Such a lovely stay and welcome to Cape Town! We arrived off a long flight and were greeted with breakfast & friendly smiles. We were even surprised with a room upgrade for the first 2 nights of our stay. Rooms were super comfortable, breakfast was delicious, and staff was super friendly and accommodating. Would highly recommend a stay here!

If you like hospitality, charm, and delicious breakfast… this is the place. Absolutely incredible!

Karen and Ruiano were amazing - great place to stay!

We are two 70-year-old women who felt carefully cared for and attended from start to finish. Godfrey and the other amazing people who work there knew what we needed before we knew. Their recommendations for dining and tours were the best we could imagine. The breakfasts were better than any restaurant we went to. The Lodge is cozy, warm (a must for us!), clean, and had the sweetest coffee and tea arrangement in the room.

Great place to stay when in the Cape Town area. The staff was some of the best I have had the pleasure of dealing with in my years of traveling. Fabulous room options, book it you will not be disappointed.

The staff are super helpful and welcoming, breakfast delicious, refurbished rooms lovely and able to walk to many restaurants/shops happily during the day.
The bar area is quite small so when there are parties travelling together you can be made to feel an imposter. Pool area is shaded which may suit some people.
As yet there is no provision for load shedding but they are working on this. I still rate this 5* as it is exactly as described, I would definitely return.

I highly recommend Blackheath Lodge. Excellent, professional and friendly customer service. By the time you leave, you feel as though you’ve stayed with friends. The loft room is spacious and yet feels cozy. The substantial breakfast is delicious and the chocolate cake and treats always left out to enjoy a special touch. Cannot wait to return!

Located in a nice quiet area close to downtown Cape Town. Excellent breakfast especially the eggs Benedict. Very friendly and helpful staff.

This place will not disappoint. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable of the local area as well as Cape Town.

This was an amazing place to stay during our time on Cape Town. The main thing that stands out is the staff, they are helpful beyond measure and will go above and beyond, with enthusiasm and personality. They genuinely care about their guests and will do whatever they can to help, including assisting in itineraries and bookings. From the security who helps you in the evening, to the guys that cook and serve you breakfast, to the gardener, to the guys that clean the room and front of house who became like friends were absolutely excellent!!! Other things to mention: great location, parking, great breakfast, all day tea/coffee and cake, great rooms...wouldn’t hesitate staying here again, they made the trip! and to top it off they found out it was my birthday and went to the effort to bring out cake and sing (with incredible voices) thank you again (thanks G and K we won’t forget your daily assistance)

A lovely old Victorian house converted into an attractive boutique style hotel.
A chilled out feel with great attentive service.
Breakfast was excellent with a view over the pool.
Central location with easy parking for our rental car next to the hotel.
I jogged down to the beach promenade where there is an outdoor gym and even outdoor swimming pools pretty close.
Would like to have spent more than 2 nights there.
Would recommend this hotel.

The service is second to none. The lodge is clean and well taken care of. The parking is a bit tight, but next time we would probably just Uber everywhere!! Location is great!

Stayed one night between flights in this hotel and it made me wish I could stay there more. The staff was fantastic, the breakfast very good, the complimentary cookies and cake awesome and we slept like babies. Excellent hotel.

This was one of the friendliest hotels I have ever stayed in. All the staff provided a really warm welcome to all the guests. They were clearly genuinely interested in making sure everyone was happy. The building itself is very unique and comfortable (I slept very well - I often suffer from sleeplessness), built in the 19th century, in a great location, a short walk to the beach and an easy drive to the main facilities of Cape Town, and the amazingly beautiful Cape and the top of Table Mountain itself. The breakfast was great and there were lovely delicious extras (cakes and beverages) available to the guests for free. This was my first time in Cape Town, and I will definitely be back to stay in Blackheath Lodge again!

As a boutique hotel, they provide services like a 5 star hotel. Ie sat down with us go over everything to do in Cape Town, coffee, tea, cookies and cakes available all day, bath ropes an beach towel in room.

It is a nice boutique hotel. They care a lot about the details. Friendly staff, Nice beds and pillows. I got a nice upgrade to a big suite with a balcony. I think they might all have an outdoor space. I would concider going back.

