Simple charm and comfort.

This is a charming hotel close to the center of the old town. The rooms are attractive and comfortable and the staff are very friendly and helpful.

Absolutely perfect!

Comfortable, clean, great location. Hotel staff were top notch! They were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about local recommendations and even walked us to our destinations a few times! 10/10 Highly recommend

Welcoming and Comfortable Stay in the Old Town

Staff are so kind and go out of their way to make you feel immediately at home and help make sure you have a great trip. I arrived knowing only a little about the area but was set up on a hiking trip to Abuji Lake, got help renting a scooter to explore and also get help planning trips around the area. Excellent base location and really good facilities. The beds were comfortable and electric blankets worked really well. They helped make my trip in Shangri-la! There’s the added bonus of two great dogs in property, cuddly puppies and a kitten. Really a home away from home.

The rooms on the ground floor really lack privacy, one even looks onto the dining room which is awkward and the only way to block it blocks the light source. It looks like the booking page is getting updated so it is clearer what kind of room you book so the customer is more clear on what kind of room they are getting.

Waking up in Shangri-La

We liked the helpful staff. They were so attentive and made check in easier. The location was also very close to the main square and monastery. This made getting around much easier. The rooms are rustic but quiet. No tv but it was not needed.

The room was a bit stuffy and the beds were a bit hard.

I had an excellent stay at this hotel, the staff were super friendly. Especially 曹亚军 who took me on a sunrise hike and showed me around the town. Would definitely recommend and stay again 😊

Lovely Hotel Stay

The staff was extremely accommodating and helpful with everything that my friend and I needed. They were very friendly and gave great tips on what there was to see around Shangri-la. I got sick due to altitude sickness and they took great care of me and made sure that I got everything I needed to feel better. The hotel also HS a café part attached to it and the food and environment there is superb! The bed was nice and cozy and had an electric heater on the mattress in case you got cold at night. It's a shame I had to cut my trip short due to altitude sickness but it was a lovely stay.

Exceptional

Overall, it was nice. room was very clean and comfortable. bathroom was clean. Staff was very pleasant. They suggested a short hike for me to do and I had a wonderful view of the city in morning, because of the hike they suggested. Location was good, close to restaurants and great for walking. They also had a clothes washing machine on site and a place to dry clothes. Nice stay. :)

Amazing!

Hotel owner is so helpful and friendly. She speak some English, but communicated with us so well! She sent us the locations of bike rental, coffee shops and more. She also helped with organizing trips and buses. Couldn’t recommend this place more. It was a little hard to find as the sign was covered by a bush,but she came outside looking for us

Beautiful, peaceful home from home

The staff at this guesthouse were exceptional. They ran out the door to find me as I walked too far past the guesthouse - they’d been waiting to welcome me and were so friendly and kind. They helped get a spider out my room; they organised an incredible day trip hiking to Abuji Lake; they gave me unique recommendations such as walking to a local temple, food market and restaurants. The 2 dogs were gorgeous and lovely to wake up to each morning. The room I stayed in was beautiful - perfectly fitted the name Waking Sunlight.

Lovely hotel and even better staff

Extremely friendly staff here and two very cute dogs. They helped me to organise each trip whilst I was there and gave me great recommendations on what to do each day and during rainy days. Highly recommend!

Superb

The staff was really friendly and helpful. They took us to Songzanlin Monastery in time for the sunrise and even went out of their way to show us some neat sight seeing spots around the area. We were also served a very good chaofan and Asian breakfast made on spot and got to play with their cute dogs. Besides all that, they offer free pick up and drop at the bus station and they were able to tell us which good restaurants were open in town during cny.

The rooms were made with local wood and totally eco friendly, which is beautiful but also not a perfect fit for CNY winter as they were a bit cold.

Had a great stay and would definitely recommend it to anyone traveling to Shangri-la

The staff were extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating during my entire stay. They even made me special dishes because I was a vegetarian. The room was very comfortable and had a lot of sunlight.
