We had a delightful stay in this charming house. It was roomy and had most everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It was fun to have a view of the Mississippi.

Cape Girardeau is about the halfway point for us (Wisconsin) and friends from Mississippi. This VRBO is ideally located within walking distance to plenty of restaurants, shops and bars. Property is very clean, has the basics and communication with the owner was super easy. The saloon-style doors for the downstairs bathroom were a little unexpected, but we made it work. We enjoyed our stay and would recommended this property for a long weekend.

Really nice historic home. Plenty of accommodations to allow for preparing meals etc. Very close to the park and the little strip by the river.

I’m bad about reading instructions, didn’t fill out agreement 24 hours prior to check-in, so code didn’t work right away, but after calling I was let in immediately.
House is nice. You can see the river from inside the house or anywhere in the yard. Room for kids (or adults) to play or sprawl out in the floor without a bunch of unnecessary furniture and breakables.
Board games, puzzles in dining room cabinet, lots of apps on tv, silverware, pots, pans, utensils, dishes, cups, and spices in the kitchen, plus coffee pods, sugar, and creamer. Love the exposed brick!
The sitting furniture in the living room is comfortable with good throw pillows. Coffee table is the right size to play games, do puzzles together. Tv is a good size.
The backyard is a nice place to have a picnic and watch birds. Back porch has 2 good sized rocking chairs while the front porch has a swing big enough for at least a few people facing the river. Backyard has a hammock hanging from a small pergola.
Beds are beautiful and comfortable. I slept like a log. Pillows are plentiful, blankets are sufficient with ceiling fan on.
Huge refrigerator and freezer with ice tray. Large dishwasher, stove, oven, microwave. Double sink for food prep or lots of dirty dishes.
City water is good and water pressure is phenomenal!
It’s nice to just turn off the lights, lock the doors, and go.
It was so, very quiet the entire weekend. Will definitely try to stay again, someday!

The house was very clean and plenty of room for college friends to get back together for a weekend. Great location too! Owner was very helpful when I had questions. Would definitely stay here if I visited again!

Charming home located at edge of questionable neighborhood where we experienced no negative issues. Loved being able to walk to river and downtown.

SO, don't let the beautiful exterior mislead you. IT IS LOCATED IN A BAD PART OF TOWN This house has many problems: petrified cat poop on floor, TICKS, POOR airflow, only 1 real bathroom to use, WIFI that kicks you out often and very little supplies such trash bags and toilet paper. First, the downstairs bathroom shower should NEVER be used; it flows all over the room. The ghetto round plastic barrier on the floor is an epic fail. The floor was so slippery when I finished my shower, I almost FELL. I used a towel to clean their floor because it was a hazard and they want to charge me for not being hurt on their hazardous floor because I dirtied a towel to clean it. The downstairs bathroom had funky half doors which sucked as there was no privacy as you could see in the doors easily. The other bathroom has no curtain on the upper window so if you stand their naked you are on display. I found a tick on me when I was sitting on the couch and another one by the back door the next day. I think I have lyme disease from the ticket bit so now I have to go to my doctor because I have been sick since I left the house. There is no garbage disposal in the kitchen and the knives were not of the best quality to use when preparing food. The potatoes peeler didn't work. There was petrified little turds on the floor under the TV.

This home sits close to the river and near some nice places to eat and talk a walk near the river. Away from the busier parts of town but just a quick drive to all of the chain restaurants and shopping. The home was nice and clean with all of the amenities including shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Was pleasantly surprise to find a couple fans for the ones need one to sleep blowing on them.

If my son ends up attending SEMo, we will be back!

We visited the historic river town of Cape Girardeau to see family and wanted our own space. We always admire historic homes, but have never owned one, so this was our opportunity to feel like we lived there. Leaded glass cabinets, but beautifully remodeled modern kitchen, full laundry room, etc. It was wonderful being so near the river, we could see huge barges making their way north from the windows or porch. Great restaurants, coffee, etc. down town. The host was always very responsive, she has a passion for hosting and it shows.
