We liked that the walkways to the rooms were covered. We wished that the benches around the bird feeding area were covered as well. You can't sit on a wet bench to watch birds. Thank you

An excellent place to be immersed in nature. Tranquil environment, excellent food and very kind staff. The environment they have prepared for birdwatching is amazing and they have hiking trails. I loved every minute of my stay!

Great hotel, we enjoyed our stay!

Amazing place, our room « Heron » was probably the best of the hotel.
Very nice quiet places around the site.

There was a heavy rain on that day (26th April '24) Power went off. There was an outage for 2 plus hours. The lady staff at the reception desk dint know when the power wd be back. ( No surprise!) We cd see several small 'refillable- liquid -contained- glass lights ' were lit in the reception desk, bar and dining hall. ( Are these the best alternatives for Solar powered lanterns !!?)
However, the guests rooms were left to be in dark.
When we asked for a Manager to whom we can escalate this issue, reception desk gave a helpless reply.. No such person it seems !
Just wondering, is this Hotel not having a system of Power back ups for rooms ?!!
Thank God, the power came after 2 hours. Otherwise we wd have been sweating through out the night.
" The best Management practice is the one, which should be shown at the time of Crisis '
We dint see any of that kind there !!

I loved that they feed bananas and fruit to the birds daily. The grounds were amazing to see wildlife, humming birds, butterflies, bats, frogs and caiman. The rooms come with your own patio, this was a nice touch as were the hammocks. We can't wait stay here the next time we visit Sarapiqui Costa Rica.

Great location if you want to do some birding, enjoy peaceful walks in nature, and relax the afternoon in a hammock listening to the birds.
Our room was clean and spacious and the staff is so helpful and friendly.
I would recommend this to anyone going to the Sarapiqui area in Costa Rica.

Nice hotel, nice location . Great natural environment

Property needs toilet and shower renovation. Foods same old same old. The only main highlight here is their bird feeder thats been established since they opened and if you are first time birdwatcher this is a nice place to see alot of diff. tanagers and even have 3 chachalacas this time.

We have been in Costa Rica for two weeks and this was the worst place we have stayed.
The bugs are so bad you may get carried away by them.
The rooms are old and dilapidated. We didn’t feel comfortable showering. For the price we paid there are WAY better places to stay in CR.
No internet in the rooms. Too many bugs to sit outside and enjoy the scenery (I promise there are plenty of beautiful places to stay in CR where the bugs are not that bad… this place is a breeding ground for mosquitos).
They charge you $10 USD per person for a breakfast buffet… the worst we have seen. All other places we stayed the breakfast was free and WAY better.
$8 USD for a beer? Come on!
Stay somewhere else!
Mold in the bathrooms
Uncomfortable beds
No wife
Tons of bugs
Horrible food
Extremely overpriced

An amazing place, wish we had stayed longer. Watching hummingbirds from our terrace, a sloth by the pool, tree frogs, lovely food and friendly staff too.

The area is beautiful and if you like to watch the birds, the place is set up for that. The restaurant is good and reasonably priced the breakfast buffet is complimentary. Overall, the place is very clean. The very large property is somewhat unkempt. New bedlinens and towels would be helpful. Rooms are dated and a little interior sprucing up would be nice

The staff were very helpful . They were willing to arrange transportation and in general very accommodating to the guests .

It was so relaxing and quaint. Open air and full of nature!

La Quinta Sarapiqui Lodge is a good base to explore the valley (ideal if looking to spend the day white-water rafting nearby). The staff was friendly and attentive. The lodge is located by a small river away from the main road making it a peaceful place to stay. The facilities are a little dated (more so than the pictures suggest) and could do with some modernisation and extra maintenance. The food offered on site was rather basic and we ate better in sodas for cheaper.

A little pricey

The staff and facilities were great. The staff went above and beyond with help locally. Helped me with a call to San Jose to make changes there and really went out of their way to make my stay perfect. The rooms had the most beautiful views of the river and jungle. I would certainly stay there again!

wonderfu in every wayl; the only fault was the poor bed that needs changing.

The facility was terrific; the overall cleanliness was superb! Staff was super-helpful in all matters. The A/C in our first room was faulty and we were switched ASAP. The staff even moved our suitcases/belongings. We had a great river view, literally below our balcony. Food was good to excellent. Bird feeders were great for photo ops and were kept full throughout the day. Only downside to stay (5 nights) was the presence of large number of children on 1 night. Noisy! To the credit of the chaperones, the kids were in bed, lights off, at 10:00 PM, but the tranquility of the evening was lessened.

Wildlife and butterfly house on property. River view rooms were a plus.

Nice comfortable hotel, only complaint is no wi-fi in room and breakfast not included in room rate and costs $12.
5.0
Comfortable and affordable accomodations for exploring the Sarapiqui area. Birdwatching right on the property and La Selva Biological Station and other adventure experiences close by. Much cheaper than the nonairconditioned rooms at Selva Verde Lodge and personal touches by the staff made us feel truly welcome.
