About this house rental
***Property Overview***
Cayman Castle and Guesthouse sits directly oceanfront on a private 2-acre gated estate and enjoys a wide white-sandy beach with fabulous snorkeling, kayaking, and sunbathing. Two private infinity pools, multi-tiered oceanfront terraces, a panoramic veranda balcony, and a well-shaded pool deck provide guests plenty of room to spread out and enjoy island living.
This grand estate is not only one of the largest rental villas on the entire island, but it also is a notable landmark. Virtually anyone on the island will be familiar with the Castle in the East End. While we are neighbors to the Wreck of the Ten Sails Park and the police constable's residence to the north, this property enjoys no residential neighbors to the north or south for 500 feet in either direction. This is a gated and walled estate with a private beach within.
The owner takes immaculate care of the property making upgrades every fall to keep the experience not only refreshing and pleasant for repeat guests, but for newcomers to the Cayman Islands as well.

***Villa Cleaning & Sanitation***
-- All villas are cleaned and sanitized prior to each guest's arrival. We also ask our owners to provide a starter supply of extra cleaning products. Additional housekeeping services can be purchased after booking in 3-hour time blocks. Scheduling may be coordinated with your property manager upon arrival.
***Beach Notes***
All beaches in Grand Cayman are technically public since the Queen owns up to the high watermark. Be advised, the beach or water entry behind your property may vary slightly from the images displayed due to weather. The next-door beach is also always available for your use.
***Ocean Debris & Sargassum Seaweed***
Beaches in Grand Cayman may also experience floating ocean debris and sargassum weed seasonally. Sargassum is a generally harmless floating seaweed that has increased in frequency in recent years. Although sargassum is an unsightly nuisance, it is largely seasonal in summer. Our owners do make efforts to remove heavy sargassum and will have the beach raked prior to your arrival.
Should sargassum be extremely heavy behind your property, we will reach out to the owner for alternative solutions which may include a partial refund or relocation. We try our best to work around mother nature.

The Cayman Castle and guest house were outstanding! We were a large group (19) and had plenty of room to spread out and have privacy if wanted. The great room, kitchen and outside patio area were very big and we did not feel crowded at all when all together. The views were fantastic and the facility extremely clean. My only thought for anyone that wants to spend time at 7 mile beach and Georgetown restaurants (I didn't) is that it is a bit of a drive, but for me I loved the fact it was in a quiet area without the crowds of the populated side of the island. There were a few restaurants close to the castle that were great! We took advantage of having the house pre-stocked with groceries and also used one of their recommended chefs one night. Check in and any contact we had with the management company was seamless. We will be back!

Our group had 15 people ranging in age from 5 months to 75 years old. The property is even better than advertised. We never felt cramped or lacked for any room. The Castle and guest house are wonderfully stocked with lot of towels and any kitchen gadget you would need. Lots of books, games, puzzles, pool toys and kayaks.
A wonderful place to spend our anniversary with 4 generations of our family. We would love to come back some day.

Exceeded expectations! Excellent location. Quiet east end of island. Snorkeling by the barrier reef was some of the best on the island. Several restaurants & bars within walking distance. House was perfect for our group of 18 spanning 3 generations. We loved the Cayman Castle!

Property exceeded our high expectations. It was the perfect property for large extended family, as grandparents stayed in smaller unit. We liked being away from the busy side of the island and enjoyed being walking distance to many restaurants and the snorkel/dive shop. Manager was very responsive is our small requests.
We hosted a chef one night and the house was perfect for that, especially that large outdoor deck for dinner.
We would definitely stay there again

We had a great vacation. The cayman castle is an amazing property. It’s always a bit of a hit or miss to rent a property sight unseen using only an online listing. However, in this case, everything was exactly as depicted in the photos and write up. There were 12 of us in our party ranging in age from 19 to 79. The castle had sufficient room to allow everyone their own space while also affording plenty of family time on the multiple decks and in the infinity pool. Without a doubt, everyone in our party felt this was the best beach vacation we have experienced and the cayman castle was simply amazing. It’s located on the east side of the island away from the traffic and tourists, yet close enough to travel to Rum Point (north side of island) and 7mile beach for day excursions. We used the kayaks and snorkeled most days right at the castle. The castle has everything you need. And is within walking distance to a couple of great restaurants and bars. Our family had such a good time. I highly recommend this property if you’re thinking of staying on GCM.

We were a family of adults and children, ages 8 to 17. Overall the castle and location were perfect for our family. Only disappointments were the pictures online were a little deceiving as the infinity pool was actually much smaller then pictures indicated. Also the beach was pretty much unusable due to large amount of broken glass in the sand. Restaurants close to the castle were great! Island locals were extremely friendly and helpful.

