Joe and Melody were fantastic hosts and their house is just stunning. The home is peaceful, spacious, well stocked, centrally located and the perfect place to host an small event. We held an intimate wedding ceremony and reception and it could not have been more perfect. Basically all of our guests (all ages) were able to stay at the home and it had everything we needed. Joe was extremely communicative for over a year while I was planning and needing questions answered about the space. I was even able to coordinate a "site visit" to the home while there was a gap in bookings months prior to our stay. He treated us so well and I couldn't have dreamt up a better place to get married, truly.
The house is VERY well stocked. Previous guests leave leftovers of all kinds which I think is the right way to do a rental! make sure you see what the house has before going on your big grocery run :) Parking is strict but Joey and Melody have done a good job securing a large space for guests to park and also have alternate options that won't disturb the neighbors. There was plenty of space for our wedding vendors to come and go and have priority parking as needed. There are some critters around but thats Hawaii, no one was bothered or harmed by any. Beds are comfy, A/C works great and the seating in the main room makes for the perfect place for your group to gather. Definitely would stay here again and again!

It had been almost 5 years since we had our 8 children and their families all together. Kauai was the perfect location for this gathering of 20 people ranging from 3 yrs old to early sixties.
Everyone agreed that this house was perfect! From the sleeping arrangements to the backyard access to a perfect beach to the house being clean/comfortable/spacious and stocked with everything we needed from kitchen supplies to beach supplies. It's location is perfect as well being about halfway between Lihue and Princeville.
We loved this home, highly recommend it to others and hope to return some day!!

nice home and great walk to beach. House needs maintenance. Most of the time no hot water, dishwasher wouldn't disolve soap, sliding door to beach horrible shape.
Tons of ants cleaned up daily. Cockroaches running across the stove. ebikes not working. Road in terrible shape. Should be better maintained

Joe and Melody have an amazing home that is perfect for large groups. I brought 6 couples, 2 single friends, 4 teenagers, and 2 toddlers. There is plenty of room for everyone. The house is fully stocked with everything you need.
We especially liked the beach that is mostly visited by locals! They were friendly, helpful, and gracious.
I highly recommend this house!

First off, the communication with Joe & Melody were so impeccably timely, understanding and kind. The moment my reservation went through I could go full force in wedding planning mode. I have been writing back and forth with them for 8 months - They were so responsive and helpful in the amount of guests to the public beach access where we also held a decent size bonfire. All our guests raved about how beautiful the house is and all its accommodations - from the bedrooms to kitchen supplies. The views of the sunset and sunrise were magical. Kauai was already my favorite island (coming from Oahu) this stay made it 100x better! Much Mahaloz to our favorite home owners💕 we are so appreciative of the support and allowance given to share in our joyous occasion!
Also, Angie the house keeper was so sweet and helpful, as well.

We were 27 family members, cousins, aunts and uncles, brothers and sisters and two sets of grand parents here to celebrate a legacy from our paternal and maternal great grand parents. The house handled us all well. We lacked nothing. The owner was generous in supply of beach and water toys as well. They were very thorough in their suggestions for what would make our stay great. We made many wonderful memories. Mahalo Joe

The Beach House was a perfect home for our family of 20. Each couple had their own room and bathrooms which was amazing then there were enough rooms for the family groups of children. Home came with all you need. We loved the fat tire electric bikes! We loved our stay and highly recommend this home. Memories made and hearts full. Thanks Joe and Melody for sharing your home with us.

If you are a large family and need a place to stay I highly recommend this house. We had 17 adults and kids stay here and at no time did we feel cramped. Everyone had their own room and bed, no sleeper sofas needed. The kitchen is also well equipped for large family meals.
The beach is only 50 yds from the house. Perfect for drinking coffee and watching sunrises. There are plenty of beach accessories available for ocean fun. There is a city park only a block away with an excellent playground and a large soccer pitch. This is where we met Pua, one of the local dogs. She is very friendly and will come up to you and lay on her back so you can scratch her belly. Do so.
In my mind, the Anahola area is the perfect area. You are away from the busy touristy areas, but only 20-30 min from the Kapaa and Princeville areas if you are looking for shopping, food or just sightseeing.
Again, I highly recommend this home and would stay here again.

The owners provided exceptionally accurate descriptions of all aspects of the property. The many details, from places to eat to places to go, were great. There were 17 of us staying for 10 days, from 3 to 85 years old. Our 85-year-old handicapped (wheelchair bound) guest had no problems at all. Great place, great owners and a terrific vacation. Highly recommended!

I have stayed in Kauai every five years to celebrate my milestone birthdays, and also to have a family reunion with my five children et al. The island offers many unique things to do and time to just relax and read good books. I rent two vehicles so that everyone can be free to explore.

What a fabulous vacation. The house was perfect for my family. We had the best time .
3.0
We enjoyed the spacious home and easy access to the beach. Kauai is a beautiful island and we enjoyed our stay there. The house was the perfect size for our group of 15. The owners were very responsive and provided a lot of information about the house. Unfortunately, 2 of our vehicles' gas tanks were sabotaged and the gas was stolen. This certainly put a damper on our time in paradise. We were told that there is an issue with this in the area by the car rental company.

This beachfront property was everything we had hoped it would be. Plenty of room with all the necessities for our family of 16 to enjoy each others company in the common areas while giving each family their own private sleeping and bathroom space. We fell in love with Anahola beach which is largely used by locals in the area. Cars and locals camping on the beach were seen but didn’t bother us, all were friendly and respectful of others. We enjoyed freshly caught & cooked fish the “Hawaiian” way from one of those families. It was truly a dream vacation for us all in Kauai. Thank you Joe & Melody for sharing your bit of paradise with us.

