In the morning, relax on the deck with a cup of coffee and watch for deer in the yard and the mist lift off the lake as the sun comes up. Enjoy some after dinner smores around the firepit while looking for constellations and shooting stars overhead.
The road and driveway are paved all the way to Camp Tugaloo. The driveway is on a bit of an incline. In the winter, if you are concerned about freezing ice, there is a parking spot at the top of the driveway. The parking area in front of the house will accommodate 4 cars, or 3 cars and a boat with trailer. You can also park your boat and trailer at the top of the driveway.
If fishing or swimming is your thing, you can head across Hwy 123 and access the lake for shore fun. The Stephens County Rec Area is about 0.5 miles from the house and has a free boat launch! There are also picnic tables, remnants of an old bridge and lots of opportunities for fishing & swimming. If you like to go chasing waterfalls, Camp Tugaloo is less than 10 minutes from the beautiful Toccoa Falls, about 20 minutes from Riley Moore Falls and Brasstown Falls, and less than 30 minutes from Tallulah Gorge and Panther Creek. Camp Tugaloo was perfect for our family and had room for more! The camp theme was unique and adorable. The kids room was the best... I mean what kid doesn't love a bunkbed, much less a TRIPLE bunk?? So fun! The house was stocked with everything we needed and was just perfect. Minutes from Toccoa and the college (the reason for our stay)... we will.definitely be back to stay again! Kim was a great hostess-- very responsive

Our family and friends stayed here for the weekend as we were hosting a charity golf tournament at Currahee Country Club. We were quite busy with that but had some downtime to enjoy the house and surrounding area. The home was wonderful, stocked very well and we would love to be able to enjoy the home again in the future.

My friend and I stayed at this property on the weekend of 6/14/2024 while in town for parents weekend at Camp Pine Cove. The pictures of the cabin were super cute but upon arrival we were disappointed to find that the yard was covered in 5’ tall weeds. The porch and porch furniture were filthy and covered in bird poo, bugs and cob webs-not just a few, covered. The porch was totally unusable. The outdoor picnic table was filthy as was the area around it. We were looking very forward to having our kids over to the cabin to cookout but without doing a major cleaning that wasn’t going to be possible. When we walked into the house we found open bags of chips and food in the cabinets, cigarette ashes, beds that had been slept in with very dirty sheets. The towels were mildewed. The sofa was badly stained, etc. I contacted the host about the yard explaining that the whole reason we rented this cabin was to use the outdoor space and enjoy the view of the lake, which by the way you can not see at all from the cabin. There is a very busy road in between the cabin and the lake and no lake access that we could find.
The host told us she would have someone over to address the issues but no one came. We washed the sheets, made the beds and washed the towels ourselves because there really wasn’t another option. We were on this trip to see our kids who we hadn’t seen in months. We didn’t want to spend our time cleaning someone else’s house, esp when we were paying over $400/night.

We adored our stay here! The hosts have thought of everything, and it was fun to discover the many extras. The only thing we didn’t realize was that the road in front of the house is actually rather busy, so it wasn’t quite as remote as we had expected. But the view was beautiful, the home was beautifully decorated, spacious, and comfortable, there were plenty of nearby things to do, and our sweet little doggie could also accompany us. There was even a dog lead outside so we could hook her up for a while without waiting for her to use that bathroom. We enjoyed the fire pit, the karaoke machine, the foosball table, the many books and games, and more. We would definitely like to stay again.

The pictures do not do it Justice in any way. We had an absolutely wonderful time. Everything was very clean and we had everything we needed for cooking as well as entertainment. The children absolutely adored the upstairs game room. We all enjoyed sitting on the porch and looking at the water. There was some road noise but it wasn't anything too distracting. There are also several places to visit around the area. We felt it was perfect for visiting Helen as well as other falls, trails, and parks around the area. The little town is very pleasant. My mother was especially excited to be able to go into a Hallmark store. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and plan on making it one of our regular vacations.

Such a great stay at Camp Tugaloo! Wonderful home with every necessity included. The front porch and bonfire were great places for the family to hang and enjoy 😊 The dining table was big and hosted our whole group! Beds and bathrooms were amazing too - the tub downstairs was a dream.

The house was perfect. Everything was exactly as described. The host thought of everything. We didn’t have pets with us, but if you do there are plenty of accommodations available. There were tons of activities to keep our kids occupied while we were there. The WiFi didn’t work while we were there, but we didn’t need it. There were plenty of movies and our phones had great coverage. Overall we couldn’t be more pleased with the stay.
One thing to be mindful of is the driveway is pretty steep. If you’re there while it’s raining, you may have a little trouble getting back up the hill. We were able to make it in a minivan but it took some time.

Camp Tugaloo was perfect for my daughter’s 16th birthday. We had two adults and five teenagers. The girls LOVED the bunk room and being able to hang together in one space. The cabin was a perfect size, stocked kitchen, and plenty of essentials for the weekend. I appreciate not having a long list of things to do for checkout. Cabin is close to Toccoa Falls and Lake Hartwell is across the street on the other side of the road. The road was a bit noisy but didn’t bother us. We went to Boondocks one night which is a cool/fun place. Kim had suggested it. I recommend this cabin and would stay again!

Perfect location and amount of space for our family to stay in the days leading up to my wedding at Toccoa Falls. Large dining table was handy for our makeup artist and hair stylist to set up to get us ready the morning of the wedding. Host was very kind, thoughtful, and quick to respond. 5/5 entire experience.

The house was perfect for a large family with 5 kids. The bunk room was a hit with the kids. The kitchen and bathrooms were well stocked. It was like going to moms house; if you forgot something she has you covered.

We have stayed at many rentals, this house was by far the most comfortable and well appointed home yet. We stayed for 4 nights, and brought our dogs. It did not feel like we were staying in a short-term rental. Kim has thought of EVERYTHING that might make guests feel more at home. The soaking tub and huge jar of bath salts were a big hit. The road below is a little busy and noisy, but that certainly didn't prevent us from enjoying the hammock chairs on the porch. This is a perfect place for a family to enjoy.

We had an amazing time! The house was beautifully decorated and had everything you might need. The kids loved interacting with "Ziggy" and the adults loved being able to play music. Would recommend this house to anyone needing to stay in the Toccoa area for sure!

Our family (me, husband, 3 kids, and my parents) had an amazing time at Camp Tugaloo! There was enough space for us to all hang out together and also for alone time when we needed it. The downstairs bedroom was perfect for my parents, and our kids LOVED the bunk room. We had to bribe them to come out and go fishing. The floor in the King sized room upstairs does squeak a bit, but only bothered us when our dog got up once to roam at night. We walked along the road to the lake and enjoyed some fishing – it was too cold to catch anything but it was fun to try! I was a bit worried about crossing the road, but it wasn’t a big deal. Waking up to the sunrise over the lake to the right of the deck and watching it set to the left of the deck everyday was wonderful, a perfectly positioned deck. We went to Toccoa Falls (so beautiful), checked out downtown historic Toccoa (super cute) and kayaked on the lake. We brought our own kayaks and drove them right around the corner to the boat launch. There was one other vehicle parked in the lot. At night we enjoyed watching movies and snuggling on the couch. We definitely recommend Camp Tugaloo and are looking forward to coming back! Oh, and you can tell all the camp themed décor was thoughtfully curated +++
