Host was very welcoming and all was very clean. Breakfast was continental but adequate with a cooked one available on request for an additional charge. Room had everything you need although was a little on the small side. Would certainly stay here again if we were ever back in that area.

Was only down for a couple of days away. Such a beautiful place that feels like home away from home. Very clean and tidy and a very good breakfast. Owners was lovely, easy to talk to and enjoy conversations with and very accommodating.

We loved every bit of our stay at Pensalda Guest House over this long weekend. Our room was spotless really, so neat and clean, with a partial sea view and we had a delicious breakfast everyday, included in our package. Karen was so friendly and welcoming, always carrying a smile and she made sure our stay was nothing less than being at home! It is at an excellent location to the town centre and so nearby to the beach. We will definitely be back and will be recommending to our family and friends visiting. We would highly recommend the stay here :) Thank you Karen.

Helpful staff. Family rooms opened into the garden. Dogs were under control, but could have been an issue if you had a fear.

Fantastic guest house, immaculately presented, clean rooms and friendly, hospitable hosts. Tea/coffee facilities provided, refilled on daily basis. Towels, shower gel and hairdryer provided. Continental breakfast with cereals, toast, juice, hot drinks, fruit and yoghurts included with a lovely cooked breakfast available at additional surcharge. Would be happy to stay here again.

Located on the outskirts of Newquay, this guest house is an ideal base from which to explore the North Atlantic coast of Cornwall. Karen and her son are very welcoming and friendly and put you at your ease immediately on arrival. We stayed in one of the two garden rooms which - although somewhat dated in style - are comfortable and have all you need for a pleasant stay. The garden area itself is lovely and is especially enchanting in the evening under the glow of the lights and the pond. We elected to have Karen's full English breakfasts at extra cost although the simple continental style offering might be sufficient for some people. The full English version got full marks from us and set us up nicely for a day of exploring. The Pensalda is situated in a residential area so - other than a pub - there is not much choice if you just want to walk to a venue for dinner rather than drive into Newquay, although we were lucky to find that the Pine Lodge Hotel opposite the Pensalda had just started offering meals for non-residents. We ate there on both nights of our stay and the food and service were excellent. All in all we very much enjoyed our stay at the Pensalda and would be happy to return.

Karen was super friendly and the place was absolutely spotless. She was very accommodating with my very fussy eating habits too-nothing was a problem…

Friendly staff in a very clean guest house. We had a room round the back, so access was through the back gate. If you don't like animals, particularly a dog this isn't the place. I'm ok with dogs but as we were strangers the dog did occasionally bark aggressively, I had kids with me, the 7 year old did not like the dog. I wasn't aware of the dog from the initial booking, should have read reviews as reviews do state it. We opted for continental breakfast rather than a full English which costs £5. Whilst this is very cheap we weren't made aware of a vegetarian option. The packaged pastries for the continental on our first morning were out of date. We were told breakfast started at 8.15am until 9am so a very small window to get breakfast. The room was very clean, bathroom small but clean. The hot water tap was very hot, whilst there is a sign to warn you, hard to wash hands in the basin for it being extremely hot. Taps were very hard, I have slight arthritis so struggled to close them. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room. The biggest issue we had was WiFi, or lack of. We had no access as we couldn't get it in the room, you could get it at the front of the building which was no good at all. All in all it was a nice family run guest house close to the beach and other attractions.
