Great stay other than the pool area being closed on 1 of our 2 days for a private function meaning we had to vacate by 4pm and couldn’t use the bar for food and drinks without having to order them through room service. Ian at reception offered a bar credit as means of apology and Emily at the pool bar done what she could to help
4.3
Not bad, but no access in to the bar, due by a pro Vite event
4.3
The smell inside the property was amazing.
4.3
Not worth the cost per stay I was expecting a lot more considering the room rate. Majority of the front desk staff were rude and made us feel very unwelcome. Me and my wife didn’t get any info about the hotel, the room was very small the bathroom is tiny and had mold, coffee maker was sticky. The pool was unavailable for use due to a private event Saturday and Sunday no one told us this in advance I would have reconsidered the booking will not being staying again and will more than likely avoid Andaz properties in the future
4.3
We had a great time celebrating our anniversary at this hotel! Great location and friendly staff.
4.3
We arrived prior to the official check-in time and were told there is a room available. It’s not an upgrade, but for $50 you can have that room early. I found this to be a very tacky policy to extract money from a guest. I’m not sure if this policy extends beyond this Andaz to other or all Hyatt properties but it was a real turnoff.
4.3
Not a Andaz caliber property. Feels like a dressed up embassy suites. Would not recommend or stay here again.
4.3
The andaz converted the rooftop restaraunt and pool to a weekend party scene. Inviting no registered guests It was a loud deep beat party scene for three days. Terrible way to treat guests
4.3
Central to popular attractions in San Diego. Nice terrace restaurant and pool.
4.3
Amazing staff. Upscale property
4.3
I do not like they do not have a free parking
4.3
Staff was all very friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Property was very clean. Rooms were spacious and very hospitable. Great area, if you are looking for someplace with some nightlife. Hotel provides ear plugs, due to the loud nature of the area, but we never needed to use them. Would definitely stay here again.
4.3
Very convenient. Rooftop bar was fun. Only negatives is we couldn’t check in earlier than 4pm and then even after 4pm we had to check with the desk to get our room because the text that is was ready “didn’t go through”. Also it was discovered late at night after we got home that our AC in the room didn’t work. Staff was very friendly and accommodating
4.3
Staff was super friendly and the property smelled good
4.3
Great place to stay. The neighborhood was a bit dicey with homeless but did not have an issue and never felt unsafe.
4.3
There was no help with luggage at all, the room had a view of the wall next door, and the worst part was that between the bathroom and the room, there was a glass wall with zero privacy. Even if I were on the trip with my significant other, I would be extremely uncomfortable. My friend and I ended up using the bathroom in the lobby. When we expressed our discomfort to the concierge, they explained to us that they were fully committed but did not offer any compensation or resolution for the awful discomfort of a very expensive room.
4.3
Tiny room, lots of noise, better is out there…move on. 30 minutes for Valet to bring the car up…grrr
4.3
I thought it was a great place to stay. Everyone was so welcoming. However, replacing your air filters in the rooms might make it better
4.3
It's in a great section if you want to be in the action in Gaslamp. The happy hour at STK was great! Our room wasn't great. The staff were all very nice and helpful.
4.3
Great hotel in a busy area of the city
4.3
Front of house staff were terrible.
4.3
Great staff and location.
4.3
it was dusty and I had an allergic reaction the first two of the three nights I was there
4.3
Really great hitel. awesome staff. great bedding.
the only downside is room service . the options are very limited and expensive
4.3
Clean and well maintained, but the resort fee is too high
4.3
The Andaz San Diego was great! It was perfectly located to do all of the must-do's in San Diego, and it was a really nice property with helpful staff. The first room we had was above STK, which was a bit too loud for us traveling with a toddler, but they were great about moving us, and the new room was great. We'll stay there again and would recommend it to anyone going to San Diego!

Was SHOCKED to discover the $65/day parking fee (Valet only - more on this later) and the $40/day Resort Fee (I shouldn't be shocked at this shameless industry-wide tactic). Hotel was grossly understaffed with the front desk agent parking our car, schlepping our luggage as well as checking us in. Valet parking was unexplainably expensive with ONE valet attendant having to drop off and fetch your car from some distant car parking lot. A number is provided to call for your car, but twice it went to voice mail that was not even set up. The wait to get your car was in our case about 45 minutes and we missed an important business meeting as a result. The room was equipped with a white noise machine and earplugs (I can only guess why, but then we didn't stay over a weekend). Finally, the hot water in the shower was a mystery. In addition to having very low water pressure, the time it took for hot water to get to the room was annoying - as well as figuring out (finally) that in order to get hot water at all, you needed to turn the handle 2/3rds of the way to the red dot. Coffee in the lobby was luke warm with coffee grounds in it. On the positive side, the room was nice, clean, bright and modern - and right in the middle of the famous Gaslamp District. We will not be staying here again.

Nice place also walk a keep work
4.3
Nice hotel that is walkable to tons of restaurants and bars.
4.3
Overall a very enjoyable stay. Very friendly staff.
Some front desk staff knew very little about the hours of the roof restaurant and how to book local activities to use the advertised discount offered as part of the ‘resort fee’.
4.3
Love this hotel! Super close walk to Petco Park. Modern and edgy vibe with a cool rooftop bar and pool!
4.3
The decor is unique. Can do another design for the bathroom. Doesn't really give you any privacy if you need to use the bathroom.
FRONT STAFF AND VALET WERE FANTASIC.
4.3
I really enjoyed and liked my stay at Andaz I love how everything was walking distance from the hotel I would enjoy staying here again, but what I didn’t like is the parking that they don’t have a parking structure and not really a lot of parking around there.
4.3
While the property is very nice it is located a block from a community of homeless people living in tents which is disturbing.
4.3
Property was clean and staff was nice/friendly.
4.3
clean rooms
4.3
I would not stay here again. Homeless camps steps away from the property. Did not feel safe to walk around at night. Didn’t spend much time in the room but when we did the tv did not work and they could not resolve. Loud barking dogs on our floor. Room and lobby area were clean. Never made it to the rooftop bar or restaurant. Disappointed.
4.3
Rooms are VERY loud at night. Feels like you are sleeping in a nightclub.
4.3
Overall, great property. I know they are aware of how noisy the area is, since they provided ear plugs and a noise machine on the nightstand. Great food. Friendly staff. No parking.
4.3
I stayed for 3 nights, the room was freshly cleaned every day. Very inviting lobby with a great location to bars and restaurants.
