Always love staying at Kings Croft. The staff are lovely. The space is great and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. It is a good traditional independent thoughtful sort of place - lovely touches and nice surroundings.

Friendly staff and great food

The room we booked was a standard room, it was incredibly small for the price we paid. There was barely enough room to pass each other around the bed. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The drinks at the bar are very expensive.

Stayed for one night to break a long journey. Was pleasant enough, the only suggestion however would be to have a breakfast menu as what was said by member of staff is only ingredients for a full English.
Wasn’t made away of any alternatives to ingredients to a full English (poached eggs, pancakes, etc) so assumed not available
When asking for scrambled egg on toast we got the scrambled egg but was advised to make our own toast which felt a touch odd

Nice clean place with decent clean room, bit noisy in the evenings as old building so music and people talking downstairs can be heard from room (first floor). Bar and a couple of outside seating areas. Breakfast was nice. Pretty good for the money.

Very comfortable and did everything to meet our needs for a one night stay.

There was no lock on the window despite there being a flat roof just outside of it.

We stayed for 2 nights, on the 1st night we didn’t get much sleep early on due to an extremely loud and very heavily Bassed disco below, with people outside the window as well making noise into the early hours.
Saturday night was better, the noise levels were lot better.

All good but room had no windows only skylight. And bar drinks very expensive, but breakfast very good. Also very noisy as had wedding reception going on directly below our room. Still not a bad place to stay

Lovely room (bungalow), beautiful gardens and big breakfast. However, staff could be more welcoming.

Excellent value for money - as good as I have found anywhere - , charming and very helpful staff, easy to find, with good parking and beautiful grounds. Dinner was good, with generous portions.

Booked 2 standard rooms but were given basic small rooms. Reception said that Hotels.com doesn't make it clear what rooms were booked and couldnt move us into requested rooms. One of our rooms had no windows just a skylite above bed with no blind so full daylight at 6am!!

This was something like my 6th stay at Kings Croft. The best hotel in the region. I have stayed at most of them within 20 miles. The food is better, the service is better and it is a more relaxing place than the others in the locale.

This is a lovely hotel, great staff, amazing grounds. Breakfast was good. But I could only give it a good because of the noise.
It is an excellent wedding venue. But our room was very close to the room and we could hear every word from the DJ right up to midnight.
There is no reception at night and so some doors are alarmed. We were woken by alarms at 4:00am.
Door slamming and corridor conversations are not softened in anyway.
I'd give it a go during the week, but not on a party night.

Bridal suite room was lush, bed was extremely comfortable and wonderful large bath, breath taking views, best hotel in the area

The hotel is in attractive grounds and the bar food and breakfast were both excellent. Friendly staff. About 20 minutes walk into Pontefract. Plenty of buses too.
We stayed on a Friday night and there was a wedding and a dinner dance at the hotel. Our bedroom was directly above the room used for the dinner dance. This made it a bit noisy, which could be a problem for some guests or if they had a noisier entertainer.

Nice enough but looking tired in places and breakfast could be better! Dinner however was much better and hard to believe was from the same kitchen.

Room was clean but dark due to overgrown trees and bushes across window.staff very pleasant and helpful.Fire exit was left open all day next to our room, I closed it at 01:00 for security as it was easily accessible from small roof. We were woken up by noise from below can only think it was the function room being cleared a 02:00 then woken again at 07:00 ish. By same noise.my wife said it souned like a ten pin bowling ball being rolled across the floor constantly.I mentioned this when leaving at reception and another guest was at reception and they also said about the noise keeping them awake.I was told we will look into it.We were in room 54 and the other guest was in a room in the 50's.
I have stayed hear before and had no problem, i'd say stay away from rooms in the 50's, Till this problem is solved

We had a nice evening meal with good service.
Rooms are clean and comfortable.
Breakfast ok, but not the same level as the dinner and not enough staff to clean up. Probably my 6th visit.
The disabled parking spaces are always abused by visitors and it's a shame the hotel doesn't manage them.

Really enjoyed our stay at kings croft hotel, the staff were lovely and really helpful. Only downfalls i would have to say would be:
- The rooms need to be more clear or more signposting etc would be better as we were tucked away around the side and it was easily missed where the door was to the room.
- some lamps or smaller light's in the room would have been good as there was only the main light which i could not keep on as it was over the bed. When my child was sleeping it was really bright so either had to sit in darkness or wait for her to wake up before i could turn the light on.
- The carpet in the room needed a really good hoover, dont know if this was because the carpet was black but showed loads of bits all over it and dust around the blinds.
Other than these, the rooms were lovely and the facilities were brilliant and handy!

I really appreciated that the staff realised I had a mobility issue and immediately offered me a ground floor room with the added bonus of a private outdoor area. It was very quiet and I felt very safe there as a solo female traveller. The only issue I came across was the water didn’t drain too well in the bathroom sink, but it wasn’t enough of a problem to affect my stay. Overall a lovely stay considering I was there for a funeral and I hope to return in the future for leisure and explore the area further.
