Great little hotel convenient to the Centro Historico. Very helpful staff; great breakfast.

This property and their staff is amazing. Its conveniently located near the basilica and shopping/food. The staff went above and beyond at every opportunity. They dealt with us and our delayed flight picking us up in Quito at 4:30am. I would defiitley recommend staying here if you like unique, historic, boutique (yet clean and modern) hotels.
4.0 / 5.0
This hotel was lovely, small, quiet, and had just excellent service. The room was exceptionally clean and the bed was super comfortable. The breakfast was a perfect way to start the day. And the location is within a very walkable distance from the main old city attractions - the Basilica being a visible feature from the rooms facing its direction.

The staff were exceptional, clearly dedicated to ensuring customer satisfaction at every turn. Their commitment to service made my stay truly enjoyable. Highly recommended!

I can’t recommend this hotel enough. It was small and charming, giving the opportunity to experience this beautifully restored and graceful old city architecture. But most importantly the hosts - everyone was so kind and welcoming but also unobtrusive. A slogan here is “welcome home” but it didn’t feel like a slogan, I felt genuinely welcomed by a team who take great pride in their lovely hotel. I will definitely return if I can

We had a great time here. They made us feel at home with nice little touches to welcome us there. It felt very safe and was in a great location for a short walk or taxi ride to the old town and they were also on hand to organise anything else we needed (including arranging a taxi to pick us up from the airport when we arrived in the country). The room was beautiful and comfortable.

We had a wonderful stay at the hotel. The staff were friendly and very attentive, providing us with excellent restaurant recommendations. We used their laundry service and that was very quick and great value. We also had excellent breakfasts in a lovely room overlooking the garden, every day of our stay.
The hotel itself is a beautiful building and really close for walking into the Old Town of Quito.
As noted in some other reviews, our room was at the front of the building and it was incredibly noisy from about 6am until about 10pm. We stayed in a Luxury Room and if you are not an early riser or are a light sleeper, I would recommend booking a different type of room that is away from the front of the property. The other rooms looked very nice.
If you are thinking of staying in Quito, I’d definitely recommend staying here.

Staff was amazing. Accommodations were good. We had breakfast included and it was delicious and plentiful. Small hotel with just a few rooms which worked well for us. Definitely recommend this hotel

Very interesting and elegant building. Great staff and services. Busy city center location, but staff will give you any guidance and help you need to navigate. Like most hotels in Quito, lacks heating, but they gave us an electric heater that worked well.

Exceptional hotel located centrally in Quito! The staff were extremely helpful, friendly and kind. The house is beautiful. Breakfast was delicious. The bedding was top notch, I didn’t want to wake up! But the best part which I will miss throughout the rest of my travels was getting a massage on site each day from Darwin. How nice to have a 90 minute massage after a day of exploring. Don’t skip booking a massage!

We could never say nicer things about the Hotel Casona 1914. The staff was amazing, the room was beautiful and we enjoyed our first three days in Quito. We would book here again a million times over.

This is a very nice hotel and the staff were very helpful in meeting tours, etc. The location is not so great - it's several blocks from the city center and not a place I felt comfortable being in at night.

Very pleasant stay! A cosy hotel with atmosphere, very nicely renovated and spotlessly clean! Great breakfast, well presented, and very friendly staff! Highly recommended place to stay if you wish to be close to the historic town center.

A nice boutique hotel with great staffs. Location close to old town. Bed is comfortable and breakfast tasty. Two minor issues with my single room. First being no wardrobe. Second the bathing area is too open and water do spill out and wet the floor a bit.

Felt like family and oasis in the middle of a very busy city. We knew we had a safe place to come back to at the end of each day. The staff was very attentive, they feel like family right away, it is a very unique hotel experience that I didnt expect. Our room was very beautiful executive suite Galapagos price was very reasonable for US traveler about 100 usd a night. We loved staying here

I can’t speak well enough about the quality of the service and accommodations here. The staff, again and again, went above and beyond to make our stay special. Their English is fabulous too which really helped my rudimentary Spanish.
The dining area is lovely and the breakfasts satisfactory. We didn’t realize at first it’s not just the food set out on the buffet style table. There’s also a main dish cooked fresh to order for you.
We stayed in the Galapagos Suite. The bathtub is incredible! It gets traffic noise from the street though so if your a light sleeper an internal room might be better. Overall it was worth it though for the king sized bed and tub.
We used their transfer service to and from the airport and was very pleased. Their driver was prompt, knowledgable and genuinely kind. The cars were very comfortable. The special touch of having some water and soda ready for us made a difference.
The courtyard in the back is a little oasis from the hustle and bustle of Quito. It even comes with a sweet German Shepard who hasn’t quite figured out he has to drop the ball before you can throw it for him.
I’d you’re thinking about staying here don’t hesitate. Book now. You won’t be sorry.

We really enjoyed our recent 4 night stay a a prelude to visiting the Galapagos.
The service by the whole family and staff was excellent and the breakfast was fresh and filling.
They arranged transfers for us from the airport and back to the airport and local taxi transportation.
It is an easy 15 minute walk to the center of old town and we enjoyed sipping our own bottle of wine on the outdoor 4th floor with a view of town and the basilica.
We would have liked a dresser in the room as there was not really space to unpack our suitcase.
I would highly recommend the Hotel Casona 1914.

