Location, cleanliness, staff
No room service. Formal dinning only.

Nydelig beliggenhet! Nydelig sted generelt.
Savner muligheten for å kjøpe noe kaker/ smørbrød mm i baren/kaffestue ved resepsjonen. Blir veldig låst til måltidene.

Extremely accomodating and pleasant staff at the hotel and restaurant. For instance had to call and move our dinner reservation because our drive from Sweden took longer than expected and they moved us even though they were quite busy in the restaurant. The food in the restaurant was really very delicious and the view from the restaurant and also from the pavillion where they serve breakfast was beautiful.
We thought that the hotel would be in a more secluded location, but it's surrounded by other housing complexes and homes on all sides. This was not a problem, it just wasn't quite what we expected.
We also had a problem with our booking - we had booked a family room, but for some reason this wasn't showing up correctly in the hotel's system, and they did not have any more family rooms. We received two double rooms instead which was also fine for us in particular as we were only staying for 1 night.

The room, the breakfast (food, choice and room), the location close to the beach, the building is very beautiful.
The art in general is not necessarily joyful.

It’s built in 1767. Couldn’t be better. Wonderful view and displayed very famous artists like munch’s. Definitely visit again someday.

Breakfast was very good, lovely setting.

Breakfast
Noisy room. Nespresso machine and tea on the room. Nice. But how to cook water for the tea?
When I draw a line: very little value for the money if you just want to sleep over

Location, history, garden, beautiful dining room with art by Munch, great sorroundings to go for a walk, near Oslo.
Restaurant was fully booked (our main goal with the trip). We did'nt expect that, but our fault not having booked table in advance. High season start was a bit earlier than we expected.
We heard everything that was happening outside our room, loud noise from the hallway. The doors seemed sort of damaged, wasn't possible to close properly and are not likely to be safe in case of fire (smoke will get in to all rooms quickly) (image attached).

The restaurant could only serve one menu og 4 diches

The dinner was OK, but not excellent
2.0 / 5.0
Nice location with sea view
Shower drain was blocked and not usable. Some effort was undertaken to get it fixed but soon given up on. We were left with no possibility to shower and no compensation was offered in any way
Room temperature was steaming hot with no possibility to regulate
We suffered from dust allergies even though we requested an hyper-allergic room
Breakfast room was extremely crowded
A family gathering resulted in people being very loud in the alleyways in the middle of the night
The hotel presents itself as classy but we found it just old fashioned

The location was splendid. The staff was splendid.
The standard of the food, both breakfast and dinner, was of very low standard, far below what we are used to in a Norwegian hotell.

Lack of the HDMI port on the TV.

Location is perfect, just a short walk down the alley in the garden and you're at the waterfront. Beautiful sunsets right in front of you. Everything about the place (except for the pavilion, but that was fine too), looks very authentic and fits with the concept. Very friendly staff. Really good food, both breakfast and dinner from the Pavilion.
The servers at the restaurant was a bit young and inexperienced, and struggled a bit to follow up.

Breakfast was exceptionel due to the Philipine waitress😀

The bedding was excellent, breakfast top notch and the front staff helping me with everything was much appreciated. The mini bar in the fridge was restocked most days which was convenient. It was great coming back to a very clean room after a long day. Nespresso machine in the room got plenty of use.
Perhaps just a better explanation of breakfast times, bar menu, restaurant hours etc. I only found out near the end of my stay that I could get room service. A room service menu in the room would have meant eating at the hotel far more often. I also could have asked so this is hardly a complaint.

location close to the beach in a quiet area. Praise new cosmetics in the rooms smells wonderful. As always, beautiful works of art please the eye :)
I'm here for the second time and unfortunately it got worse somehow. For the breakfast it was less choice from the last time. The products were not described well, I am not allergic, but I don't like sweetened yoghurt, which unfortunately I took, thinking that it is natural. Maybe I wouldn't pay attention to all this if I got enough sleep, but unfortunately we got a room next to the utility room where noise was coming from the very morning. The first time I was impressed with the service and the breakfast itself..
I hope the opinion will mobilize you. Regards M.
