
Comfortable B&B with a lake view. It is perched slightly above the town but is only a 10min walk to many restaurants, a taxi is required to go to the bus station. Room was comfortable, clean and warm. Breakfast is simple but nice and served from 6.30 allowing you to eat before a trip/connection. El Calafate is, in our opinion, less charming than El Chalten or Puerto Natales but this is a good stop for a night or two.

Highly recommend. My wife and I stayed here on our honeymoon and thoroughly enjoyed it. Rooms are nice, a higher level of comfort for a B&B but the shining service and hospitality from Andrea and Javier are the real reasons to stay. The view is also wonderful and the walk to the main drag of El Calafate is pleasant and interesting. We also felt this was a great value bang for buck. The breakfast was splendid. We even had a load of laundry done. Wish we had stayed longer with them. Every one of Andrea’s recommendations was appreciated and spot on. Very highly recommend.

the staff is VERY friendly and helpful, gave good recommendations for food and activities, spoke English and Spanish, lunch bags for sale are large and yummy, gorgeous view of the lake

Nice small family run B&B - we really enjoyed it, and recommend it if you're in El Calafate.

Great location with an amazing view on the Argentina Lake. South B and B is located just a few minutes from Restaurants and shops. Andrea and Javier are very friendly and knowledgeable on the area and on what to do while in El Calafate. Rooms are clean and the service is superb.

The brother and sister are really nice people and very helpful with things such as booking tours and all. The breakfast was reasonably good so was the cook. The place looks new but bathrooms r not really nice, the sink had bad cracks, the doors won't lock properly, though it was later fixed. Good walk from main street specially going back due to all the climbing. I would try finding something closer to main street next time as thr r options available within same price range.

Nice hotel except the bed sheets had clearly not been changed since the last guest. Icky.
1.5
Good location, close enough to the main street but not too close that it's noisy. As others mention, it has a great view. The staff is knowledgeable though a bit stand-offish.
