Lovely hotel in great position next to the cathedral. Room very comfy and food and drink excellent.
Best thing about this hotel were the staff. All had great attitudes, friendly and open manners and very professional.
Many thanks

Another good stay at the Old Vine. Warm welcome, great room and breakfast included. So close to Cathedral, shops, places to eat. I wish they had a car park, as parking permit is only available from 3pm.

A great place for a relaxing visit to this beautiful city of Winchester. Our large top floor room had lovely views across the Cathedral and town. So central, yet so peaceful. Walkable to just about anywhere here, including the railway station.
A quaint old pub, with great accommodation and a very hearty breakfast included. Room facilities are excellent.
Would recommend attending an Evensong service at the Cathedral… a great and spiritual experience, which doubles as an opportunity to explore this ancient Gothic masterpiece. We did this, with a bonus of a recital on the famous “Father Willis” organ.

We were allocated the Allwyn & Little room which we assume is the
Deluxe Double Room, 1 Double Bed, Ensuite, City View which we paid £179 for.
Room was spacious but the bathroom was tired. Damp on the walks, black mold on the window frames and a previous guest body hair in the bath and on the bath mat. Bed was very creaky.
The hotel is old ( which we knew) but does not have double glazed windows. We were woken at 3/4/5 by vehicles outside loading and unloading and managed to get back to sleep at around 5:30am only to be woken again at 7 by the council jet washing the pavement outside our window for 40 mins. We decided to get up and go for a walk as the noise was unbearable. There is no information anywhere that says the room may be noisy, nor did I find any guest reviews advising this. We must have been extremely unlucky. This is not acceptable when paying £179 for a room in any hotel.
The hotel description says that there are views of the cathedral & green. We could not see the cathedral or the green as there was a huge tree outside the window.
The kettle in the room had not been emptied from previous guests and the cupboard that house the condiments was grubby and had tea & coffee stains on it.
The breakfast was good and spent around £180 on drinks & food during our stay.
I am in the hotel business and am meticulous about where I stay when on my personal travels. This was not a good stay and compensation is due as we did not rest.

Lovely one night stop over at the Old Vine.
We arrived on a sinday and decided to have a sunday roast in the restaurant. Highly recommended the restaurant, food and service was great. Staff are all very knowledgeable, friendly and polite.
We were shown up to our room and was supprised at how big it was. Very comfortable and perfect location for a stroll around the town and cathedral.
Slight down side was noise fron delivery vehicles early morning but the hotel had provided ear plugs and they worked a treat.
We would definitely stay here again

This was my second stay at the Old Vine this year, and I have had another lovely time - excellent service from staff, and a beautiful, comfortable, spacious and clean room, with wonderful amenities. The breakfast is also amazing, and a huge selling point as it is included in the price. I will definitely be coming here again! Thank you!

Had a fabulous stay at this gorgeous traditional inn. Rooms are beautiful, spacious and clean, with good amenities, such as a Nespresso coffee machine, and complimentary items in the fridge and bathroom. Service from staff was wonderful and friendly, and the included breakfast is amazing. Location is exceptional, right on the square opposite the cathedral, with easy access to the high street and the train station. I loved my stay, and definitely hope to stay again. Thank you to the Old Vine!

The hotel was lovely nice big room parking just outside with a permit supplied by the hotel. Room was very clean with Tea and coffee facilities bottled water and juice in the fridge. Range of different teas and hot chocolate in a box.
The breakfast was very nice with wide variety of options from cereal fruit to English breakfast tea and coffee served.
The only issue was we returned back to the pub for a drink about 9:30PM we ordered some drinks then 5minutes later the bar staff said it was LAST ORDERS at 9:30 they started to clearing away and washing down the bar areas which made us unwelcome. I did say we were residents at the hotel but still wanted us to order more drinks before they closed ?!.

The rooms were spotlessly clean. Each room has its own modern bathroom (also spotless) and breakfast is included in price. You can have breakfast in your room or downstairs in dining room. Staff is friendly and welcoming. The location is nothing short of perfection. While your there make sure to take a walking tour and a tour of the cathedral and great hall. We just loved our stay here! We highly recommend it!

Great little hotel, kept very original, right opposite the cathedral and within 1 min walk of the main high street. Parking is just on street. So you have to hope there's a space close to the hotel, they give you a badge to put on the dash board so you can leave the car there. If you were unlucky you might have to walk a half mile from the car to the hotel, then back again with your car badge! But this is typical of hotels in the centre of ancient towns and cities, they won't have their own dedicated car park, they're too old.

I booked this hotel for 3 reasons. First, it was within driving distance of the Grange Opera in Hampshire where we had tickets booked. Second it had a high rating at Expedia. Third and very important the Expedia Website said 'Parking Available'. This turned out not to be true. After driving through a complicated system of narrow one way streets and pedestrian zones we found ourselves outside the hotel. My wife went inside and emerged with a map and a parking permit and we had to drive about a mile to get to Symonds St, which is about 250M from the hotel as the crow flies, but cannot be reached directly due to street closures and one way systems. In Symonds St one took pot luck as to whether there would be a space. There was one at around 2.30, but when we got back from the opera at 10.15 pm there was only a very tight one that took me 10 minutes to park. This was on a Thursday in June. Good luck on a Bank Holiday weekend. The entry at the website is not accurate. What it should say is 'remote street parking may be available if you are lucky'. If I'd known the parking situation was as it is I would never have booked this hotel at all. In addition the bathroom door would not shut properly and one of the windows would not shut so that loud noises came in from the street until about midnight and from 6 am. The room was ok, breakfast was excellent and the staff were pleasant, but the hotel is operating under false pretences. To paraphrase Star Trek: Parking, but not as we know it.

Hotel was lovely, rooms above a typically old characteristic pub. Very quiet even though it is close to the centre of Winchester. Staff were lovely and helpful. I would definitely recommend to family and friends

Wonderfully located pub with individually styled rooms. Lovely bathroom with good toiletries/slippers and robe. Had an issue with TV, staff arrived promptly and problem was resolved. Good food and atmosphere in restaurant. Staff pleasant and attentive. Having the Cathedral directly opposite a real bonus. Once we’d parked our car in a street nearby with permit from hotel we didn’t see the car until we left, perfect location for cathedral, shops and some lovely walks.
