The best thing about this place is the location. It's a secluded area yet close to a lot of things. It's old and the furniture could definitely use some updating. I would also think that the owner could break down and fix the ice machine in the refrigerator. We've stayed there three times and are coming back in October for a month. There are also two lights out in the house, one above the TV in the living room and one at the far end of the kitchen near the laundry room. There were also out when we stayed there last October. Not a big deal but things that should be checked and fixed.

We loved the Sonshine Cottage! It was clean, roomy and had a beautiful view from the sunroom!

We had a wonderful time at Sunshine Cottage. We loved watching the birds feed and catching lightening bugs. Lots of room to spread out and comfortable beds. It was very close to all the areas we wanted to visit The driveway entrance is steep and recommend a high clearance vehicle. The strap for the trash can was not there so I borrowed a bungee cord to keep animals out of it at night.
Overall, a great place to stay.

The house was very roomy. It’s more like a nice cottage than a house IMO, but was perfect for our needs. It’s not really possible to walk anywhere from the house, so a trip into town required the car. I would certainly stay there again.

Lots of room to spread out or gather together, as needed. Really like the double dining areas. Glassed in porch has great mountain view.

Wanted to stay near friends who live in Laurel Park. Perfect house/perfect location. 3 adult “girls”, each with our own bedroom. The HUGE second bathroom has a private sink/toilet adjacent to each of the two bedrooms with a shared but private bath/shower in between. Great set-up. Each room also has an extra sleeping space, either a twin bed or chaise. The view from the back room with all the windows looks down into Hendersonville. Neighbors are close, but you can’t even see them for the mature Mountain Laurel. Check out time is 10am and the cleaning crew arrives at 10am on the dot! Probably the most practical thing is that there are no steps into the house. Zero entry which is nice when you’re hauling luggage, etc. Would definitely love to stay here again.

From the very beginning requesting the stay through our checking out, this was a great experience. The house was clean, convenient and well supplied with everything you needed for a comfortable stay.

We had a wonderful stay in this lovely cottage. Although it was close to town, the location was lush and peaceful. I love old houses and felt at home the moment we walked in the door. My only negative comment is the driveway. I felt it was misrepresented in the listing photos. Some warning about the steepness and rockiness of it would have been helpful. Since we sometimes travel on a motorcycle, the driveway would have been a problem for us in getting to the house.

My stepchildren were in town for their father's memorial service. It was a perfect place for them to relax, watch the birds from the sun room and work through their grief. Walking the trail was also so nice. The cabin felt like a warm hug. Beds were very comfortable.

Don’t miss the opportunity to stay at Sonshine Cottage. The convenient location to Main Street Hendersonville is great. The home is warm, comfortable and cozy. Beds are great, bathroom configuration works well for multiple guests. Kitchen well-stocked. If you love old houses with character, this one is amazing. Host is an excellent communicator and responds very quickly. As advertised!

Sonshine Cottage is an older home full of personality and charm. The location was perfect for visiting my mom in Hendersonville. The neighborhood is beautiful and perfect for long walks.

I'm not sure what year the house was built, but if you like older houses with all the modern amenities, then this is your place. Plenty of seating and space, and the sun room has an incredible view. Tucked away in a nice quiet neighborhood, yet close to everything.

The house layout was perfect for our group - two couples. Living area separates very private bedrooms and baths. The view of the mountains is stunning. Location is an easy drive to downtown Hendersonville. Convenient, comfortable, good kitchen, great community space.

If Sonshine Cottage is available when we're coming to North Carolina, we book it. It is comfortable and welcoming; the surroundings are beautiful, and the porch is a wonderful place to watch the sun rise.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay and hope to come back soon! The house was just as reported in VRBO and very comfortable for us. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

We were amazed by the property ! The floor plan is so convenient for multiple travelers. Everybody has their own private area including bathroom. The kitchen was fully stacked and the house had all we could possibly need (incl. sugar, coffee, zip loc bags, etc.). The driveway is challenging (but fun !!) . I can picture it being a hurdle for less confident drivers. The drive up from Hendersonville would likely have been a bit scary if there was snow or ice. The streets are curvy and narrow (but again: fun !!), and we watched with amazement how the garbage truck was able to maneuver the area .The trail directly above the the house was a great treat for our dogs. I would definitely stay here again if I'd come back to the area.

We booked this home for ourselves and our daughter over Christmas so we could be near our son and his family in Hendersonville and have space to host them for visiting and meals for the week. A well-lived-in spacious and comfortable home. Having two dining areas was especially useful during Covid-19 distancing restrictions. We were able to safely visit with and enjoy meals with our adult kids and the grandkids. The view from the sunporch was beautiful. The kitchen had everything we needed to produce a big Christmas meal and more. The place was well supplied with paper goods and toiletries. The host was very responsive in answering the few questions we had.

We've stayed here twice. It was just right for a family gathering of adult siblings -- the first time with a pet. Great views, lovely walks, an accessible entrance, a capacious kitchen and laundry and reliable internet that enabled remote work.

Great place! Location to Hendersonville proper and surrounding area was ideal.
As read in other reviews concerning the driveway tricky, but we managed.
Quiet neighborhood. Pet friendly.
My 2 biggest complaints: 1. poor lighting in all the rooms. 2. Sofa on family room, not too comfortable or enough seating for 6 for watching a ball game or movie night with the fam.
Other than that...it was great, well stocked and comfortable.

Nestled in the side of the mountain with lots of vegetation. Nice view. Nice floor plan. We had problems with the driveway. Toilets are small and low which is good for children but not for seniors.

Sonshine Cottage was perfect for our Ladies Retreat.

Seating was great for our together time and plenty of closet space for 8 ladies.
We loved it.

We didn't know what to expect and were so delighted with Sonshine cottage. We love the location, the view and the spacious floor plan. My husband loved sitting out in the sunroom and watching the birds come to the bird feeder. Sonshine cottage is clean and in an ideal location. 5 minutes and you are in downtown Hendersonville. We would definitely recommend this cottage for anyone. It is so quiet and peaceful. So happy we found it. Would also like to comment on the new washer and dryer if I could I would have taken them home with me!!! Thank you Nancy