I spent two nights at Hotel Casona, to enable my visit to Quito before my trip t the Galapagos. The hotel arranged for Carlos to pick me up at the airport at midnight and it was reassuring to have him there after my very long trip to Ecuador.
Damian, the hotel manager, was waiting for me when I arrived and was gracious in having everything prepared for my arrival, even at that late hour. He arranged for a private guide to provide a tour of Quito and its environs the next day. Breakfast was ample and delicious and included made-to-order eggs and fruit and a variety of bread, and cereals. I managed to find time to utilize the hotel spa and had a relaxing massage.
My single room was small but well-appointed, with a super comfortable bed, pillows and bedding, and a lovely rain shower, with beautiful toiletries. I couldn’t have asked for more.
The hotel is lovely, and the staff makes every effort to tend to the needs of their guests, and it shows! I would absolutely recommend you stay here on your trip to Quito.

the hotel is beautiful, the bed is so comfortable (king size room) but the service is why you should stay here. They take care of everything for you, from laundry to arranging transport services. We checked in at midnight and the clerk came out the door before we even knocked and settled us to our room in less than 5 minutes. Location is perfectly close to everything!

Beautiful boutique hotel in the historic district of Quito. Everyone we dealt with was amazing, with Damian in particular being an outstanding host, arranging two incredible days of private site-seeing.

We chose Hotel Casona because it was centrally located to the historic district, but it was so much more! From the non-descript exterior we entered a beautiful interior courtyard. They greeted us with lavender towels and a refreshing tea to assist with the elevation. Damian was the master concierge who assisted us with dinner reservations (La Vid was superior) massages and even with laundry after a muddy hike to Rucho Pichancha. We celebrated our anniversary too, and they surprised us with a bottle of red wine. Our room was beautifully appointed, extremely quiet, the bed was one of the most comfortable and the morning breakfast was absolutely perfect. We plan to visit Quito again and will absolutely stay at Hotel Casona again. Thank you Damian for making our stay extra special! The personal attention makes all the difference. You will love staying here!

As I've travelled around Central America I've been introduced to a category of hotels I've never used before. They are somewhat non-descript from the outside but once inside you're welcomed into a sanctuary. Hotel Casona 1914 excels in this style of boutique, family run hotels. We were treated like family, our rooms were beautifully appointed with cute this glass bottles filled with shampoo, conditioner and lotion, such a nice environmental touch. The bed extremely comfortable and the entire hotel super clean. The breakfast was very good, the usual, fruit, toast, and freshly made eggs with a selection of juice, tea and coffee. The breakfast room felt elegant and sophisticated but welcoming and comfortable at the same time.
The manager Damian could not have been more hospitable he answered every question, gave us excellent recommendations and managed our transportation and antigen test needs. He felt like a friend you've known for a long time, someone who sincerely wanted you to enjoy their home and city. What more could you ask for in a hotel!

A step back I time. An incredibly beautiful boutique hotel, very attentive staff, exquisite dining and one of the best massages I’ve ever had. Personal touches abound. Truly a remarkable experience and I highly recommend Hotel Casona 1914.

This hotel is a superior hotel. If is nicely appointed, has exemplary service, and gourmet food. This is the type of hotel you would expect to charge $350 a night. If you want to know more, read on. This hotel is elegant. The room smells like flowers, the sheets and towels fresh and sweet. There are ample towels, robes, slippers. fresh water. The bathroom is modern with rainfall shower. When we arrived we were tired and they suggested room service. For $30 we had a 4 course meal served to us on a cloth covered table. This was gourmet food. Delicious carrot soup, sorbet, chicken over risotto, cardamom mousse dessert. Outstanding. It was a chilly evening and they brought in a space heater and hot tea. Damien treated us like royalty. He arranged taxis, and attended to our every need. We had to get covid tests before leaving and he walked us down to the lab, filled out the forms for us, translated for us and made sure everything was ok before he left to go back to the hotel. The attention we were given was unbelievable. The stay includes breakfast which is wonderful. They offer coffee, tea, toast, cereal, yogurt fresh fruit, fresh juice, etc and also a hot breakfast of eggs and potatoes. Hotel is very close to the historic section of Quito. The view out our window was the Basilica del Voto Nacional. I can't say enough about this beautiful hotel and the caring staff. This Is THE PLACE to stay in historic Quito.

Diego and family were the ultimate hosts. From the moment I booked their beautiful hotel, I was taken care of. They were available to help with anything I could think of, Diego referring to himself as my personal “Ecuadorian Google”. The rooms in their recently renovated, historic property were immaculately clean and well appointed. I had two massages with Darwin, Casona’s masseur, that were transformative! I only wish I could have stayed longer. I will definitely be back!

Excellent stay here while visiting Quito. The hotel is gorgeous and the owner, Diego, and his family went out of their way to take care of us. We will always stay here when in Quito.