If you are looking for something different than the resort scene at 7 mile beach, then Cayman Castle may be what you are looking for. Great views from every angle. The area had everything we needed from groceries to restaurants. Big Tree BBQ, Tukka, Eastern Star Fish Fry, Taco Cantina...all were wonderful. The house itself was ideal...very comfortable for all 8 of us. Infinity pool and surrounding patio were ideal. Bonus tip...make your way out to the white buoys for awesome snorkeling. Absolutely loved our visit to the East End.

Just a magnificent spot. Owners and rental corporation were prompt and friendly. Cleaning staff the same. We had a wonderful stay.

After a long day of traveling we arrived to a house that was not ready for us due to the late checkout and messy conditions left by the previous occupants. The cleaning service were very nice and apologetic and promised to hurry but it was well after check-in before we were able to settle in. Driving up to the house, it really does look like a small castle with beautiful views of the water. The main house is on one side of the parking area and the guest house is on the other. There is enough parking for three cars. The location of two of the bedrooms in the main house were a little odd, one looked more like a storage room and the other you had to go outside to get to. It took a long time to get hot water to the third floor bathroom. The second floor to the main house was nice and comfortable with plenty of seating for our family of 12. The patio had a great view of the blue water. There was a black bird that tried to get in the windows of the stair well every morning at 6:30 and he was loud and very insistent The kids thought that was very funny. The guest house was nice but the living room furniture was not very comfortable. We did enjoy the private pool. There were large iguanas sitting on the garden walls every day. The private beach was dirty and the water was brown and covered in seaweed and sea grass so we were not able to use it. We were told that this was unusual and due to seaweed coming from a different country. It was all along the east coast beaches. The location of the house was in a very quiet area with a few restaurants, marinas and a small grocery store nearby. It is also right next door to a police station. The Wreck of the Ten Sails Park is within walking distance but it is not much to see. It was about an hour drive to the airport and to seven mile beach, which is beautiful. The Turtle Farm is also about an hour drive but worth the visit. It is about a twenty minute drive to The Queens Botanical Gardens, some of the family went to this and enjoyed it. It was about thirty minutes to Kaibo Marina where we went for a snorkeling/stingray adventure. Highly recommend this. It is a short drive to the blowholes, which are worth the stop. Some of the family played golf at Arnold Palmer’s golf course and said it was beautiful. Eagle Rays Restaurant is within walking distance and the food is pretty good. Despite the few negatives, we enjoyed our stay.

This was my second stay in the Cayman Castle. It's a beautiful home with all the amenities. The kayaks were a great addition since our last stay there many years ago. It's now possible to kayak out to the shipwreck site and snorkel around the coral reefs. We drove over to the Silver Thatch Guest Services building, which had just opened, and were able to work out in the gym and check out brand new snorkel equipment. The east end of the island seems to be more developed in recent years. We enjoyed eating at Italian Kitchen (3 times!), Tukka, and Eagle Rays. They were all very good and the service was great.
4.0
The property is breathtaking, outside and inside. But, no where in the brochure did it indicate that the third floor master suite could only be accessed by a winding metal stairway. Given our ages, it quickly changed our sleeping plan. Only one person was able to navigate the staircase and getting luggage up there was a real issue. We also did not realize the beds would be higher than anticipated and we had to share a small stool some nights just to get under the covers! Ice makers in both residences were broken (we were alerted with notes) and the televisions
in the bedrooms in the villa did not work. We did call. No response. The pools were beautiful and well maintained. We did feel the towels, especially the face cloths were rather shabby and need to be replaced. And, for some reason we assumed that the iron gate at the road could be closed at night. Nothing electronic and impossible to move. Lighting between the two residences could be better. Or, provide flashlights at the entrances and exits. Everyone seems to know the Cayman Castle and it was easy to call for restaurant reservations. We utilized one restaurant service offering transportation for large groups - we numbered 10. It allowed us to dine out and enjoy without worrying about darkness and a winding road. Although there was little sun, the majority of the group were business owners or elected officials and having very relaxing days reading, eating and talking made for a wonderful time.
2.5
Positives: 1. spectacular views, 2. private beach, 3. great owner, 4. lots of private areas, 5. access to reef very close, 6. great fishing off the dock, iguanas large and exotic, 7. sunrise and sunset both awesome to watch from the same decks, 8. next door to largest dive operation on the east end, 9. very private.
Negatives: 1. very aggressive winds, not near tennis courts (although we were able to play on a less than spectacular tennis court at a nearby hotel), 3. 40 minutes from only 18 hole golf course on the island (very expensive green fees)
Overall Rating: wonderful

We had an awesome time at the Cayman Castle! Our experience was fantastic and will be remembered forever. We hope to do it again someday!