The home was very spacious and clean. The view from the patio and beach is exactly what I was hoping for. The owners were easy to communicate with and gracious. I would definitely stay at this home again in the future if I returned to Kauai!

The place was amazing. There was room for everyone and they had plenty of everything you need in the kitchen. The view of the beach was amazing the beach was fun to boogie board and swim. We would book this place again.

We were a large group of 19 people ranging in age from 1 to 78. This house is perfect for our needs. 7 bedrooms, 7 baths, tons of seating inside and out. If you wanted a quiet space to read, plenty to choose from. If you wanted space to have a big family dinner, dinning room table was awesome. We were on the beach in the morning to see the sunrise and on the beach at night to look at the stars. Truly an amazing house in a very spiritual area Our only complaint was that we should have booked for a longer time !! Joe and Melody were awesome to work with, Angie the cleaner was delight.

Perfect setup for large families. Right on beach. In the rural tribe land of Kauai

House was big. So big it fit 18 of us no problem. Clean house with a great location to the beach. We did have a plumbing problem but was taken care of by owner fairly quick, turns out some plumber broke off a plumbing snake in the pipe and left it. Other than that great property. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you to the owners, we had a great family reunion.

TL/DR: Area more beautiful than the pics can show, house is roomy & comfortable. Host is very responsive. Highly recommend, 5 stars!
The 1st thing I saw after walking through the door was the absolutely gorgeous view of the ocean. The pics on the listing don't do it justice. The water was much closer than I expected & so amazingly beautiful. Probably best not to swim in this particulsr area since there are riptides & occasional jellyfish. But you can either walk to an estuary where the river flows into the ocean & the water is calm or you can walk in the opposite direction to another area where the water is also calm.
The listing describes the house as big & they aren't lying. The group with me & my husband included my mom, my siblings, their partners & their children. We had no issues finding comfortable rooms for all of us. Since the kids' room was on the opposite wing from the living room, dining room, & kitchen area, we didn't have to worry about our volume level after the kids were in bed.
The hosts of the house were very responsive to any questions we had & provided a very detailed informational email about the house & our surrounding area.
My family & all had a wonderful & relaxing stay. We'd love to come back again. Highly recommend this property!

There was 18 total, including 8 kids ranging from 2 to 15, and everyone loved the house! Right on a great swimming beach and plenty of room for everyone to enjoy without being on top of each other! There were ants and bugs, as many island houses have anyways, and that will not keep up from returning to this house! Thank you!!
4.0
Was a wonderful trip. Only downside was a few cockroaches and quite a few ants. The front porch had quite a few spiderwebs. The location was great and the size of the home was perfect. We had 17 family members from ages 2 to 65. I would recommend this place.

Had a wonderful stay here with a large group from work. The house is huge with plenty of room for everyone.

The house was perfect for our large family. The house was stocked for everything we needed. Tons of beach items, full kitchen and every room had a bathroom!!! I have never had such amazing communication with a homeowner Joe was fantastic. Thank you so much for letting us all get together for a perfect island vacation. We made memories that will last a lifetime.

This was a great place for our two families. Plenty of room for everyone, steps from the beach, not far from all the places we wanted to go. A great option, especially if you have a large group.
5.0
Our family really enjoyed staying in this spacious, unique home situated right on Anahola Beach which is among the best beaches in Hawaii: no rocks, no coral, plenty of sand, mellow surf and less crowded compared to other beaches we visited that included Tunnels, Hanalei Bay, Poipu and others. Boogie boarding, body surfing and tanning was how we spent our days and if you are looking to unwind and relax this is the place. We found the weather to be better than Poipu (less hot) and Princeville (less cloudy). The hosts were very accommodating and communicative and are actively improving the home with recent flooring and AC upgrades. The house itself is HUGE and harkens back to Kauai's plantation days with a gated courtyard in front and a great room with beams and ceiling fans with bedrooms and bathrooms throughout. We were only 2 families but we could see 3 or 4 families fitting easily and there is enough room for everyone to have privacy. That said, there are a couple public access roads next to the house and a path through the back yard that the locals and neighbors use to get to the beach. Initially it was odd to see people walking through the back yard a few times a day but we came to appreciate that the beach is for everyone and that this is a true local beach that everyone is there to enjoy in their own way. The locals drive ATVs and 4x4's on the beach which can get a little noisy so be ready for that and there are several "campers" you will pass by on your way to the beach that we didn't have any issues with but some in our party found to be unsightly and were not as comfortable with the locals' dogs running around. Our family didn't mind so much and we really liked the location of the house and the beautiful sunrises along with the hypnotic sounds of the waves crashing. We've stayed in many resorts and have enjoyed those as well but that is a different vibe entirely. Overall, we found this to be an authentic and enjoyable Hawaiian experience that we hope to repeat again sometime soon!

I set out to find a place that was on the beach and could accommodate our large family. I found exactly that when I found the Anahola beach house. Plenty of room for everyone. Private bathrooms in all bedrooms gave everyone their own space while the living/kitchen/ dining area allows everyone a place to be together without any crowding. This was great, I have stayed in a few places that can sleep plenty of people but lack the space for everyone to eat and hang out together and this was just what our family needed on this trip. Great to be right on the beach and avoid loading sand covered kids in and out of vehicles. The kids had a blast catching lizards and opening coconuts in the yard. The house has a beautifully updated clean interior which was beyond expectation. The drive in and neighborhood of the beach area seems mostly local . Laid back cool local feel, not a resort area. Joe was very responsive to any questions or needs we had during our stay. Can't wait to go back. This was a special trip our family will always cherish. -Mike
