The hotels very secure and that you can’t get in without a key. It’s a very comfortable hotel has a great restaurant and very friendly staff. It is so close to the Pike Street market and other venues.

Very helpful staff. Great location except there are many homeless in area.

The State Hotel was absolutely gorgeous and comfortable. I can't recommend it enough as a comfortable stay in Seattle. The proximity to downtown and to Pike Place is amazing. I would definitely stay here again.

The State Hotel was a great location for our short trip to Seattle this fall. It’s about a block to Pike Place Market and lots of restaurants and shops.
When we checked in, the staff at the desk were very helpful and friendly. We were able to get our luggage to our room and park in the hotel’s lot in about 20 minutes. We quickly walked to the market before it closed and had dinner at a nearby restaurant. It started to rain, and we were glad we only had to walk a short distance to get back to the hotel. The room was smaller than some we’ve stayed at, but very comfortable. I laughed at the robes provided, but wore it as often as I could with the wet, chilly weather.
We received a couple food and drink tokens when checking in, and used them the morning we left for breakfast. The restaurant had a nice variety of choices and we enjoyed the meal.

Stayed for a long weekend - had a beautiful view and enjoyed the roof top bar one afternoon. Central location - could walk to just about everywhere.

No amenity was available but charged.

The room was tiny with very little walkway or chairs for comfort watching tv.. The restuarant was pricey but the food was good. Good pedestrian access the the Pike Place Market. Target accross the street. not bad.

The hotel is nice and in a great location. It is a little on the pricey side. I didn’t like that they did not tell me about the $25 per night resort fee to utilize things like coffee during select hours or a roof top. It would have been nice to know about this fee and the amenities when I checked in and not the hidden fees as I was checking out. I would not stay here again since the hotel demonstrated deceptive price gouging.

Room was small but comfortable. Desk staff were exceptional - friendly, professional and willing to do whatever was necessary to improve the stay. Corner room was very nice with two windows. Location is great- close to everything.

Had a great stay here. Having to go downstairs to the front desk for ice was pretty inconvenient, but I understand it being a small hotel and not having room for an ice machine on every floor. Other than that, my only gripe is the price for the size of the room. Would definitely stay here again, just will wait for the peak season to be over so it’s a bit more affordable. You can’t beat the location in relation to the market. There’s so many amazing places to eat and shop. The rooftop bar also has a great view and the bartender was very nice.

Right around the corner from Pikes Place and in a central location to all the main attractions. Quick walk to the Link train. Friendly staff and great amenities.

If you are walking around in the downtown area. This is a great place to stay. Nice and close to pikes market and the pier. We enjoyed being so close and not having to use our car. The roof top bar was a beautiful place to have a cold beverage also.

Location can’t be beat for Pike Place Market and Triple Door Theater. Beware of the world-record-price $10 water in the room though—looks complimentary until you see the fine print on the container. Seems like the room charge is high enough without overcharging for water.

Great 3 night stay, 1.5 block to the market, target is across the street. Great check-in with Aracely. Rooftop patio is great for sunset drinks. The only thing that seemed gimmicky is the $25/night resort fee, other than the onsite restaurant there is nothing to consider this as a resort. Overall excellent and pleasant stay.

Scam alert. After I checked out and they sent me my invoice by email, they sent a second invoice for an additional (significant dollar amount which hotelsdotcom insist I remove) for an "early check-in". No mention of this at all during check-in or when i was there. This is against the law (WA state) and a fraudulent business practise. I had to call to have them void the "charge". I had not requested an early check-in; I just happened to arrive at noon.
What hotel charges for arriving at noon and going into a room which was ready? The ordinarily complementary water in the room were marked (a staggering amount also removed at the insistence of hotelsdotcom) each too! I cannot tell you if they contained gold dust (which surely at that price it must have) because who can justify drinking plain water at that price? Not my first stay at State but certainly my last....

Nice clean hotel by pike place market slightly let down by some unnecessary money grabs. Arrived at 12 so was aware I was there early but they checked and my room had been cleaned and was ready but I was charged $50 to check in early, this is just not acceptable, I could understand if you wanted to guarantee an early check in in advance being charged but if you arrive and the room is ready why do this??? Also no free water in the room and if you do want the tiny cartons left by the bed they want $10 a bottle so take some with you or pick some up across the road. Other than that the hotel is perfectly nice so a shame to let it down. Won’t stay again purely on that basis.

The location is great, walkable and has a good restaurant. Unfortunately Seattle has a large homeless population and is not safe everywhere.

The State was a great choice for our stay-cation! Very comfortable, well-appointed rooms and so close to Benaroya Hall as well as the Market. The robes are soooo cozy. I only wish there had been a bath tub!

