Everything was great but the bed was very uncomfortable. We would have asked for another room but we were just staying one night.

We were placed on the 4th floor. There was a hotel employee run elevator, but no one was available. All 4 of us are in our 70s, lugging suitcases up 4 flights of stairs, and claw foot high bathtubs were hard to navigate. . Free breakfast was very minimal, bread, yogurt, fruit. Each room was decorated in vintage style, very cute!

Best part is the location. Restaurants, bars and art galleries right outside your door. Had everything you needed Everything was also very clean. Great stay for the money.

Very nice for a very old Hotel- we enjoyed our stay

What a lovely hotel! Old time charm in a lovely Vermont town.

The photos on the website were obviously taken long ago. This hotel is in need of definite help. The rooms were mostly clean, there were empty water bottles in our room that weren’t ours. My mom with limited mobility either had to wait in staff to help her with the elevator or stay in the room. There was only one tv in the two bedroom room, and it was in the room with twin beds. There were doors left open in the hallways that led to rooms full of junk and lumber. The doors didnt even close evenly all the way around. It was just a really disappointing stay especially for $250. The best part about this stay was truly the staff who were in fact very friendly.
4.3
The limited staff did a fine job, but they seem to be doing everything from manning the front desk, to helping get settled, to handling all the breakfast details.
Too much.
4.3
Great value, lovely property.
4.3
Very old but unique hotel conveniently located in town. Manual elevator so we opted to take the stairs. This could be an issue for some. Old fashioned tub on legs.

Booked this room same day. Price had increased by $25. Room was not clean. Iron burn in center of the carpet. Comforter on queen bed was stained. Dead bug on bed. Alerted front desk. Staff was courteous. They found is another room. Unfortunately it was a King with a double bed. Had to adjust sleeping arrangements which was not comfortable. Room was cleaner. Bathroom mirror was streaky.
Large wedding that evening of our stay. Didn’t use pool.
Continental breakfast was okay. Many flies around.
Marked parking spots limited. Confusing once full.
Not worth the price tag. Wasn’t like it appeared on website.

Very old and partly restored hotel. Floors upstairs were entertainingly wavy. Our door had some issues but I heard they will all be updated. The breakfast was fantastic, very orderly and clean. Lovely hotel.
4.3
The Inn provided a nice balance of modern amenities in a cozy New England Inn. We were pleasantly surprised.

Affable host.

Wonderfully maintained vintage property, quiet, safe and very friendly staff!

Historic hotel located right downtown. Walk to everything. We loved it, stayed at the beginning and end of a multi day bike tour. The room was nice, the ac and TV worked and there was a frig. The pool was great too. The staff were helpful and friendly. The self serve breakfast was good with fresh fruit, yogurt, etc. The hotel shows it's age but that was part of it's charm and what makes it a unique and memorable experience.

I really liked this hotel and will stay here again. But a few things should be noted. Staffing is sparse, and it takes a little time to find someone (though everyone is extremely friendly and helpful). The elevator only operates with staff, so if you're on the fourth floor (as I was) you need to find someone to get you up. Breakfast is included, and was good. My room was sparsely furnished but comfortable, and everything was very clean. The place itself is a bargain, and has a kind of old-school loopy charm that I really enjoyed.
4.3
It is a quaint old inn with lots of charm, right in the center of a little town. Check in on my phone was quick and easy. The pool was open late, so my teens were able to enjoy it. Continental breakfast had plenty of fresh options.
4.3
It was a stay in history. You can take a ride in the original elevator that has to be run by a staff member or walk up to your room. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Our room was large with a large bathroom and great view over the town. The pool was refreshing in the heat wave. Breakfast is basic and fresh. The town of Brandon is lovely. No complaints.

Lovely old-style hotel in a pretty small town, with notably personable staff.
4.3
This property is a beautifully maintained historic gem. The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable.
4.3
Good place overall. Definitely an older building. Floors were unlevel and bed was firmer than I enjoy. Window A/C unit was very good for the room. Water pressure and warmth were excellent.
No mention of ice machine only on the ground floor. Only one elevator that must be run by staff only. Local area was friendly and picturesque but very little open after 8pm and fast-food non-existent. For those traveling to NY state, local ferry stops service at 6pm and the long-trip around takes 95 minutes. Ferry is cash only.
Overall, I would describe this location as "rustic and quaint"...worth the money for the experience but knowing the drawbacks might've altered my choice.
4.3
Great breakfast, airy and quaint with antique furniture. Very spacious lobby and comfortable sitting rooms
4.3
Loved the beautiful old bldg and the antique elevator. Staff was great and very helpful

Loved this Inn. Beautiful, clean, spacious room and a huge bathroom. The only downside to this inn is the fact that they don't have an elevator that everyone can use. You must have an attendant to run it as it is a 1906 evelator with the pull close door and it needs a person who knows how to run it to stop it at just the right spot. And it's a super small elevator. 2 people with one bag each and the operator is all that can fit at a time. If you don't mind stairs then it's a GREAT place. We will stay again.

Brandon Inn was one of the lovlliet and most affordable deals I've found. The historic structure is beautiful, rooms and bathrooms are spacious, breakfast was wonderful and the amenities like game room, pool and relaxing shared spaced was incredible. We loved the historical aspect, wonderful owners/staff and dining area. The community was incredible as well. We'd definitely return.

Nice hotel in a quiet little town.

Wonderful stay at the Brandon Inn. Services exceptional! The Fourth of July in Brandon is out of a storybook. The parade, vendors, music and dancing in the town square for all ages. Looking forward to next year and also foliage in the fall.
4.3
Nice and clean place.
Staff were very friendly.
4.3
Beautiful historic inn within walking distance of great restaurants and bars. Very clean, comfortable and excellent service
4.3
Cool old architecture. Sweet little town.
4.3
Staff was very friendly. Building was in disrepair, however I understand that they appear to be renovating the inn. I would have liked to have information of services prior to making reservation.
4.3
Property needs total makeover!! I know it’s a historic inn but the carpet in our room smelled and definitely needed replacing!
Elevator is definitely prehistoric!!
On the positive side it’s in the middle of town near some good restaurants (le Provence).
4.3
The inn looks great. There are plenty of public spaces to relax. The rooms are spacious, and very comfortable. The inn is within a block or two of several restaurants and shops, and it’s very quiet in and around the property.
It’s an old building, so there are some outdated things, but it was very clean, and the staff was very friendly and helpful!
4.3
Charming, older inn with lots of character. We liked the unique character and the central location. The only nuisance was that the power to the A/C was on the same circuit as the overhead light. So either no A/C at night or we would have to sleep with the lights on. Something an extension cord could readily fix!
4.3
While brandon is a quaint small town in Vermont we totally enjoyed our time at the Brandon Inn established in 1786. It was an elegant stay like going back in time.
4.3
No one at front desk ever. Our codes to get into our rooms were left on the reception desk for anyone to see. Rooms old and dated (i.e. furniture from 1950s). No shower in our room - only a handheld sprayer from the hot tub which would spit water. A bizarre property.
4.3
Nice location
Quiet

This is a very charming and historic inn.

I was not satisfied with the room nor the breakfast offering. The bed and pillows were uncomfortable, the outlet in the bathroom was not GFCI, there were exposed cables along the wall in the room, we did not have a TV and for the amount I paid I expected a decent breakfast. Paid for two nights, left after one.
