It was very wonderful to stay here at Sonias apartment - the pool was always clean, nice view into the hills and a playground for the kids.
We would stay here again.
Thank you for everything Sonia

If you are looking for a quiet getaway with an amazing view, and great restaurants around- Book this property! The host is absolutely amazing and extremely sweet and was able to accommodate our every need. The landscape was serene, and the home was perfect for our party of three with bedrooms on opposite ends for privacy.

Wonderful place to rest you head and unwine after a hectic day in Florence

The apartment is set in a small, rural hamlet, a kilometre outside San Casciano in Val di Pesa, surrounded by olive groves and vineyards. Florence, Sienna, San Gimignano are a short drive away, making this a perfect base from which to explore Tuscany.
The apartment is well maintained, and the kitchen well-equipped. It was very spacious for our small family of three, and could comfortably accommodate a family of five. There are two separate apartments in the building, and we heard only minimal noise from the other one.
Thank you Sonia, for a lovely stay.

Located in a beautiful Tuscan country side with wonderful views from the front of the house to the hills.
We staed in the lower appartment in July which is very spacious, clean and has a lovely interior, good beds and two bathrooms. All windows have screens against musquitos. No airco and only one ventilator which was not sufficient enough in the heat of this year. One in each bed room would have been nice.
We shared the pool and the garden with another family in the top apartment. (Please note that the pictures on the site are of both apartments).
The pool is a good size and we loved the amazing views of the hills from it. The kids (11 and 14) loved cooling down in the pool. Enought place also to sit and play in the garden.
The host, Sonia is very welcoming and helpfull with tips for restaurants (even called in our name for reservations) or places to visit or where to park in Florence.
We made trips to Florence (40 min to the centre, with the traffic in florence), Siena, San Gimignano and visited the town nearby, San Casciano. We had the most wonderful dinner at Osteria Il Gallo Giallo, only a 7 minute drive.
For winetasting you just have to cross the road!
So lots to enjoy and a perfect place also to relax (do bring lots of insect repellent:))
Definitely would recommend this!

We had a fantastic stay at this home. The owner was always very kind and helpful. The location gives a true Tuscan feel and is close enough to town for shopping. It is also a great launching point for Tuscany day-trips , too.
We cannot wait to return.
Thank you Sonia!!!!

I searched high and low for a place in tuscany which was in the countryside but close to a town, which was close to an airport, and which was child friendly. This place was one of the only places I found, and it was PERFECT. We stayed with our 18 month old toddler, no need to chase him round all the time as the apartment is spacious, step-free (apart from the entrance door where there are a couple of low steps), the garden is amazing with a play area, a fenced-off pool (which he LOVED) (and so did we). Sonia and her family made us feel so welcome, helped with any enquiries, provided fans in the heat wave, guided us to local restaurants and parking. Sonia even gave me some paracetemol when I had a bad shoulder :)
Even with a toddler we were able to go visit places like Greve in Chianti, Volterra, San Gimigniano and Florence, the apartment is so close within driving distance to so many amazing places to see. We popped to the local Co-op for supplies, and ended up cooking in the apartment as much as we ate out.
Also worth mentioning that there is excellent sound proofing, there was a family staying in the other property for some of our stay, sound-wise we couldn't tell the difference from when it had been empty.
Cannot recommend this place highly enough.

We stayed for 6 nights in the first week of September. We rented the two bedroom apartment. The apartment was cozy but well equipped with everyday needs. They have a very nice lawn and play area outside which our daughter enjoyed a lot.
Sonia is a wonderful host and was very helpful in terms of making our stay comfortable. She went out of the way to pick up my wife and daughter from nearby village when our car needed a jump start and we were waiting for the tow truck. She was always enthusiastic about helping us and also suggested places to visit during the stay. There were also everyday items like oil, salt, milk, even fruit juice etc in the kitchen and a basket of goodies on the kitchen table when we first arrived.
The place is located between two towns of San Casciano and Mercatale and is close to (driving wise) restaurants and grocery shopping. Also the location good for day trips as many Tuscan towns like Florence, Siena, Pisa are within an hour to hour and a half.
The only problems we faced were some communication issues because of the English-Italian conversion. We also had difficulty finding the place initially because the translation from Italian to English did not go perfectly in the directions to the property. The last but not the least was some mosquito trouble.
Overall it was a wonderful stay and Sonia is a great host. We would definitely recommend her place .

We spent almost one week at Sonia's holiday house with our 2 small children. The house is charming and neat. The garden is very large and beautiful with olive trees, nice places to seat and a nice view on the countryside. There are also playing areas for the children and ours could play for hours. We could make a barbecue one evening. Location is great, aside from the road, quiet but still with good connections to some restaurants (charming and tasty cantineria!!!) and also to the City of San Cascianno where you can find everything you need. And last but not least, Sonia is absolutelty charming and helpful. We had a great stay at this place. Thank you! Grazie mille!!!!

