About this house rental
Enjoy your time up north on the Pike Bay Inlet of Lake Vermillion any time of the year. Lake Vermillion is one of the top ten most scenic lakes in the United States. Within its 40,000 acres of water there are 365 islands and has 1200 miles of shoreline. It stretches for nearly 30 miles across the Arrowhead Region, boarders the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness and is almost completely surrounded by the Superior National Forest.
The main floor is newly renovated with a 3/4 bath and two bedrooms, each with a queen bed. The dining table with seating for 6 and additional seating at the kitchen counter ensures enough room for everyone. Couple that with the large kitchen and cozy living room with gas fireplace and you’re set for a relaxing vacation.
With highspeed Starlink internet, you’ll never have an issue connecting with the outside world, if you feel you need to escape the tranquil world you’ve found. Smart TVs in living room and both bedrooms means you can connect to Netflix, Hulu, Disney and Amazon should you need a break from the great outdoors.
The walkout basement means easy access to the backyard and water. Note: the basement is not finished. It does have an additional two beds, couch, TV and half bath.
There is so much to do on the lake and nearby! FISHING is ideal on Lake Vermillion. The lake contains black crappie, bluegill, brown bullhead, largemouth bass, muskie, northern pike, sunfish, rock bass, smallmouth bass, cisco, walleye, white sucker and yellow perch.
SNOWMOBILING! This area is known as a hub for multiple amazing snowmobile trails including the Taconite State Trail, Arrowhead State Trail and the Iron Ore Trail.
SKIING: Over 7 miles of beginner to intermediate trails wind through the beautiful and quiet woods in Tower. There is even a lighted loop for skiing at night! A Great Minnesota Ski Pass is required.
ATV: The Prospectors Loop Trail System is a new 130-mile ATV trail that connects Ely, Babbitt, Embarrass, Tower, along with Bear Head and Lake Vermilion State Parks. The trail also ties in with trail systems that connect to the North Shore by the Lake County Regional ATV Trail. The trail is open from Spring when conditions permit till November 1 each year. It allows both Class 1 and 2 ATVs (single rider or larger side-by-sides), off-highway motorcycles, and some sections are open for off-road trucks as well as horseback riders.

The cabin was recently updated upstairs and was very nice for 4 people. The mattresses were very comfortable and we all slept well. The only air conditioning unit is in the living room, but we left it on and kept the bedroom doors open with a fan so we could stay cool at night.
The basement had a nice sauna and shower that we used, however it was very musty smelling and we wouldn’t recommend sleeping down there, even though there are 2 beds down there.
The dock wasn’t usable due to high water, but the hosts helped us find a place to keep our boat at Aronson Boat Works just 2 miles away. They were amazingly helpful in getting our boat on the water every day. We highly recommend them!
Overall, I would recommend this place for up to 4 people. The hosts were very accommodating and helpful!

A lovely cabin in the woods. Very clean, beautiful view, lots of space. Very responsive hosts. We did end up moving the boats to a marina- even with the map the bay is a challenge to navigate- Especially for big, deeper draft boats.

Lake Vermilion is a large popular lake, but this house is tucked in the river so it’s private and quiet. If you can manage your boat it’s a simple ride into the lake where fishing, swimming, restaurants are all just a boat ride away. The house is adorable, upstairs is nicely updated. It was very cozy and we felt at home. Bonus was we could bring our dogs! Couldn’t even tell if neighbors were around. We were sad when our week ended. Would gladly come back again. The hosts were responsive and very accommodating.

The cabin was setup very nicely. Navigating the waterway on this area of the lake is a little tricky with all the rocks. Overall it was a nice experience. Great location with easy access to the Y store, Tower, Tavern in the Bay and VC.

Owner replied to questions right away. Check in/Check out was very easy. Property was clean and beds were comfortable. The biggest draw back for us was the location. There is not a view of the lake and we strongly recommend not docking a boat at the property. The Vermilion Dam comes in right by the property and the channel is filled with big boulders. Not ideal for swimming either as the water looks like root beer.

Family friendly, comfortable and clean!
We would definitely stay here again!
