We liked the location of the property as it was close to transport and restaurants.
Had free WiFi and internet.
Had good restaurant.
Staff very friendly and accommodating.
Porter very helpful with our outage.
There was no noise curfew at night/morning.
Television had no stations that were’t pay.
Hard to sleep with all the constant noise of banging doors and loud shouting.

Nice interior, location is good
No elevator 😀
Hassle if you have lots of luggages but they offered assistance to carry our bags.
Less option for buffet breakfast especially for
picky eater kids.

Breakfast was good with enough choices. Front office and restaurant staff are friendly and accommodating.
The insulation of the rooms are not up to standards. One can hear everything happening outside of the hallway and outdoor including a loud rooster at 4 am.
Staff are friendly but needs training. The restaurant staff are not equipped with proper waitering procedures.

Some of the staff are friendly, front desk, cleaner and guard and a guy at breakfast.
We had a free upgrade to see the beautiful view of Mayon volcano. Aside of a little mishaps of getting our room ready by 2pm we’re still waiting at 2:30pm upon check in even they knew we’ve been there before lunch time, but the rest are pretty easy. Close to shops, food retail, church and hospital.
If you go for breakfast make sure you come in early like 6am as we made a mistake of coming in at 8:30am and there’s a tiny bit of beef tapa left and she said it will be replaced with hotdog instead bare in mind the breakfast should be up to 10am which quite disappointing. Aside of placing us in a table where she shown us but didn’t bother getting us spoon or fork instead so we get them ourselves from the staff counter. Also the self serve coffee on the side need to be tilt forward to get the coffee
out which is very dangerous. Aside of that pretty good food for Filipino or Asian but not much options for western family member.

It was very clean and the hotel personal was also very nice.
Very bad price-value-ratio.
I‘ve been traveling through Asia for 8 months now and this was one of the most expensive hotels I‘ve ever had in that time. I‘ve expected a lot after getting a welcome drink & seeing the reception such as the excellent google reviews. But what I got was a hotel without an escalator, a superior room without window, no drinking water in the room, a cold shower & a very very poor breakfast. I’ve ordered some drinking water twice and still didn’t get some.
Only when I went downstairs the third(!) time and ordered some water did it finally come.
Breakfast was the saddest breakfast I have seen in a long time. Firstly, it was cold, secondly, it was almost empty (at 9am) and thirdly, there was almost no choice. The breakfast was supposed to be open until 10am, but nothing was refilled at 9am, after almost everything was gone. At 9:30 the hotel staff started cleaning up.
The staff is very nice, but you can expect much more from the service itself at this price. What annoyed me most was that all the food was absolutely cold.
Unfortunately, I was not satisfied and therefore cannot give more than 3 stars. I hope the hotel is working on the problems - otherwise I can only advice against it.

A spotless clean hotel with excellent customer service. The employees were all professional, very attentive and always greet their guests with a smile. The room was spacious with a balcony, beds were very comfortable with clean linens. Most of the necessities were provided in the room aside from an iron and iron board but most likely it can be provided upon request. Their restaurant has a good ambiance and there were enough options of dishes in the breakfast buffet which also varies each day. This hotel doesn't have a lift which wasn't an issue for me. The location is very ideal, there's a nearby laundromat, banks with ATM machines, restaurants, supermarkets and a church. There are different modes of transportation such as tricycles, jeepneys and grab car service (must download the APP) to go to malls/commercial centres and other tourist spots like Cagsawa ruin and Mt. Mayon.
Water pressure in the shower could be better (4th floor). WiFi connection can be erratic but it's expected in the Philippines.

Areca is a new Hotel in the center of Legazpi City Old Albay district. We booked the suite which is very spacious and has a separate bed room. The room was clean and well equiped with a big bathroom. The restaurant within the hotel had good food. And the coffee shop / bar in the same building is conveniently located for a nightcap. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Overall an enjoyable stay.
Only a small issue or more a wish from an European visitor, the breakfast buffet could offer choices for the western breakfast taste. But understandable form the hotel perspective. Most guests are locals.

Excellent breakfast buffet, location is centrally located. Starbucks, Max's, McDo, pharmacy, convenience stores and other establishments are just walking distance from the hotel.
Stairs, note that they do not have a lift, the property have about 4 or 5 floors.

location. it’s convenient.
We had quite an unpleasant stay. the room that was assigned to us had a faulty AC. In the middle of the night we had to call housekeeping/maintenance to figure it all out. We had to wait 40 minutes to an hour in a room w/o a working aircon waiting for them to get back to us. we also had to follow up :(. it was frustrating because it took them a while to realize that it’s best for them to transfer us to a room while they are trying to “fix “ their AC. It was a bit over 10pm when we got settled into a new room, imagine how tiring and stressful that was :(