Great location to visit a lot of little town around. Nice appartement for two couple. the wi-fi is weak but work. To me, as a clean freak, the floor need a good wash and the sofa to be replace.

I could not say more positive things about staying at Mughetto, Sonia was so gracious and the place was just what I imagined staying in Tuscany. We were close to many cities for day trips, she helped set up a golf game at a nearby course, we found a small wonderful restaurant for dinner less than a km away. Sonia showed us places to go on maps she had for us at the house, we took her advice and had wonderful day trips to Firenze and Siena. Quiet, peaceful, and beautiful just about sums up the location. Would stay here again in a heartbeat, thank you so much Sonia and family!! Grazie, Grazie!!

The house is in the middle of the wine yards and fields of olive trees, you can't get a better picture of the Chianti. Hosts were very kind and present when needed. The house is minimally equipped, with just what you need. The garden was a paradise for our kid and as well, relaxing for us. San Casciano in val di pesa offers all the services required, and is very cute. The house is ideally placed 30 min from Firenze and 60 from Siena, which is a real plus!

Perfect place for day trips in Tuscany. Apart from Florence, which is why we chose this location, we also visited Pisa, Lucca (lovely), San Gimignano (a must!) and Siena.
Il Mughetto is a very clean and spacious apartment on the ground floor: two bedrooms, two bathrooms (a big plus for our family of five), kitchen, sitting room and a small private patio, not to mention the huge garden with beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. The only minor inconvenience is the wifi, it only works from the bedroom next to the kitchen.
The owners, Sonia and Sauro, are very kind and welcoming. We would not hesitate to return!

Only viable if you have a car due to it's off the beaten track location. A great CO-OP is a couple of miles away in the nearby town. The apartment has a good kitchen though no oven. Two great bedrooms and two really nice bathrooms with showers. There was one working TV with predominaantly Italian channels. No air conditioning but the apartment stayed comfortable. The wi-fi signal was weak forcing us to find a better signal outside at times. The small above ground swimming pool was clean but too cold for us to brave. A shame because the weather was hot and the view and ambience enchanting. Sonia is charming and helpful and can communicate adequately in English. Overall a very clean and enjoyable place to stay. My one gripe was being charged 3 euros to use the tumble dryer on top of 3 euros to use the washing machine. Very hapy with the value over all though. A heated pool would have made it 5 stars for me.

Sonia was a great host! We booked at last minute with her and the communication and process was very easy. She make us felt like we were home.
The apartment itself had everything we needed and was clean.
Location is excellent, 15 minutes from Florence, 30 minutes from Sienne and also perfect for driving around Tuscany. Restaurants near San Casciano gave us the best meals from our entire trip. Good to be away from the crowds of big cities.
Would stay there again!

The house has an excellent location - only 15 min from Florence by car, in a wonderful place with great Tuscan views.
The house is totally independent, rather spacy, clean, with everything you can need (except for dishwasher).
Very big garden with olive trees, thick green grass, a pool and children's playground which is very convenient.
Right across the road there is a tenuta were you can buy good chianti classico wine and olive oil directly from a producer.
The owners are very nice and helpful people.
I would recommend this place for families with children. However all the others will definitely enjoy it here.

Had a great stay in Sonia's place in San Casciano. Good location for day trips to some of Tuscany's most famous highlights. Comfortable apartment to stay in, clean and neat with enough privacy and a great view from the garden. Very silent too which was great after having been in noisy Rome for 6 days! Sonia was very welcoming and friendly - immediately pointing out where we could do necessary shopping and where the good restaurants are.
Only remarks we'd make is that there is no oven (not that it was promised in the description but would have been nice to have one) and that the garden is on the eastside of a hill which effectively meant that the sun was gone from the garden by 18.00 during the season we were there (mid-September). Once gone it immediately became a bit chilly! Not too big of a deal but if the garden were directed towards west we could have enjoyed more of the nice evenings outside.
But definitely no big complaints - we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to other couples.

"We enjoyed this apartment as the third apartment on our families 3 month Italian holiday (all 7 apartments booked through Homelidays). The owners welcomed us on arrival (they live next door), and are very organised and helpful. The house is extremely clean, organised and recently renovated, so the bathrooms and kitchen are of very high quality. A high chair and cot was available for our 1 year old baby. The linen and towels provided was very nice and new. A couple of comments - the house central heating is charged additional to the daily rental - it works out to about 1 euro per hour to heat the whole house. Also the clothes washing machine and drier are charged extra at 2 euro's each per operation. There is a beautiful and large garden and grassed area, which we enjoyed most afternoons in lovely spring weather. Our children enjoyed playing on the swings, slides, and doing painting/drawing under the gazebo. We highly recommend the house to others, and consider our stay the favourite of our entire holiday."