We just returned from 4 nights at Blackheath Lodge and 4 nights in Kruger. All the staff at the lodge were wonderful, but Godfrey and Karin were especially helpful. Godfrey took the time to ask what we were hoping to see and helped us plan it perfectly, as well as, offered some new suggestions. We were able to see much more that I thought we would be able to in our short time there. We stayed in the loft room and loved the balcony overlooking the water. Breakfast was very good and included which is always a plus. The neighborhood is lovely and perfectly situated just 5-10 minute walk to the promenade and we always felt safe. We were easily able to Uber everywhere else we wanted. Thank you for making our first trip to South Africa so memorable - we'll be back for sure!

Lovely hotel. Very helpful staff, beautiful grounds, comfortable room and a good location. My friend and I spent 4 days there and would stay there again if ever in Cape Town. No complaints.

I was there for a night and my stay was amazing, its close to the ocean and to green point stadium and not far from the waterfront, the staff were simply amazing simply some of the best people I've had the pleasure of meeting, the lodge rooms are big and spacious

We stayed her before and after Safari. Karin, the manager, could not have been more helpful in helping us with logistics, taking care of bags we wanted stored and laundry after Safari. The breakfasts were superb, the staff friendly, and the rooms comfortable and quiet. When we returned it felt like coming home.

Very warm welcome and really lovely staff. Room was immaculate with thoughtful touches. We WILL be back!

We have stayed at BNB's and hotels throughout the world and have never loved our stay more than at Blackheath. They really overwhelmed us with service. Riano, Charle and our breakfast waiter exceeded expectations, the latter remembering to make my bacon really crisp! Charle came on her night off when we arrived when we had a truly small language problem with the desk clerk that could have waited until the next morning. She wanted to make sure we got situated easily and then plied us with courtesy glasses of wonderful South African wine to start our vacation off even better! They brought tea to our room, no charge, had delicious cakes and cookies and teas each day for snacks, no charge. Riano suggested two fabulous restaurants, not pricey as we requested, close in and delicious food. They furnish a cell phone loaded with the taxi phone number and their contacts so you don't have to mess with international calling plans, etc. The rooms was charming, the decorations beautiful, and the bed wonderful. And the staff seemed to really enjoy guests.Thank you to all the staff--you made our last week in Africa truly stellar!

The first impression was the staff. they were very helpful, courteous, and knowledgeable of the area and the things to do.The breakfast was delicious with many choices. The staff cooked a hot breakfast to order for each client. They arranged many of our tourist things according to our wishes. the room was very nice, well kept, and quiet. We could have stayed much longer for sure.

Had read all the reviews before making our choice to stay here. That many people could not be wrong, and they weren't. 16 room hotel, lodge, B & B...felt like home! Hats off to Charle....she is truly amazing...everything we needed or asked for was delivered with speed and professionalism. Breakfast was served on a small, intimate setting on the covered porch, excellent! The entire staff was warm and welcoming. Look forward to a return stay.

As a solo female traveler going to Cape Town for the first time, I am so happy that I listened to previous reviews and made the choice to stay here.
From the airport pickup that was coordinated by the lodge and the warm welcome given by Antony when I first arrived to my last conversation with Charle when I checked out three days later, I was a very satisfied guest.
The lodge is in a central and safe area. Walking distance to the V&A waterfront and a short (5-10min) cab ride away from attractions such as Table Mountain and District 6.
The staff arranged full day tours for me (with great companies) so I could see the sights in a safe and comfortable manner (thanks again Charle.)
The breakfasts (that were included) were delicious!
24 hr snacks and tea/coffee were great as I sat in the study, read the travel books provided, listened to music and checked my email via free wifi.
A huge asset to the Blackheath Lodge staff is Jean-Claude who was the night manager during my stay.
He answered by many questions about Cape Town and was quite an encyclopedia when it comes to African history!
He helped coordinate dinner delivery on a night when it was too late to head out for a meal. Always very professional and friendly (thanks a million JC)
My room was beautifully decorated and clean with a lovely patio.
If I find myself back in Cape Town, I would without a doubt be back at Blackheath Lodge---thank you all again for an amazing experience.
