The owner lives in Bournemouth. Entry is via code on door and keys locked inside house
If not for another guest helping me with key safe I could not get in. The same guest later on was locked out of her room with her key inside because the door stuck. She had to get a spare set from a coded lock outside the house. The downstairs toilet door stuck and I was locked in. Another guest Rajul was also locked into the same bathroom and the door was kicked open from outside to let her out. There are no coat hooks in the room or a clothes hook with hangers to hang your clothes. There was a Chinese female living at the back of the property. She could have helped with local issues but didn't. There is no free parking outside property. I could have saved the £70 charged and slept in my car and used local pub as a toilet facility. The owner does not care about client satusfaction

I didn’t even got around to stay, as soon as you go in you are monitored by different cámaras on all rooms of the house, I wasent able to find the key to the room and after looking for a while it was inside a drawer that is not specific on the email, then when I manage to find it the code didn’t work, so I just left and when and spend more money in a proper hotel where I can be normal without a camera watching me even when I pop in the toilet

The address of the property is difficult to find. The carpet was very dirty. There is a half a bath upstairs with no shower or tub and only one shower downstairs to be used by all four rooms at this property. And you can hear everything that everyone in every other room is doing so if they are up at all hours of the night, so are you. Will not return.

There is only one toilet for, what seemed, a potential of 20 people. The toilet was on a different floor from my room and difficult to get to. On this occasion the light in the toilet was not functioning. Grossly overpriced

Be ready to skate the restroom with all consequences..... upstairs bedrooms using ground level restroom. At least toilet is split from the shower. location is not bad

A little disappointed, although I knew it was a shared bathroom I didn’t expect it to be down stairs.
The resident next door to me decided to sleep with her room door open and the tv on.
Not wanting this for a second night I left a day earlier than planned and checked into somewhere more suitable for a good nights sleep.

I meam I was rather surprised when i found out it was a house but what was even worse was the fact that i had to share with other people. I was definitely not happy when i found out a out the fact that the toilet is shared. It may be alright if you go as a group however if you are by yourself very careful and do not choose this property especially if your a woman. As it not that safe on my opinon as compared to a normal hotel where you are seperate from everyone else. Another gripe is that the Wifi didnt work so i had to resort to use mobile data. There is so someone else living there in the garden as some sort of caretaker a other reason to proceed with caution. Also the breakfast is a bowl of cereal which does nothing so i skipped it. Genuinely should not be considered a bed and breakfast hotel.

We were messaged a few days before our stay confirming our booking and we were supplied with check in instructions which were clear. So this was a good start.
However, at this point I wanted to confirm the sleeping arrangements, as we booked a queen bed room which sleeps 3 (2 adults and a child)
I asked if there was a pull out bed for my son, but instead was told the room only has the one DOUBLE bed with nothing extra. So not sure how you can say it sleeps 3?!
There was a lot of door banging during the night and early hours which woke us several times. The bed sheets and pillows were also very worn and definitely needed renewing. Under the bed was dirty and clearly hadn't been cleaned. There were bits of food and empty packaging.
There were a few touches which was nice, biscuits on our towels on the bed and decorative plant pots and ornaments.
We understood it was a fairly cheap place compared to others we looked at and it was a shared bathroom, but something we would not book again. We would not recommend this lodge and definitely not with children.

The room was warm. However I am very disappointed. On the last day I was falsely accused of burning a bedspread. I did not iron anything and I do not smoke. I do not know how my sleeping could have burnt the bedspread.

Never got in the property Male contact on phone was rude unprofessional and disinterested. After trying for an hour to ‘check in online’. I left and found another hotel. A great idea if your internet is working. Away from home it’s not reliable. Travel from bham last min and expected a hotel sign or something. It was a house. Very disappointed. Very.

could not find the hotel its really a house with no keeper had to phone the owner to let us in then no room ready ask to leave our suitcases while finding a place to eat. this cost us another 10pounds. the bathroom shared with all rooms we were on the upper floor making it hard for 70 year olds to go up and down to bathroom. the included breakfast was a terrible choice of stale cereals.
be carefullof the 60pound down for damage. still waiting for my 50 pound rebate. not recommemded

Clean, comfortable room. Shared facilities could use a refresh, shared hand towel in toilet is unhygienic. Other guests locked us out, front door key wouldn't open would have had to sleep in the car if they weren't there to open.

Everything spot on

A lovely guest house. Spotlessly clean, convenient location (for Southampton or Eastleigh) in a quiet residential street. The property has good facilities, with shared lounge, kitchen and bathroom.
I really appreciated the excellent communication from Luke in advance of the booking, with clear instructions on location and how to access the property.

Enjoyed the experience

It was ok. Not keen on the self-check-in, last minute text instructions and anonymity of it all. Don't remember that being mentioned in the information on the site. No criticism of the quality or condition of the place apart from trying, unsuccessfully, to get the TV to work.

This was my second stay at Freemantle Solent Lodge and, like the first visit, gaining access to the accommodation was somewhat a shambles and needs to be simplified/streamlined. The accommodation itself is clean and comfortable with the only reservation being the one bathroom/toilet for use by 4 bedrooms - this could POTENTIALLY be problematic if many are looking for a quick getaway at the same time. The kitchen is well equipped and again clean ; a common lounge if one wants to view on a large screen TV ; fast WiFi ; within walking distance to Southampton Central station (less than 15mins) and local Co-Op and pubs.

Shared house with keysafe - very well decorated and comfortable.
