About this cottage rental
Rabbits scamper, buzzards soar and windows flood rooms with light in this cosy stable with glorious views. Let the kids and dogs roam free!
Stealing its name from the backdrop of ancient undisturbed woodland, the cottage and its surrounds make a natural family home – for both frazzled humans and local badgers. Winding
your way up the long peaceful track to this converted stable, you catch glorious glimpses of the Teme and Kyre valleys; the setting is spectacular. On arrival, you're greeted by the
delightful Ellie, whose grounds and beautifully tended English country garden you share. Generous windows flood rooms with light that bounces off polished elm floorboards; a wood-burner and Aga keep things cosy, the kitchen is handcrafted, the views are long and bucolic. Upstairs, bedrooms are brass-bedded and floral, tucked under the eaves in that cottagey way. You get a handy loo and basin up here, and a sparkling bathroom with a roll top tub downstairs. Lucky children have seven acres to romp in, and a secret treehouse with hammocks and a barbecue for midnight feasts. Resting on the borders of three counties, this is prime walking country. Bustling Ledbury and Ludlow, England's slow food capital, are just a drive away.
The cottage offers magnificent views in all directions-over the Teme and Kyre valleys, ancient woodland and unspoilt farmland. Longcover is a detached cottage in a very rural position. Guests will enjoy a private patio at the side which looks on to fish pools and an ancient oak woodland. Leading directly from the cottage is an extensive network of footpaths and bridleways where badgers and owls may be seen. Tenbury Wells, an attractive spa and market town in the Teme Valley, is 4 miles away. The fine Georgian town of Ludlow is 25 minute drive away.

Great stay, wonderful host, lovely cottage.

Long Cover cottage is the perfect retreat in the perfect setting run by the perfect host. The cottage and grounds are utterly beautiful and the freedom to wander around, and use the facilities: an outdoor pizza oven, croquet set, two gorgeous, well equipped bothys, was magical. Eleanor was wonderful - warm, friendly and helpful but unobtrusive, genuinely the perfect host. I would recommend to anyone wanting to get away from it all; the only sounds to be heard are the birds, bees and wildlife and the wind in the trees. We will definitely be back.

This was our second visit to Long Cover as a family of four. Great to be able to eat out on the terrace and wander through the garden. Next door to the owners house - even a lovely Labrador to greet us.

Hostess was superb and available at any time although fortunately, we didn’t really need her. She lives on site and responded to our enquiries almost instantly.
Beautiful gardens, great views, all sorts of cubby holes to hide out and read in (in inclement weather, a great spot to sit comfortably and light the stove ). Don’t visit if you’re looking for entertainment- it is quiet and excellent for walking and solitude.
There is a dog on the property and he is a big, young, hyper puppy. He’s strong but such a nice animal and super social; he doesn’t bark or enter your rooms.
Remember you’re in the country and be respectful and responsible!
I couldn’t say more

As soon as we arrived we wanted to stay longer. The view, spectacular; peace, perfect; little house, charming. Everything clean and well thought out, good amount of kitchen utensils and equipment, cooker as well as aga. Enough wood for daily fires, private terrace and garden space. Walking directly from the garden to lovely bluebell woods and fields. Eleanor and family were charming and helpful with everything and very tolerant of our old dog who went to visit them. Just lovely , did I mention the view?

Such a lovely place in a fabulous area. Full of interesting things. Everything you could need. Super comfy beds. The garden is amazing and there is a little garden house with a stove and tea things.
Chickens and wildlife.
Just got everything.

We stayed at the cottage to get away from the noise of New Year fireworks, mainly for the dog's sake. It was perfect. Really warm and comfortable with only the sound of owls at night. The only thing we didn't enjoy was the muddy track up to the cottage, but this was a minor issue. Loved the ducks and peahens in the garden. The grounds would be lovely in the summer.

Absolutely amazing cottage and grounds, like being in your own National Trust house and gardens.
Elle was great and made us feel very welcome.
Lots of fun places to visit in the area.
Thank you for a great week.

The cottage and surrounding gardens are absolutely beautiful with lots to see and a truly unique period cottage. The rental description says that children are welcome but for me this property was not suitable for small children. The lawned area at the back of my the cottage falls away by a few feet to the path at the back which meant we couldn’t let my youngest explore the garden without us next to her. The owners also had a large new dog that took some of my daughters football and came into the cottage, he also jumped up at my daughter making her cry: he was not vicious at all but if the dog wasn’t trained yet he shouldn’t have been let out when young children were staying on the property.

The cottage and its grounds were just lovely. There was plenty of room for our family of 5, our puppy and the puppy crate and the cottage was super cosy and well equipped. Lovely white linens too. Loved the owls hooting at night and the bees and woodpeckers during the day. Would happily go back and explore the area further now that we have our bearings. Many thanks for such a super break.

We loved our stay at Long Cover cottage, we wish we could have stayed longer! In this crazy time it was the escape we all needed as a family. We loved going for walks and exploring the grounds. Our daughter loved the swings and we all loved snuggling in with the log fire on in the evenings. Ellie was a great host and we hope to return again in the future.

Lovely Christmas tree all set up with a fantastic log burning stove. Lovely atmosphere.
Would highly recommend a stay 😊😊

Warm friendly welcome (& cake), fabulous old property, stunning setting and views, cosy and comfortable...everything we could ask for a get together with family for a few days. The property immediately hugs you and makes you feel relaxed, especially as it was so warm from the Aga on a cold evening! Beautiful views and walks as soon as you open the door, the children and dog loved exploring the woods and garden.
Beds were very comfortable ...just a tad too heavy duvets for our personal liking, but we just opened the windows and as there is complete silence outside (apart from the odd owl) we all slept soundly.
Town just a few minutes away-Ellie recommended some places to eat -we had Sunday Lunch at the Rose and Crown which we highly recommend. Also visited Kyre garden, just a mile away. Apparently under a long renovation, but a great place to wander amongst some beautiful trees, especially in Autumn...and discover a few surprises!
All in all a lovely, relaxing, snug Autumn break at Long Cover Cottage. Thank you Ellie