The State Hotel was a great property. It was my first time here and I loved the room and location. I do think the one chair in the room is a bit uncomfortable but that’s just me. The hotel is next to Pike Place and of course there’sg homeless around the area but they don’t really bother you.
Bed was comfortable. I loved the shower and could have stayed in there for hours. Would stay again.

The State Hotel is very nice, clean, upscale hotel right in the heart of The Public Market. Easy access to all the piers, aquarium, Great Wheel, Gum Wall and the Waterfront. Ben Paris restaurant is delicious and guest get a $15/day food credit. Parking if offsite, a little bit of a hassle but overall not too inconvenient. Our room was small but had a very nice bathroom and shower and the bed and pillows were very comfy. Would stay here again!!

Great location near Pike Market for shopping and food choices. Didn't like the price for a four star hotel. Expected more, room was small and basic with hardly any amenities, not even a mini fridge in the room. Got a room with a view of a brick wall and payed over $700 for 2 nights. Restaurant was good food but over priced for basic options. Front desk check in was awful, she was vague and not friendly. Supposed to be a four star hotel but nothing about this place says that except the fancy food they try to serve. Location is all they have, don't over spend for this place.

I slept so good, the bed was amazingly comfortable. The hotel is close to Pikes Place Market and there is a Target across the street. The room was small but very clean. The only disappointment was that there was no fridge.

Staff was rude and inconsiderate. Didn’t answer my question about why there’s a random extra “amenity fee”. They charged me $75 on top of regular cost. Staff said it was for chips to get discounts at the restaurant which only add up to $45. Responded in condescending way. No room service available even though they provide a QR code for it.

I loved the decor and the staff was amazing and very caring and thoughtful!!
On the other hand i was told i got a corner room with a great view it was not a corner room and the view was of the target. Haha it was still a great stay.

The rooms were very small and amenities were few. Not worth the rate charged.

Great hotel with clean, comfy room. In a good location as we were walking distance from everything we wanted to explore.

The service at the State was the best I have experienced in a very long time. Rooms a bit on the small side but staff and location more than compensate

State Hotel is stylish & conveniently located for seeing the downtown sights. There are lots of great eating places nearby. The bed was very comfortable & I liked the artwork. But the room was tiny & for the price point, I was disappointed that there were amenities missing that I would consider standard: no iron/ironing board, no refrigerator. No ice on my floor at all, though there was an ice bucket, only 1 chair. The 8th floor deck was only occasionally accessible. My room supposedly had a City view, but in fact all we could see was the parking garage across the street. All in all, not a terrible experience, but for the price, there are better options in downtown Seattle.

Could do without looking at a wall from the room window with pigeons on all the ledges otherwise room would be nice

The property was great and definitely had all the amenities the looked at while booking. The staff was great and always there when we needed something. The restaurant downstairs was pretty great but way overpriced. The food was decent but there are several options nearby that I'm much much better.
The room itself was great, cozy and had all the necessary amenities you would need in the room.
The biggest positive here was the bathroom, which was quite big for the size of the room in the shower was very spacious. We had a view off an empty parking lot structure that was opposite our window.
The biggest issue we had was the encampments around the property here, which is okay during the day but in the evenings it's a bit sketchy. But that has nothing against the hotel however it's important to consider, especially cuz downtown restaurants close pretty early so you're going to be walking/Uber. Also they have this fee for destination tax or something like that which was a bit of a surprise for us especially cuz we never went over that at check-in. It wasn't a lot but just a bit iffy.
Overall great room Great staff and a great location if you're trying to be in downtown!

The hallway outside our room had a forgotten rolling cart that had dirty towels and garbage. It was incredibly smelly. We eventually had to move it ourselves. The hotel room was so humid it made the bed sheets feel wet. There was so much noise outside the hotel (cars, sirens, etc) we couldn’t go to sleep until almost 2am. I know it’s a big city but it sounded like the windows were open.

Just a lovely hotel all around everyone was so nice and accommodating and the rooms are gorgeous! So comfortable with great scenery

Loved staying at The State Hotel. The location is unmatched when it comes to distance from the marketplace. It’s also a very short walk to the mono rail that provides access to the space needle, the Chihuly glass museum and other touristy sites. The service was awesome, the staff was very friendly, and the restaurant provided convenience for a place to eat! Would highly recommend!

Loved the rooftop bar.

On checking in was informed of a $15 restaurant credit and tickets for discounts to the art museum and wine tasting. Sounded like a nice touch until we learned that guests are charged $25 for those niceties. It’s not a huge amount of money but as guests are not givwn a choice to opt out it felt dishonest. It’s a nice hotel in a good location but it’s expensive to begin with, so that bit of gouging bothered me.
